I think [name]Emmeline[/name] is the prettiest and classiest
Thanks for your response!
Uh oh! All three pronunciations are tied. This is making me reconsider the name…
I love [name]Emmeline[/name]! It used to be my top choice for a girl, a few years ago. I think it’s so stunning. [name]Emmeline[/name] is my favorite spelling–it just looks the most classy, complete, elegant, etc. But I have a serious soft-spot for [name]Emeline[/name], as that’s the way it’s spelled in my family tree.
I’m not a huge fan of [name]Emmaline[/name] or [name]Emaline[/name], though…
Good luck!
I would never pronounce it em-muh-[name]LINE[/name] - I’m not sure why.
I tend to vary between em-muh-LEEN and em-muh-[name]LIN[/name] but in my fairly harsh sounding northern UK accent, em-muh-[name]LIN[/name] wins out.
Oh, and Emmeline for me. Emeline does have a nice, more vintage feel to it though.
I pronounce Emmeline the French way " em-muh-LEEN" and it’s my favourite spelling. Strangely enough, if I saw it written out as Emmaline I would think it would be an American child and I would be more prone to pronounce it “em-muh-line”. Emmaline just looks like it should be pronounced like Caroline.
I pronounce this as [name]Em[/name]-muh-[name]LIN[/name], but I think [name]Em[/name]-muh-LEEN is nice too. I think that [name]Emmeline[/name] is the nicest spelling.
Actually, “[name]Emmeline[/name]” is the title of a book by [name]Judith[/name] Rossner. It is spelled [name]Emmeline[/name] and I would definitely pronounce it [name]Em[/name]-muh-[name]LINE[/name] an absolutely GORGEOUS name. You should read the book… My favorite…
I would spell it [name]Emmeline[/name] and I pronounce it [name]Emma[/name]-leen.
Emmeline / [name]Em[/name] - muh - [name]LINE[/name]
I’m in the Uk and pronounce it withthe ‘leen’ sound at the end. In terms of spelling I like it the traditional, French way [name]Emmeline[/name].
My friend’s daughter is [name]Emmeline[/name], pronounced [name]Em[/name] muh [name]LINE[/name]. In New [name]England[/name].
I spell it [name]Emmeline[/name] and pronounce it [name]Emma[/name]-[name]LINE[/name].
My daughter is [name]Emmeline[/name] ([name]EmmeLINE[/name]) and people hear “[name]Emily[/name]” all the time or read it as “EmmeLEEN” so I am constantly correcting people. Oh well, I would still name her [name]Emmeline[/name] over and over again- I love it! Also, I prefer to pronounce it more like “[name]Em[/name]-mel-ine” rather than “[name]Emma[/name]-line”.
We’re planning on using [name]Emmeline[/name] - with the [name]LINE[/name] pronunciation
I can’t help but vote for [name]Emmeline[/name] with the em-mel-ine pronounciation–every time I see that name I think of [name]Anne[/name] of Avonlea
I would always say [name]Emme[/name]-LEEN - we were taught to say it that way at school, and [name]Emmeline[/name] Pankhurst (said EmmeLEEN) was an extremely famous Suffragette that every UK schoolkid gets taught about.
I always heard [name]Emmeline[/name] Pankhurst pronounced [name]Emma[/name]-line. No matter how you pronounce it it’s a beautiful name. I vote [name]Emma[/name]-line, I just like it better.
