Would it work as a first? Sure. I think itā€™s ā€œout thereā€ for a lot of people, and I think correcting the spelling would be a headache, but itā€™s not unusable. For me personally it would be a middle; I donā€™t have enough of a connection to the [name_f]Alpine[/name_f] countries or to [name_m]The[/name_m] Sound of [name_f]Music[/name_f][name_f][/name_f] to put it up front. I donā€™t love that the last syllable sounds like ā€œviceā€ to [name_f]English[/name_f] speakers.

I love ppā€™s suggestions of [name_f]Elvy[/name_f], [name_m]Dell[/name_m], and [name_f]Della[/name_f] as nicknames! (Maybe because the sounds overlap with my daughter Deliveranceā€™s name, whom we usually call [name_f]Livvy[/name_f] when we use a nnā€¦)

[name_f]Iolanthe[/name_f] is gorgeous and would make such[name_f][/name_f] a good sister for [name_f]Edelweiss[/name_f] :face_holding_back_tears::white_heart:[name_f][/name_f] Iā€™m still loving [name_f]Elvy[/name_f] and [name_f]Della[/name_f] for this sweet girl, so I love hearing that theyā€™re popular favorites for nickname ideas.   1. I do think she should be reserved for the middle spot unless you use a nickname like evie or edie. [name_m]Not[/name_m] everyone understands that the ā€˜Wā€™ is pronounced as a ā€˜Vā€™ sound, but I suppose that depends on where you live! [name_m]The[/name_m] more I say it the more I can see it working.
