What do you think of this name? Possible middles, combos or similar names?
I know it’s a name from Greek mythology, but to me it feels too obviously “European” and I’m not very keen on the sound either. I also can’t think of any nice nicknames for it. Overall, it’s just not a name that I would choose, though you’re entitled to your own opinion of course.
For me, similar names would be other names from Greek mythology e.g. [name_f]Thalia[/name_f], [name_f]Althea[/name_f], [name_f]Briseis[/name_f], [name_f]Merope[/name_f], [name_f]Ianthe[/name_f], [name_f]Evadne[/name_f], Oenone.
I’m having trouble imaging [name_f]Europa[/name_f] on an actual person. I know that [name_f]Europa[/name_f] is a character and the pronunciation is different, but imo [name_f]Europa[/name_f] is too much of a word.
The most usable nickname I can think of is [name_f]Ro[/name_f].
I like [name_f]Europa[/name_f] as a guilty pleasure name! If you would actually use it (in a European country) I think it could be seen as a pro EU statement.
I think I would pair it with a more common name, like [name_f]Europa[/name_f] [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] or [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Europa[/name_f].
Similar names: Euanthe, [name_f]Eudora[/name_f], [name_u]America[/name_u], [name_f]Kallisto[/name_f].
It is OK, though it looks better than it sounds to me (u-rope-a).
I am thinking about Rory and Rory and Poppy! Actually, and also Eurie or Eppie could work?
I am keeping it as guilty pleasure name of course. I am not planning to have any children soon as I am a teen but will use it for possible characters as I am in Europe as well hah
I do think it’s kind of cool, but the closeness to “Europe” puts me off.

i would use europa for a character in a heartbeat! i love the “ow-raw-puh” pronunciation especially. however, i don’t think it’s very usable, especially in europe. it literally means “europe” in german, for instance.
i absolutely love europa, mostly because of the moon, but i don’t think it’s usable irl unfortunately ):
i’ve been thinking about eura (like the beginning of europe) as a nn, but i like the above suggestion of ro more!
