I’ve recently rediscovered the name [name_f]Eugenia[/name_f], and think it’s really sweet and spunky! I think the nickname [name_u]Genie[/name_u] would make it fun and likable.
In the same way, I’ve always liked the name Eugene… but I’m really put off by the eugenics connection.

What associations/ feelings do you have with [name_f]Eugenia[/name_f]? How usable do you think it could be?

I feel like a [name_f]Eugenia[/name_f] would be smart, quick witted and a little bit spunky. I imagine books in and old library and stars across a dark night sky, and dark hair and green eyes.

[name_u]Genie[/name_u] is an extremely cute nickname and it’s perfectly fit for either [name_f]Eugenia[/name_f] or [name_f]Eugenie[/name_f]. I slightly prefer [name_f]Eugenie[/name_f] but that’s because I associate it with the [name_f]British[/name_f] royal family right now while [name_f]Eugenia[/name_f] kind of carries a darker, kind of sadder energy around it. This is probably due to the severly malnourished youtuber who posted for awhile but I haven’t watched her content in about a year however; she is still memorable and she went by [name_f]Eugenia[/name_f]

I really like [name_f]Eugenia[/name_f], and [name_u]Genie[/name_u] is super cute. Properly clunky, but doesn’t seem miles away from [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] or [name_f]Sophia[/name_f]. I don’t actually have any personal associations [name_f]Eugenia[/name_f] itself, but [name_u]Genie[/name_u] reminds me of an American sitcom from the 60s called I [name_u]Dream[/name_u] of [name_f]Jeannie[/name_f] in which the title character was in fact…a genie! A pretty dated reference though – I doubt it would be likely to come up with most people.

I really enjoy Eugenia/Eugenie and [name_u]Genie[/name_u] is adorable

I do think it’s usable - [name_f]Eugenie[/name_f] is known in the UK after all, because of [name_f]Princess[/name_f] [name_f]Eugenie[/name_f], however, my connotations are:

  • Eugenics
  • [name_f]Eugenia[/name_f] Cooney This isn’t any hate to her, but her posts/pics are pretty triggering

I like it other than the eugenics thing which could be forgotten about once the actual child arrived. I see a [name_u]Southern[/name_u] child like [name_f]Eudora[/name_f].
