Is [name_m]Damian[/name_m] a too mainstream and common name to be used on a evil character/antagonist? Last name is [name_m]Slade[/name_m]. I like the meaning of [name_m]Damian[/name_m] “to tame, subdue” because he is a beastly 18-year-old boy in my story with an unpredictable temper and lack of conscience.
Also, this isn’t about names but is the dark hair, dark eyes image of evil characters too common? [name_m]How[/name_m] would you imagine the character I’ve described above?
[name_m]Damien[/name_m] [name_m]Slade[/name_m] sounds evil to me, and I think blue-eyed blondes are as frequently ‘evil’, or iceblooded Nazis, as dark haired/dark eyed people. If you want to buck the stereotypes, an evil redhead would be interesting–especially if male. Female redheads are stereotyped as having fiery tempers.
Does [name_m]Damian[/name_m] [name_m]Slade[/name_m] or [name_m]Damien[/name_m] [name_m]Slade[/name_m] loook better? I’m currently using [name_m]Damian[/name_m] with an ‘a’.
Somehow I immediately picture [name_m]Damian[/name_m] as a dark haired, blue-eyed boy but I might consider him with red hair. Seems interesting and I agree with your point.
