Ernie

What do you think of [name_m]Ernie[/name_m]? Should it be a nickname for something, and if so what can it be short for, or just a stand-alone name? We’re thinking about naming this little guy [name_m]Ernie[/name_m] and he will be joining an older sister named [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] and an older brother named [name_m]Otis[/name_m] [name_m]Walter[/name_m]. I’ve read that [name_m]Ernie[/name_m] is the name of a character on [name_f]Sesame[/name_f] [name_m]Street[/name_m] but that is not a popular show at all where we live so I don’t think that will be too much of a problem.

[name_m]Ernie[/name_m] fits well with your kids and it fits in with current nn as full names trend! It’s nice

[name_m]Ernie[/name_m] is short for [name_m]Ernest[/name_m]. But either one could work for a sibling gs to your children. Personally I prefer [name_m]Ernest[/name_m] nn [name_m]Ernie[/name_m]

I can’t say I’m a fan of [name_m]Ernie[/name_m] but [name_m]Ernest[/name_m], to me, is quite refined and has gravitas as a result of [name_m]Ernest[/name_m] [name_m]Hemingway[/name_m]. I really love your children’s names and don’t quite see [name_m]Ernie[/name_m] fitting with them; I feel that names of a similar type like [name_m]Archie[/name_m], [name_u]Alfie[/name_u], [name_u]Freddie[/name_u], [name_m]Albie[/name_m] or [name_u]Franky[/name_u] would complement [name_m]Otis[/name_m] and [name_f]Clara[/name_f] better. But if you go with [name_m]Ernie[/name_m] I’d suggest it works best as a nickname for [name_m]Ernest[/name_m]. Anyway, just my two cents!
