Which spelling do you prefer and why?
[name_f]Erica[/name_f]! It’s the classic version and the way people are going to assume it is spelled. [name_f]Erika[/name_f] looks like it’s trying too hard/made up and she’ll constantly be correcting people.
Well, to be honest I do not really like the letter K on a baby name.[name_m]Even[/name_m] if it reminds me of my country where it is widely used, I think that this letter is somehow more “hard” than C. I prefer [name_f]Erica[/name_f] because its spelling is more elegant and even girly to me
Well, I don’t really like the letter K on a baby name. [name_m]Even[/name_m] if it reminds me of my country where it is widely used, I personally believe that it is somehow “harder” than C. To me [name_f]Erica[/name_f] is more elegant and girly than [name_f]Erika[/name_f].
I prefer with a c. I think it has a softer look to it.
[name_f]Erica[/name_f] is more soft and elegant, but [name_f]Erika[/name_f] has a very Nordic Viking feel to me, I like both
The show “Leverage” did a bit about [name_m]Eric[/name_m]/[name_m]Erik[/name_m] that you might find funny.
I almost always prefer a C to a K in names, [name_f]Caitlin[/name_f] over [name_f]Kaitlin[/name_f], [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] over [name_f]Katherine[/name_f], [name_f]Cathleen[/name_f] over [name_f]Kathleen[/name_f] and the same goes here, [name_f]Erica[/name_f] is so beautiful.
I prefer K names over C names, but I think [name_f]Erica[/name_f] looks softer than [name_f]Erika[/name_f].
I prefer [name_f]Erica[/name_f] because it’s my name. [name_f]Erika[/name_f] feels broken to me, the K feels like it doesn’t belong. [name_f]Erica[/name_f] looks softer, more streamlined. People try and spell my name with a K or a CK pretty often, though.
I much prefer [name_f]Erika[/name_f] as the K takes the name away from the boys name [name_m]Eric[/name_m]! And people will still be able to pronounce it easy but you will get people spelling it wrong though!
I am an American who lives in the Midwest. I know two girls from school and a cousin of mine with this lovely name. Here is the twist: All of their names were spelled [name_f]Ericka[/name_f] – both the “c” and the “k.” Is this just a Midwest spelling? Or is it common elsewhere?
Because of those girls I know, both [name_f]Erica[/name_f] and [name_f]Erika[/name_f] seem to be missing something. I think [name_f]Erica[/name_f] is the more feminine of the two.
I almost always prefer the C over K spelling of a name, so I’m surprised to say that I prefer the [name_f]Erika[/name_f] spelling. It may stem from personal experience; I am friends with an [name_f]Erika[/name_f] and had an atrocious coworker named [name_f]Erica[/name_f]. I really don’t think you can go wrong with either spelling.
I for some reason prefer [name_f]Erika[/name_f] I don’t know why since I generally prefer the more common and original spelling of names. But it was one of my first name loves spelt that way but I love it either way.
I prefer [name_f]Erica[/name_f], but that might be because every [name_f]Erica[/name_f] I know spells it that way, so [name_f]Erika[/name_f] looks strange to me!
I automatically spell it [name_f]Erica[/name_f], unless corrected. The Ericas I knew when I was growing up spelled it this way. I have a friend whose daughter’s name is [name_f]Erika[/name_f], and she corrected me the first time she saw me write her daughter’s name.
I prefer [name_f]Erica[/name_f]
