Would love some honest opinions on these two names? [name_m]Baby[/name_m] girl is still nameless. [name_f]Lola[/name_f] was the name we originally liked but I had lots of negative opinions on it so was put off a bit. I am worried [name_f]Etta[/name_f] is a bit harsh sounding.
Both are lovely names! For me personally I love [name_f]Lola[/name_f]. It’s fun and fiesty but still soft. So she gets my vote
Both are good, solid names! I like [name_f]Lola[/name_f] best.
I like both of them! [name_f]Etta[/name_f] is my favorite [name_f][/name_f] though, but if you originally liked [name_f]Lola[/name_f] I would say go with your gut!
Both are so great! I agree [name_f]Lola[/name_f] is maybe a bit softer sounding though. You can’t go wrong!
I love [name_f]Etta[/name_f] but if you don’t love it it’s not the right choice.
[name_f]Lola[/name_f] and [name_f]Etta[/name_f] are both so sweet! I don’t think [name_f]Etta[/name_f] is harsh sounding at all- it’s unique, spunky, and vintage!
[name_f]Lola[/name_f] and [name_f]Etta[/name_f] are both lovely.
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Etta[/name_f] is a lovely vintage name with a great sparkle! She isn’t harsh-sounding at all, she’s melodious and fun. The E initial is having a great uptick at the moment so she’s also fashionable without being everywhere (not sure if that would impact your feelings) and different-sounding enough to still stand out.
[name_f][/name_f]However, if you’re not happy with [name_f]Etta[/name_f] and prefer [name_f]Lola[/name_f], definitely go for [name_f]Lola[/name_f]. People say all sorts of things about names and it can really put you off, but at the end of the day, it’s only the baby’s
[name_f][/name_f]parents whose opinions actually matter? And soon your baby girl will be people’s association with [name_f]Lola[/name_f] more than anything else so if [name_f]Lola[/name_f] is the name you like, then I think you should go for it.
Thanks for everyone’s feedback so far, I am loving the name descriptions too.
[name_f]Lola[/name_f] is so pretty – she is so sweet and spunky, with a melodic sound. You can’t go wrong with either though, [name_f]Etta[/name_f] is also adorable!
Both names give me a very spunky, sassy, sweet vibe, and they both sound very soft to me with a little bit of zip. Not harsh sounding at all. I would go with what you truly love! Others may give negative opinions but it’s not their baby. If they love your baby they will get accustomed to their name and it will feel natural calling them that over time. good luck choosing!![]()
Tough choice as I like both!
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Lola[/name_f] is gentle but sparky.
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Etta[/name_f] is strong and sharp but sweet too.
[name_f][/name_f]Ultimately, I think I like [name_f]Etta[/name_f] just a little more
Those are both beautiful names! I do love the melodic L sounds in Lola, so sweet and fun to say as it rolls off the tongue. Etta is a bit more clunky to say than Lola is but still a good choice. I wouldn’t change the name you love because of other peoples opinion’s bc everyone likes different styles of names and you will never be able to please everyone. Do what feels right to you, and when you decide say her name with confidence and they will understand.
Would you feel more comfortable using [name_f]Lola[/name_f] if you put a longer name on the birth certificate? [name_f]Dolores[/name_f] is the traditional full name, but it literally means “pains.”
[name_f][/name_f]I’ve seen lots of other good suggestions for long names. Maybe do a forum search and see if one calls out to you.

Team [name_f]Lola[/name_f] all the way. I think it’s chic, fun and underrated ![]()
Both are lovely but I prefer [name_f]Lola[/name_f] ![]()
[name_f]Lola[/name_f] is fun, bright and energetic. I also love melodic L sounds.
Both [name_f]Etta[/name_f] and [name_f]Lola[/name_f] are lovely names, and each has its own unique charm! Here are some honest thoughts on each one:
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Etta[/name_f][name_f][/name_f] –[name_f][/name_f] [name_f]Etta[/name_f] has a vintage, classic feel and a lot of elegance. It’s short, strong, and timeless. I do understand your concern about it potentially sounding a little harsh, but I still think it has a certain softness to it. Some people might find the hard “T” sound a bit abrupt, but it really depends on personal preference. If you’re feeling unsure about the harshness, pairing it with a softer middle name could help balance it out. Also, consider that [name_f]Etta[/name_f] might sound a bit like an incomplete name to some.
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Lola[/name_f] –[name_f][/name_f] [name_f]Lola[/name_f] is playful, spunky, and full of energy! It has a lovely, feminine vibe but can also feel a bit cheeky depending on the context. It’s been a popular name for a while, so while it has a lot of charm, it might feel a bit more mainstream compared to [name_f]Etta[/name_f]. If the negative opinions you’ve received are making you second-guess it, that’s totally understandable [name_f][/name_f]- this is your decision, and you should feel confident in the name you choose! At the end of the day, it’s about going with your gut and choosing what feels best for you.
[name_f][/name_f]Overall, I prefer [name_f]Lola[/name_f]. But you really can’t go wrong with either name.
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps!
I personally love [name_f]Etta[/name_f]! The meaning always puts me off Lola…
[name_f][/name_f]But as a wildcard you could consider Lorretta… might get you the best of both worlds…
All the best!
Oh my gosh you cannot go wrong [name_f][/name_f]! Both [name_f]Lola[/name_f] and [name_f]Etta[/name_f] are stunning. I love that they are both short sweet and to me they seem to ooze femininity [name_f][/name_f]. I also see these names as artistic [name_f][/name_f], well known and easy to spell and pronounce but not overly popular. Which are big wins
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]My[/name_f] preference is [name_f]Etta[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]. I feel like [name_f]Etta[/name_f] is poetic but it may just be because my association is with musicians
