[name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] is probably my eternal name crush, but I have some questions about it.
[name_f]Do[/name_f] you find it overused? [name_u]Will[/name_u] it get lost in all the ev names out there. Is it trendy or a classic name?
Some girl names similar in style/vibe with [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] but more unusual? What I like about [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] is that is such a girly name, I get a very pink dainty vibe from it. I also like the [name_u]Angel[/name_u] nn.
I can’t say it’s overused, as I’ve never met an [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] (I’ve also never met a [name_f]Luna[/name_f], though, despite it being in the top 10 in my country, so maybe my experience is weird.)
I don’t think it will get lost among other Ev- names like [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] and [name_u]Everly[/name_u] because it’s longer, more unusual and more traditional than most of those other names.
Is it trendy or classic? I’d say both. It’s been more popular than ever for the last 10-15 years, but it’s still a traditional name, and people had heard of it before 10-15 years ago.
Some rarer names that I think are like [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f]:
[name_f]Seraphina[/name_f]
[name_f]Emmeline[/name_f]
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]
[name_f]Calliope[/name_f]
[name_f]Eulalia[/name_f]
So I’m in the US where [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] has never been in the top 1000 but I actually do know one! It’s a lovely, bright and fresh name IMO.
So definitely not overused and I think it’s length helps it not get lost. I would say classic but on trend.
The [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] I know goes either by the full name or by [name_f]Eve[/name_f]. Also could be Gelli, [name_f]Linny[/name_f], [name_f]Evi[/name_f] or even E.
Other names:
[name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] (I think @lucy_halo1 already mentioned it)
[name_u]Valentine[/name_u]
[name_f]Berenice[/name_f]
[name_f]Vanessa[/name_f]
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f]
I have an [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] so I think it’s beautiful. I’m in on Australia and I’ve only met one other [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] asides from my daughter. I also fear the name getting too popular as the ranking in nameberry charts is right up there however I don’t think it reflects actual reality well at least not yet…
I confess I call my daughter [name_f]Evie[/name_f] a lot of the time but as has been already said there are so many nicknames available she wouldn’t have to go by [name_f]Evie[/name_f] if you didn’t like it… in fact my other daughter calls her Evil sometimes… which is a nickname I never considered but she could also be [name_u]Angel[/name_u], [name_f]Eva[/name_f], [name_f]Linnie[/name_f], [name_u]Van[/name_u]
I don’t find it overused. I don’t think it will get lost, more feel like a refreshing twist on the trend especially because you like a nickname option that doesn’t overlap. Its a classic name that fits into some current trends.

[name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] is lovely! Elegant, pretty and bright! I don’t find it overused, but there might be a risk of it becoming [name_f]Evie[/name_f] - which feels less distinctive (though still lovely)
I think it’s a beautiful name! I also love it. I don’t think it’s overused because I’ve never met an [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f]. I do think it is pretty similar to more popular names like [name_f]Evie[/name_f], [name_f]Everleigh[/name_f], [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u], etc. So if you were going with a nickname of Eve/Eva/Evie then it might get lost as another one of “those names”. I do think it’s a beautiful name though and [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] itself stands alone!
