Between [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] and [name_f]Eveline[/name_f] I prefer [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] but I even prefer [name_f]Evelina[/name_f] which sounds fresher to me

Evelyn is nice and also quite popular in the US! [name_f]Eveline[/name_f] is strange… I wouldnt pronounce them the same.

I like [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u], but today I would prefer [name_f]Eveline[/name_f] (with the “leen” ending) today I think! [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] is a gorgeous name… I just identify more with [name_f]Eva[/name_f] and [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] myself.

I am quite smitten with the idea of [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] [name_f]Freya[/name_f] or [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] or [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] [name_u]Maria[/name_u] for someone else’s child tho.

Evelyn is really popular right now, so I wouldn’t say it is dated at all! It is a very pretty name. Personally though, I would pronounce [name_f]Eveline[/name_f] as “ev-uh-leen” rather than “ev-uh-lyn”, so that may be something to consider.

I actually prefer the look of [name_f]Eveline[/name_f], but would pronounce it differently than [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u].

On the contrary, I think Evelyn is very on trend (and popular) at the moment. My worry is that, in time, it might feel dated again as the star of the plethora of Ev- (Eva, Evelyn, Evangeline, Everly), Av- (Ava, Avery) and other V names (Olivia, Ivy) begins to fade.

I don’t think it will feel dated in the way names that have a huge popularity spike in a given decade do, feeling ‘attached’ to a certain time. It’s still a classic name, it just might lose it’s recent “fresh” feeling soon is all.

[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] is very popular right now in the US - I know three Evelyns elementary age and younger. It’s a very pretty name.
[name_f]Eveline[/name_f], I prefer pronounced as “ehv-uh-leen”, I like it as well but it has a different vibe for me.

I think those are both fantastic names! On the contrary, they seem classic and timeless to me and will fit well for someone as they age.

I much prefer [name_f]Evaline[/name_f] (Eh-vah-line) or [name_f]Eveline[/name_f] (With the Eh-veh-[name_f]Leen[/name_f] prn) over [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u].

[name_m]Even[/name_m] though [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] is the trendy & popular one, I just personally can’t see it as a “fresher” option. Still though, I do think the name is lovely in general!

[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] is perfectly acceptable and not dated.

It’s classic in the same way [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] is.
