I have been researching baby names for [name]FOREVER[/name] but I’ve never actually made a post. Here goes…
I am due in early [name]November[/name] with a baby boy. A few months ago, I read the wonderful book “The [name]Art[/name] of Racing in the [name]Rain[/name]” and I mentioned the dog’s name, [name]Enzo[/name], to my husband, saying that it was an interesting name and some Italian friends of ours should use it for their baby boy. Well, he fell in love with it and now he is 100% set on using it. I like it a lot, too, but I worry a little bit that it’s a little too out there and different. I’ve shared the name with many family members and close friends and honestly, people’s reactions are usually that they really like it! I know not EVERYONE is going to like it… but that’s true with any name, right? I’m a teacher and I’ve always known that I wanted to give my kids names that weren’t super popular or names that I would encounter often in my job.
So what do you think of [name]Enzo[/name]? (Last name starts with an L)
Also, I’m not sure what to use for a middle name. I think it definitely needs a one-syllable or three-syllable middle name, as our last name is two-syllables (and so is [name]Enzo[/name]). Middles names I’ve been pondering are [name]Graham[/name] and [name]Everett[/name]… or, we could honor the boys in my family and go with [name]Paul[/name]. Any other ideas?
I think [name]Enzo[/name] is great! It’s different, but not in a trendeigh way. He would probably be the only [name]Enzo[/name] in his class, which sounds like what you want. And the zo ending is really great! Also, (and this is the huge plus) your husband loves it! It is so hard to get guys to care about names. It’s great that your family and friends seem to like it, and yes, you are right, not everyone will like every name (and that’s ok!). Any of those middle names would work. I have a preference for family names in the middle spot.
I love the name and it is on my top 20 list but most people I have shared it with give me that “out there” look. I think it is perfect though. I think you should use it!!
I really adore the name [name]Enzo[/name]! It’s quite handsome and gives me a warm fuzzy feeling. Sure it is different and pretty uncommon-but it feels familiar at the same time-perhaps due to its “o” ending-so I do not think it is too “out there.” [name]Even[/name] if it is “out there” for some people I am sure the name will grow on them after they meet your beautiful baby boy (if you do indeed decide to name him [name]Enzo[/name]).
I really like [name]Enzo[/name] [name]Paul[/name]! [name]Enzo[/name] [name]Graham[/name] & [name]Enzo[/name] [name]Everett[/name] are quite nice, too. Some other middle name ideas for [name]Enzo[/name]:
And I know you said a one-syllable middle name or a three-syllable middle name would work the best, but I really love [name]Enzo[/name] [name]Patrick[/name]!
I actually know two Enzos-- one is 4, and the other is 2 or 3. I think I’ve heard of it being an extremely trendy name in [name]France[/name] and maybe other European countries, so I wouldn’t be surprised if it caught on here. I personally prefer [name]Lorenzo[/name] to be the full name, but I think it can stand alone fairly well. For middles, I would use something very classic-- [name]Enzo[/name] [name]Nathaniel[/name], [name]Enzo[/name] [name]William[/name], [name]Enzo[/name] [name]Benjamin[/name], [name]Enzo[/name] [name]Theodore[/name]…
I don’t like the name [name]Enzo[/name], and I normally love Italian names. It sounds rather ugly.
I think [name]Enzo[/name]'s trendiness in [name]France[/name] is ridiculous, since it’s not a French name at all. I think it’s popular because some soccer player used it on his son. If French parents want to use the name, it’s fine, but they should be aware that [name]Enzo[/name] is Italian and not French.
Why couldnt people in [name]France[/name] use the name [name]Enzo[/name]? What does it matter that it isnt French? I happen to like English names, but i dont live in [name]England[/name], so should i be aware of names not being Dutch? :S Sp the name cant be popular in [name]France[/name] because its not French? That is the biggest bull i have ever heard :S
I like the name [name]Enzo[/name], but i dont think ill ever use it. Its not dutch and i dont want to start a trent :S
(not really [name]Enzo[/name] in dutch is like etcetera (sp?) etc.)
[name]Enzo[/name] is a great name. It is simple easy to say and spell. Some people will not like this name and will prob voice it, so just be ready. Keep in mind these people who do not like [name]Enzo[/name] prob really like names like [name]Jayden[/name]. I totally give you my blessing [name]ENZO[/name] is GREAT!
I have always loved the name [name]Enzo[/name]! It’s a great name.
I think what it really has going for it is that it does have a sort of international flair to it – it’s Italian in origin, but it works in so many other languages just as it is without crazy pronunciation and translation changes.
And personally, I think it’s great when names cross international borders!
[name]Imagine[/name] how dull our names would be if we were restricted to using only names from our country of origin. For that matter, what would an ‘American’ name even be? English? Spanish? Native American? Made-up modern name? All of and none of the above?
Where do people think all the names you can think of come from? Most any of the names one thinks of as English are more likely to be Hebrew, Greek, or Latin, and not English! Argh! Anyway…
…[name]Enzo[/name] is a brilliant name. Use it and be happy. : )
We named our son [name]Enzo[/name] [name]James[/name]. But now we have to come up with another boys name that is similarly quirky yet simple. It’s tough!
