Evren

I’ve had lovely little Evren on my long-list for years. Recently I’ve added it to my short-list and it fast rose up that, too! I love the short, unusual, punchy yet gentle sound, and it’s relatively easy to both pronounce and spell. Also, being very interested in philosophy and the relationship between science and religion, it means that much more to us in regard to the meaning – Turkish, meaning “cosmos, the (order of the) universe”. I also like Evren for a girl, but greatly prefer it for a boy.

What are your thoughts on Evren? I’m absolutely smitten with Evren [name_u]August[/name_u] as combo at the moment (and enjoying the potential brother-duo of Evren & [name_m]Ambrose[/name_m]) – what do you think?

[name_u]Love[/name_u] it! Sounds perfect for you. I didn’t know it meant Cosmos in Turkish, such a cool meaning.
Evren [name_u]August[/name_u] with a brother [name_m]Ambrose[/name_m] is so lovely!

I adore Evren, the meaning, simplicity, and the boyish yet substantial feel. I think Evren [name_u]August[/name_u] is great! [name_u]August[/name_u] really brings out the energy and fun of Evren, and Evren & [name_m]Ambrose[/name_m] complement each other wonderfully.

I know a little boy Evren who also happens to be bright and gorgeous! Great pick!

I really like Evren, and the meaning makes it even better.

Thank you all for sharing your thoughts. It’s good to see it being well received.

I love the meaning!

I knew an Evren in college, so there’s a negative association for me that I can’t shake. Pragmatically, though, it’s a nice name - a little different but not entirely unrecognizable.

I like it. It’s an original choice bit doesn’t seem odd. I really like the meaning. Brothers Evren and [name_m]Ambrose[/name_m], so perfect!!

I love it.

Honestly, it feels made up. But it’s not a bad thing though. I think it sounds really pretty and is totally usable.

I like Evren, but I slightly prefer Severn.

I actually thought is Severn and [name_m]Severin[/name_m] when I saw Evren!

I think its a great stand alone name. I agree Evren and [name_m]Ambrose[/name_m] make great sib names, not sure I would make [name_m]Ambrose[/name_m] a middle name though as it feels like to me it needs a 3 syllable middle name to go with it. But lots of fun and lots of room for creativity in both sibs and middle names
