I had to come back and share that I committed to [name]Emmeline[/name] ([name]EmmeLINE[/name]) for our baby girl a month ago. I absolutely love it and wouldn’t change it, but just wanted to weigh in on the results of things I was worried about-

  1. People hear “[name]Emily[/name]” when we say it.
  2. People read it and say “EmmeLEEN”
  3. People have a hard time spelling it- [name]Emmaline[/name], [name]Emmiline[/name]
  4. My dad calls her every version you can think of except “[name]EmmeLINE[/name]”. Some people avoid calling her anything at all.
    I don’t want this to stop anyone from naming their baby girl [name]Emmeline[/name], but I was looking for someone to tell me these things before I named her. Yes, I would name her [name]Emmeline[/name] all over again :slight_smile:

That is so odd. I feel like the name is pretty classic, though off-beat.
