sorry to keep bringing this up. I’ve heard people say [name_f]Eulalia[/name_f] (yew-lah-lee-a) sounds like a speech impairment so im worried to use it. I don’t want her to hate me, i just thought it was so unusual and pretty! nn lula? any other ideas?
I prefer [name_f]Eulalie[/name_f] myself, and I think the pronunciation might be more straightforward. “[name_f]Lula[/name_f]” still works as a nn.
I like both [name_f]Eulalia[/name_f] and [name_f]Eulalie[/name_f]. I’ve always heard it said “[name_m]Yew[/name_m]-lay-lee-uh”. [name_f]Lula[/name_f] is a super cute nn. Lalie would be cute too.
I would instinctively pronounce it like @whatchamacallit
It’s a nice name though and [name_f]Lula[/name_f] is fab.
Luella, Talulah are a bit easier to say and can be [name_m]Little[/name_m] [name_f]Lula[/name_f]’s. I’m [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] and am called [name_f]Livvy[/name_f], [name_f]Libby[/name_f], and [name_f]Lulu[/name_f]/Lula.
My great-grandmother was [name_f]Eulalia[/name_f] NN [name_f]Lula[/name_f], and my parents considered [name_f]Eulalia[/name_f] NN [name_f]Lily[/name_f] for me in honor of her! I think it’s a beautiful name, although I have a strong positive familial association. It’s unusual and may pose some pronunciation difficulties, but it has tons of potential nicknames and it certainly doesn’t sound like a speech impairment to me!
I’ve always heard it as U-lay-lia, like the letter “u,” and I love it! [name_f]Lula[/name_f] is an amazing nn, too!
I think some people will struggle saying it. Otherwise I like it and I think [name_f]Lula[/name_f] is a nice nn for it!
I definitely pronounce it yew-lay-lee-a
Eulalie is a beautiful suggestion I’d pronounce this yew-la-lee
The Spanish shortening [name_f]Laia[/name_f] is gorgeous
Also love the suggestion of [name_f]Luella[/name_f]
It forces me to enunciate, and you might have some mispronunciation, but it is usable!
Eulalia is so pretty! I am with @whatchamacallit and @emelfem - I’ve always heard it yew-lay-lee-ah - but either way it’s gorgeous. I also prefer [name_f]Eulalie[/name_f] (yew-lay-lee) myself, but [name_f]Eulalia[/name_f] is stunning. I also love the variant [name_f]Olalla[/name_f] (oh-LYE-ah). I think I said this in your other thread, too, but I like Lalie (lay-lee) more than [name_f]Lula[/name_f], but both are nice. [name_f]Lulu[/name_f] is also cute.
I’ve never heard that argument against [name_f]Eulalia[/name_f]/Eulalie, and think it’s a stunning name–I say go for it, if you truly love it!
I’d instinctively pronounce it [name_m]Yew[/name_m]-lay-lee-uh as others have mentioned but i wouldn’t be surprised by your pronunciation. [name_f]Lula[/name_f] is cute
I think it’s gorgeous, but I 100% pronounce it yew-LAY-lee-uh. Doesn’t sound like a speech impediment to me at all.
