Which spelling do you prefer?
I like both [name]Emmy[/name] and [name]Emmie[/name], but I like [name]Emmy[/name] when used as a full name and [name]Emmie[/name] when used as a nickname.
Yeah I agree with @livelaughlove. I like [name]Emmy[/name] as a full name and [name]Emmie[/name] as a nickname. I think [name]Emmy[/name] can stand on its own too especially because of [name]Emmy[/name] Rossum (which was her stage name, as opposed to [name]Emmanuelle[/name].)
[name]Emmy[/name], though as a nickname - which is what I would use it as, definitely don’t think it stands on it’s own - I don’t think the spelling would really matter. My friend who uses it as a nickname for [name]Emily[/name] spells is [name]Emi[/name], which I think makes sense.
[name]Emmy[/name] I think it’s the cleanest spelling.
I really like [name]Emmy[/name] but I can’t get over the awards association. I’d go with [name]Emma[/name] nn [name]Emmy[/name] or if you had to make it a FN, I would use [name]Emme[/name].
[name]Emmy[/name], but only for a nickname, not for a full name. [name]Emmy[/name] reminds me of all the other little girl nicknames, along the lines of [name]Lizzie[/name], [name]Kimmy[/name], etc. They’re adorable on little girls, but I wouldn’t want to be a 30-year-old woman with that as my full name.
I prefer [name]Emmy[/name]! (:
I like [name]Emmy[/name] as a nickname.
I like [name]Emme[/name]. It seems more sophisticated to me, but still cute for a little girl.
I like [name]Emmie[/name]
[name]Love[/name] [name]Emmy[/name]!
I prefer [name]Emmy[/name] as a full name and a NN but I think [name]Emme[/name] works too. [name]Emmie[/name] just looks overly cutesy to me, even as a NN.
I have a niece named [name]Emme[/name] and I much prefer [name]Emmy[/name].
[name]Emmy[/name]. I would pronounce [name]Emme[/name] like the letter M.
I really like [name]Emme[/name], I think it just looks more classic and ageable.
I agree with [name]Gabriela[/name]. Great for a nickname, but not substantial enough for a full name. Especially with “[name]Em[/name]” names being so popular right now. I imagine that a little girl named [name]Emmy[/name] would probably wish to have a more beautiful full version like [name]Emmeline[/name], [name]Emily[/name] or [name]Emma[/name], like the rest of the girls in her class.
My name is [name_f]Emmylou[/name_f] and I go by [name_f]Emmy[/name_f]. It’s fine and the award show doesn’t mess with it at all or spark questions from people very often.
[name_f]Emmy[/name_f] would be me preferred spelling but I don’t like this name as a full name. It just sounds like someone named their child with two letters (see below). It’s a name that is forever stuck in childhood. Children grow up soon enough and outgrow their cutesy nicknames.
[name_f]Emmy[/name_f] - ME
[name_u]Jaycee[/name_u] - JC
[name_f]Kaycee[/name_f] - KC
I prefer [name_f]Emme[/name_f] for a first name
