Is Evra usable? [name_m]Or[/name_m] is the birth control patch association too prominent? Personally we had never heard of the Ortho Evra [name_m]Patch[/name_m] before but I’ve now seen it mentioned in a few older threads online discussing the name and it’s got be rethinking it.
I personally have never heard of the birth control patch, but I am also not particularly knowledgeable in patch brand names so it’s possible it’s well-known and I’m just not aware.
I think Evra is unique and cool.
I think Evra is cool. Personally I’ve never heard of the Evra patch, and it’s possible that you might get a few funny looks or questions if someone is familiar with it. But since I’ve personally never heard of it, and since the first Google search page doesn’t mention the birth control. To me I would say it was fine.
Never heard of the birth control, but I think of Evra → [name_f]Ginevra[/name_f] - so like a cool, nickname-as-given-name style choice. I like Evra!
I’ve never heard of the patch so to me it’s usable. It’s a beautiful name
I’ve also never heard of the birth control. I like the sound! Upon a quick Google, the first result is a [name_m]French[/name_m] former soccer player – [name_f]Patrice[/name_f] Evra.
I work in the medical device industry in [name_f]Canada[/name_f] and am a nurse. I’m well exposed to different brand drug names. I’ve never heard of Evra. [name_f]Yasmin[/name_f] is birth control pill and people still use it as a baby name, so I think Evra is fine.
As a name, I think it’s really pretty! Like [name_m]Ever[/name_m] and [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] had a baby haha.
I agree with a previous commenter, I think to avoid the birth control patch association it would be so cool to call her [name_f]Ginevra[/name_f] and use the nickname Evra. I actually am stealing this idea for my list, I love [name_f]Ginevra[/name_f] and the idea of the nickname Evra sold it for me!
This is where we got inspiration for the name. But we can’t use [name_f]Ginevra[/name_f] itself for a few reasons. I think I’ll make another post about alternatives for a longer form of Evra now that I’m a bit more reassured about it.
