Hey everyone, am trying to add names to our list at this point and would really like some suggestions of names in the “Exotic Lite” style. Names like [name_m]Bruno[/name_m], [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f], [name_f]Eva[/name_f], [name_m]Igor[/name_m], [name_f]Margot[/name_f], [name_m]Otto[/name_m], [name_f]Freya[/name_f], [name_f]Frida[/name_f], [name_f]Sabina[/name_f], [name_f]Eliska[/name_f], [name_f]Anais[/name_f] etc, that are essentially foreign and more commom throughout Europe, but that are recognizable and can work perfectly in the US.
Despite having a son named [name_m]Peter[/name_m] and a little girl named [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] which are very standard and traditional English names, mine and husband’s style lean more towards the “Exotic Lite” names, hence why our other two are a [name_m]Bruno[/name_m] and a [name_f]Sabina[/name_f].
Anyway, excited for the suggestions you’ll fire away!
I was thinking that [name_f]Nina[/name_f] would be a very good choice, although I realize that might be a bit too close to [name_f]Sabina[/name_f]. However, I do think stylistically that really bridges the gap between your children’s names.
Here are a few totally random ideas:
[name_f]Teresa[/name_f]/[name_f]Therese[/name_f] - I would use [name_f]Teresa[/name_f] without the H to make it a bit more international
[name_f]Flora[/name_f] - to me this is both slightly British and slightly exotic, sort of between [name_m]Peter[/name_m] and [name_m]Bruno[/name_m]
[name_f]Evelia[/name_f] - [name_f]Eva[/name_f] but slightly more elaborate
[name_f]Isabel[/name_f] - very elegant and crosses all sorts of borders
[name_f]Leonor[/name_f] - this is one I love, and is currently one of the most popular names in Portugal
[name_f]Alba[/name_f] - I say [name_f]Alba[/name_f] over [name_f]Alma[/name_f] because it feels a bit older, and like a slightly better match with [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f]
[name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] - adorable and elegant
[name_f]Natalia[/name_f] - a bit expected, but very nice
[name_f]Natasha[/name_f] - gives me eastern European vibes
[name_f]Miriam[/name_f] - very, very international
I think [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] or [name_f]Therese[/name_f] (possibly with an accent?) both sound like excellent choices for me. I think [name_m]Peter[/name_m], [name_f]Sabina[/name_f], [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f], [name_m]Bruno[/name_m] and [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] or [name_m]Peter[/name_m], [name_f]Sabina[/name_f], [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f], [name_m]Bruno[/name_m] and [name_f]Therese[/name_f] are both fantastic.

Yes, I’ve looked at the list several times and it’s where I got the term “Exotic Lite” from, although the names on that list no longer feel very fresh or amazing to me.
[name_f]Miriam[/name_f] is on my list already and I love it! I really appreciate you suggesting [name_f]Alba[/name_f] because [name_m]Albert[/name_m] is one of my favorite names and I think [name_f]Alba[/name_f] could shorten to [name_m]Albie[/name_m] and it would be adorable! I also really like [name_f]Leonor[/name_f] and [name_f]Flora[/name_f] too. [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] is off limits because it’s my goddaughter’s name.
[name_f]Petra[/name_f] wouldn’t work because my son is a [name_m]Peter[/name_m], but I’m loving the thought of [name_f]Lucia[/name_f], just not pronounced Loosha…
[name_f]Cosima[/name_f], [name_f]Amaia[/name_f], [name_f]Annika[/name_f] and [name_f]Junia[/name_f] are lovely! I also love [name_f]Octavia[/name_f] from your signature. [name_u]Love[/name_u] the suggested boy names too, but doctor has confirmed LO is a girl!
