Expecting twin girls...help!

My little gals are due end of June/early July and I’m pretty stumped on middle names. I’ve always loved the name Ellis/Ellison for a girl so one of the names will definitely be Ellis. I’m not using Ellison (sadly) because their last names will be Johnson and I don’t want her first and last name to end in “son.” After browsing NameBerry for quite a while, I saw the name Marlowe with Ellis. I think it’s pretty catchy, Ellis and Marlowe…Marlowe and Ellis! I also like how they aren’t super popular names since like I said before, they will have a very common last name.

I’m thinking Ellis Maeve and Marlowe Sage but for some reason I feel like they aren’t “the ones” if you get what I mean. These gals will have these names for their whole lives and I really want to make sure they have the best names possible. Are Maeve and Sage too basic? I like Marlowe Sage but the -ge in Sage might clash with the J- in Johnson. Also I’m a bit wary about the flow of Ellis Maeve. And will people think that Ellis and Marlowe are 2 boys?? Maybe I’m over thinking this but who knows.

Other things that may or may not help:
Ellis and Marlowe will be our only children. I don’t plan on having more kids in the future. This will be my only chance to use the names I love.
My name is Valerie and I frequently go by Valley by friends and family.
My husband and their father is Patrick and occasionally is called Paddy (by me.)
We have a little pupper named Jade who will grow up with the gals. Maeve, Sage, and Jade is a connection I go back and forth between loving with my whole heart and “why would someone ever do that.”
I don’t want the middle initials to start with vowels.

I really am worrying too much about this, but I just want to make sure I’m not going to do something I regret. I just need help and assurance on these gals’ names please.

Much love, Valley :heartpulse::heartpulse:

[name_f]Welcome[/name_f] to Nameberry!! [name_u]Ellis[/name_u] and [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u] are darling for sisters-- so cute! I don’t think [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] and [name_u]Sage[/name_u] are too basic, but I don’t love the flow of [name_u]Ellis[/name_u] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f]. [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u] [name_u]Sage[/name_u] is pretty though! I don’t think the -ge running into the J is a huuuge concern, as you’re not going to be saying her full name too often.

If you’re worried about [name_u]Ellis[/name_u] and [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u] being a bit masculine, I think more girly middles are the way to go! Some ideas:

[name_u]Ellis[/name_u] [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f]
[name_u]Ellis[/name_u] [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f]
[name_u]Ellis[/name_u] [name_u]Indigo[/name_u]
[name_u]Ellis[/name_u] [name_u]Skye[/name_u]
[name_u]Ellis[/name_u] [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f]
[name_u]Ellis[/name_u] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]
[name_u]Marlowe[/name_u] [name_u]Briar[/name_u]
[name_u]Marlowe[/name_u] [name_f]Flora[/name_f]
[name_u]Marlowe[/name_u] [name_f]Poppy[/name_f]
[name_u]Marlowe[/name_u] [name_f]Saskia[/name_f]
[name_u]Marlowe[/name_u] [name_u]Juniper[/name_u]
[name_u]Marlowe[/name_u] [name_f]Carys[/name_f]

I think of these, my favorite sibset is [name_u]Ellis[/name_u] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] and [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u] [name_u]Sage[/name_u]!
