I much prefer the [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] spelling and the [name_f]LINE[/name_f] pronunciation.

[name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] is on my list and I use the -line pronunciation. I think if you wanted the -lyn pronunciation you could still spell it [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f]. [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] is one that many people pronounce with -lyn so it wouldn’t be a stretch.

I’d go with [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] and the [name_f]LINE[/name_f] pronunciation simply as I don’t care for most -een names and -lyn names sound dated to my ears ([name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] is an exception). However, if you want the -lyn prn., go with [name_f]Emmelyn[/name_f] as that looks a lot more proper and less “we forgot one letter” than Emmelin, which I’d see as the trendier name.
