I was thinking of the name [name]Eros[/name]…I know it’s a bit of a heavy name but me and bf just love everything about it!!!
It has meaning to me and my bf also:
It’s a Greek name- my bf [name]Noah[/name] comes from a very Greek family
It’s a Greek Mythological name- I love all of the myths about [name]Cupid[/name]/[name]Eros[/name]!
[name]Eros[/name]/[name]Cupid[/name] in the myths is a Greek God of love and the son of [name]Aphrodite[/name]/[name]Venus[/name]
It’s a historical name
It reminds us of archery- which we are passionate about
We think it could age fairly well
Bf and I [name]BOTH[/name] like it!! (we don’t agree on most boy names)
It sounds good with bf’s last name
It’s a unique name- so he wouldn’t be the one of many Jacobs, Liams or Tylers or even Baileys (which is actually a bit popular for boys in our neighborhood)
[name]Do[/name] you think all of our reasons can out weight the bad things about [name]Eros[/name] (whatever they are)???
Also what was/is your honest first impression of [name]Eros[/name]???
I know this sounds oh so strange but every time I look at this thread all I can think of is the Greek food, Yiros, this makes it unlikable for me, although I love Greek food. Safe to say I’m not exactly a fan of this as a name and the definition meogan wrote above worries me… no little boy wants a name that means that!
But after all it’s up to you, only you can decide whats best, we can only give opinions
Good [name]Luck[/name]!
[name]Eros[/name] means desire, passion, intimate love. The word erotic comes from [name]Eros[/name]
Still doesn’t bother me, no more than [name]Desiree[/name] bothers me
This does bother me. ‘Intimate love’ means romantic or sexual love. [name]Eros[/name] means specifically this kind of love, not familial love or love between friends or any other kind of love. I don’t think it’s an appropriate name for a child, not to mention how high the teasing potential would be.
I do appreciate your reasons and the meaning [name]Eros[/name] has to you, but I’m afraid they don’t weigh out the negatives, imo.
Here are some suggestions, if you’d like them.

[name]How[/name] about Ares? The Greek god of war so it has the Greek connection. I love the name Ares. I think [name]Eros[/name] is fine. I never consider a name’s meaning so it’s meaning doesn’t bother me. I just consider connotations which I don’t think is a problem [name]Eros[/name]-most people will just think it’s an unusual name. Sex-crazed boys are commonly called [name]Romeo[/name]'s, not [name]Eros[/name].
