Evaline

I have come to really like this name spelled this way–[name_f]Evaline[/name_f] with the “line” taken from my grandmother’s name. But how would you pronounce [name_f]Evaline[/name_f]? (I live in the States.)

I would instinctively say Eh-va-line, like evelyn but line at the end. I could also see eh-va-leen though

Eh-vah-line or Ee-vah-line

Eh-vuh-leen

Eh-va-line

Eh-va-line

I pronounce it eh-va-leen

Eh-va-line or Eh-va-leen

Eh-va-leen-uh or Eh-va-line

I pronounce it Eh-va-line but I could see it as Ee-va-lyn.

Thank you! I was hoping that people would read it as the same as [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u], but I don’t mind the different pronunciations. To use this name I have to figure out which way I want to say it. This was helpful!

Also, just thinking about her having to forever correct people trying to spell her name if it sounds like [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you thinking spelling [name_f]Evaline[/name_f] said Eh-va-line will be easier or still the same hassle because it isn’t common? Thoughts?
