Is Eulalia / Eulalie usable?
And if you’re US based how would you instinctively pronounce it?
Has anyone ever met a Eulalie outside of nameberry?
Also would Lily be too stretchy of a nickname?

I love [name_f]Eulalia[/name_f], and I think she’s definitely usable, though I’ve never met one in real life. I’d instinctively pronounce it as “you-LAY-lee-uh.” [name_f]Lily[/name_f] works great as a nickname!
I love Eulalie!! She’s been a name on my list for awhile, and I pronounce her YOU-luh-lee !!
[name_f][/name_f]I know one in real life (I’m from the U.S. as is she) and she says it you-LAY-lee !! As far as I know, she’s never had any problems with it
[name_f][/name_f]I also love [name_f]Lily[/name_f] as a nn, I think she’s totally doable!!
Absolutely usable!
[name_f][/name_f]you-LAY-lee / you-LAY-lee-uh
[name_f][/name_f]I think I actually have, but not 100% on that
[name_f][/name_f]I don’t think [name_f]Lily[/name_f] is too stretchy
[name_f][/name_f]I actually know a couple who named their kid [name_f]Eulalia[/name_f]! I pronounce it “you [name_f][/name_f]- LAY [name_f][/name_f]- lee [name_f][/name_f]- uh” and I live in the midwest United States.
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Lily[/name_f] is stretchy, but not bad. I can see it more for [name_f]Eulalie[/name_f] than I can for [name_f]Eulalia[/name_f], but either could work.
I adore [name_f]Eulalie[/name_f]. It was one of my final choices when I was expecting, I consider it and [name_f]Eulalia[/name_f] perfectly usable. I pronounce it you-LAY-lee—and [name_f]Eulalia[/name_f] as yoo-LAY-lee-ə—though I did briefly consider YOU-lə-lee because of the song “Eulalie” by [name_m]Jesse[/name_m] [name_m]Winchester[/name_m].
[name_f][/name_f]I do think [name_f]Lily[/name_f] is a smidge stretchy but it 100% works. I’ve never met a [name_f]Eulalie[/name_f] or [name_f]Eulalia[/name_f].
I know a young (under 5) [name_f]Eulalie[/name_f]! They say YOO-luh-lee. There are quite a few mispronunciations and some people have never quite gotten the hang of it, but I do love it on her and it fits her well. [name_f]Lily[/name_f] definitely works as a nickname!
I think it could work [name_f][/name_f]- pretty, elegant and unusual, but with familiar elements too. I do think you might get different pronunciations, but then, [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Ayla[/name_f] are popular choices with multiple pronunciations so
[name_f][/name_f]I think [name_f]Lily[/name_f] could work if you wanted it to
I like them both, but I pronounce them quite differently. I would say [name_f]Eulalie[/name_f] ‘oo-lah-lee’ and [name_f]Eulalia[/name_f] ‘you-lah-lee-uh’. I slightly prefer [name_f]Eulalie[/name_f], as it’s softer sounding to me.
I absolutely love Eulalia/Eulalie! I have [name_f]Eden[/name_f] [name_f]Eulalia[/name_f] on my long list.
[name_f][/name_f]However, I did instinctively pronounce it “Eu-law-lee-uh” for the longest time. I don’t think that’s the end of the world, though. One quick correction and most people would have it down!
[name_f][/name_f]I’ve never met a [name_f]Eulalie[/name_f] or a [name_f]Eulalia[/name_f], but it would be such a pleasure if I did!
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Lily[/name_f] is a bit stretchy as a nickname, but it’s very sweet and I think it works alright, if not exactly intuitive.
I prefer [name_f]Eulalia[/name_f] over [name_f]Eulalie[/name_f] (I actually think it’s easier to pronounce!) I pronounce it you-LAY-lee-uh. [name_f]Lily[/name_f] would definitely work as a nickname!
The only person I’ve ever known with this name was a guy named Eulalio, prn. you-LAW-lee-oh. So that’s how I pronounced it for a long time as well!
I would pronounce it Eu-LAH-lee-ah…
My mother wanted to name me Eulalia and call me Lily, but my dad vetoed it! (Her grandmother was a Eulalia who went by Lou.) I know how to pronounce Eulalia because of it being a family name (we say you-LAY-lee-uh) and I’m not as familiar with the French pronunciation but I would probably guess you-LAY-lee. Other than my great-grandmother (who I guess I technically never met as she died a couple years before I was born) I have never met one. I like the name my parents ultimately picked for me, but I think I would have enjoyed being a Eulalia, I think it’s really pretty.
I think so! [name_f][/name_f] I love [name_f]Eulalie[/name_f] especially and have been trying to get her on my list. [name_f][/name_f] I like [name_f]Aster[/name_f] [name_f]Eulalie[/name_f] but am not sure I’d use her, so I’m looking for other more usable options. [name_f][/name_f] I know it’s not the traditional pronunciation, but I say them like you-lay-lee or you-lay-lee-ah instinctively (and I think a lot of Americans would). [name_f][/name_f] I also like the Spanish variant [name_f]Olalla[/name_f] for [name_f]Eulalia[/name_f].
[name_f][/name_f]I have not met a Eulalie/Eulalia outside of nb but when I was in [name_m]Quebec[/name_m] last year I did come across a [name_f]Rue[/name_f] St. [name_f]Eulalie[/name_f] which made me so happy. [name_f][/name_f] Not a person but I guess the saint was originally! [name_f][/name_f] lol.
[name_f][/name_f]I used to hear Lalie (LAY-lee) or [name_f]Lula[/name_f] as the more favored nns for [name_f]Eulalie[/name_f] but I could see [name_f]Lily[/name_f]! [name_f][/name_f] I’m a big sucker for [name_f]Lily[/name_f] so I’d buy it even if it made no sense lol.
[name_f][/name_f]Good luck!
