Ok, I’ve been scouting for boys names and I came across Evren as a suggestion but I misread it as Erren and I think I’ve fallen in love with Erren as a boys name. Do you think it could be useable and if so would you spell it Erren or Erin
Thank you for all the suggestions on the previous post by the way, I really appreciate it!
two old friends of mine just had a little boy, and named him [name_u]Eren[/name_u]! I think it’s a very sweet name!!
In my accent, Erin/Eren sounds different to [name_m]Aaron[/name_m], but I think it’s pretty close in a lot of accents, so that helps it be more familiar too!
Erren or [name_u]Eren[/name_u] could work. It would most likely be mistaken for [name_m]Aaron[/name_m] though.
I’m in the US and [name_f]Erin[/name_f] and [name_m]Aaron[/name_m] are pronounced the same. [name_f]Erin[/name_f] is feminine and [name_m]Aaron[/name_m] is masculine, so I absolutely could not see [name_f]Erin[/name_f] on a boy.
[name_f]Erin[/name_f] and [name_m]Aaron[/name_m] are said the same here, but I for some reason really dislike the [name_m]Aaron[/name_m] spelling and prefer [name_f]Erin[/name_f] or [name_u]Eren[/name_u] on both.
Perhaps it depends on where you live but in Irish culture I’ve never heard of a boy named [name_f]Erin[/name_f] (Aaron has a different pronunciation from [name_f]Erin[/name_f] in [name_u]Ireland[/name_u] and the UK, AR-in). [name_f]Erin[/name_f] is common for girls/women though. I personally wouldn’t use [name_f]Erin[/name_f] for a boy but the other spellings like Erren seem fine to me.
[name_f]Erin[/name_f] and [name_m]Aaron[/name_m] are the same in my accent. [name_f]Erin[/name_f] feels quite feminine but I think [name_u]Eren[/name_u] or Erren are good ungendered options.
I’d be tempted to get a little fantasy with it and go for something like [name_f]Aerin[/name_f], but I think Erren feels the most “masculine” of the alternate spellings.
