Explain Your Signature/Combinations

[name_m]Just[/name_m] doing the names with a significant story. Some are not on my signature but are on my list in the link.

[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_f]Jessamine[/name_f]- after my great grandmother [name_u]Jessie[/name_u] [name_f]Mae[/name_f]. She was an amazing woman. I can’t just use either of her names though because my youngest sister is [name_f]Jessica[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f].

[name_f]Laurel[/name_f] [name_f]Michelle[/name_f]- After my mom. Her name is [name_f]Michelle[/name_f] [name_u]Lynn[/name_u], and this is my honor name to her. I kept her initials

[name_m]Graham[/name_m] [name_m]Allen[/name_m]- Name honor for my dad [name_u]Gene[/name_u] [name_m]Allen[/name_m]. I also really like the nickname [name_u]Grey[/name_u] for this name and I just really like the name [name_m]Graham[/name_m].

[name_u]Elliott[/name_u] [name_m]Scott[/name_m]- [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] is not after anyone, but rather just a name I’ve always loved. [name_m]Scott[/name_m] is after my brother, who isn’t my actual brother by any means but has always acted as my big brother for as long as I can remember and is a wonderful big brother to me.

[name_u]Cassidy[/name_u]- [name_u]Cassidy[/name_u] actually takes roots from [name_m]Casper[/name_m], the name we took to calling the baby my mother miscarried when I was 12 and so this name holds that sentimental meaning

[name_f]Seraphina[/name_f]- I heard of the name [name_f]Serafine[/name_f] from Beautiful Creatures and I liked the way it sounded, then I came across this one and loved it.

[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]- I just like the name. Sounds tough, yet girly. [name_f]Carly[/name_f] would be a cute nickname too.

[name_f]Penelope[/name_f]- My love of this name started from the [name_f]Barbie[/name_f] [name_f]Rapunzel[/name_f] movieand grew with Criminal Minds.

[name_f]Josephine[/name_f]- I like this name. It gives a lot of nickname possibilities, something my name doesn’t do. I like the Sephy nickname as a nod to my sister [name_f]Stephanie[/name_f].

Elloren- I ‘created’ this name when I was like 10 as an alternative to [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]. I happen to really like it now. And I’ve since discovered it’s a real name not invented by 10 year old me.

[name_f]Nicole[/name_f]- my middle name. I plan to hopefully pass it on if I ever have a daughter.

[name_u]Alden[/name_u]- My paternal great grandmother’s maiden name was [name_m]Aldis[/name_m], and I like this as a nod to her for a boy.

Alynn- [name_m]Allen[/name_m] and [name_u]Lynn[/name_u] (my parent’s middle names) all in one pretty girl’s name.

[name_f]Leona[/name_f]- my maternal great grandmother’s middle name.

[name_f]Kamille[/name_f]- After my brother [name_m]Scott[/name_m] as well. Although his middle name ([name_u]Kameron[/name_u]) is a unisex name, I prefer girlier [name_f]Kamille[/name_f] over [name_u]Kameron[/name_u].

Boys names:
[name_m]Archie[/name_m] [name_m]John[/name_m] [name_u]Barry[/name_u] * I always knew when I have a son he would be called [name_m]Archie[/name_m], it is a name I have always loved. [name_m]John[/name_m] is a family name and [name_u]Barry[/name_u] is after my dad who passed away
[name_u]Toby[/name_u] [name_m]Bryan[/name_m] [name_u]Ray[/name_u] * [name_u]Toby[/name_u] is similar to [name_m]Archie[/name_m] as its a name I have always loved. [name_m]Bryan[/name_m] is after one of my grandfather’s and [name_u]Ray[/name_u] is after the other, both died before I was born
[name_m]Damien[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] * [name_m]Damien[/name_m] is a name I read in a book and fell in love with. [name_u]James[/name_u] is a name I would use if it wasn’t so popular
[name_m]Isaac[/name_m] [name_m]Richard[/name_m] * [name_m]Isaac[/name_m] is a name I love and [name_m]Richard[/name_m] is after a close family friend
[name_m]Oscar[/name_m] [name_m]Colin[/name_m] * [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] is a name I really love and [name_m]Colin[/name_m] is after my uncle

Girls names:
[name_f]Ellie[/name_f] [name_f]May[/name_f] [name_u]Jean[/name_u] * [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] is a name I really love. [name_f]May[/name_f] and [name_u]Jean[/name_u] are after family members
[name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] * [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] is a name I have always loved and [name_f]Kate[/name_f] is after a friend
[name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] * [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] is a name I have always loved and [name_f]Grace[/name_f] is the same
[name_u]Darcey[/name_u] [name_f]Jessica[/name_f] * [name_u]Darcey[/name_u] is a name I saw on a tv show and fell in love with and [name_f]Jessica[/name_f] is after a friend
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] [name_u]Rae[/name_u] * [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] is a name I’ve loved since I can remember and [name_u]Rae[/name_u] is after my grandfather who died before I was born.

I like reading everyone’s stories

[name_f]Rhoswen[/name_f] [name_f]Lark[/name_f] - I fell in love with [name_f]Rhoswen[/name_f] when searching for Welsh names (and as an alternative to [name_f]Rhonwen[/name_f] which I don’t like). [name_f]Lark[/name_f] feels spunky with it. Nickname [name_f]Roz[/name_f]. This is my #1.

[name_f]Bryony[/name_f] [name_f]Greer[/name_f] - There’s something about [name_f]Bryony[/name_f]…not sure if it’s the sound, look, or feel, but I love it. [name_f]Greer[/name_f] has more substance than some other filler middles, and I didn’t want a word name here. I like that hard [name_f]Greer[/name_f] balances the soft [name_f]Bryony[/name_f]. My hesitation is that it looks trendy (or should I say tryndie) with the two y’s, but it’s the proper spelling.

[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u] - [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] is actually a subtle way for me to honour [name_m]Gord[/name_m] Downie, who’s band I’m significantly obsessed with (flew around the country going to shows last summer, have a shrine in my living room lol). He has terminal cancer and is using his time left to do excellent work with [name_f]Canada[/name_f]'s indigenous peoples. [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] is a song title from the 90s, and [name_u]Wren[/name_u] just flows nicely I think!

[name_f]Cerys[/name_f] [name_u]Brooke[/name_u] - I can’t for the life of me settle on a pairing for [name_f]Cerys[/name_f], which I love. [name_u]Brooke[/name_u] isn’t permanent, just trying it out right now.

[name_f]Eira[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] - [name_f]Eira[/name_f] means “snow” in Welsh, which is kind of fun. Pronounced ay-ra. [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] is kind of a filler, but I do like the sharpness of this combo.

[name_f]Bridget[/name_f] [name_u]Rue[/name_u] - [name_f]Bridget[/name_f] doesn’t fit in that well with my other names, but I adore it so much. [name_m]Don[/name_m]'t know why. I’m always playing with middles for her, but I like short R names, hence [name_u]Rue[/name_u].

[name_f]Briar[/name_f] [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] - I’ve always thought [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] was really cool, but I prefer it in the middle. I like [name_f]Briar[/name_f] too because it’s spunky, interesting, and unique without being off-the-wall.

[name_u]Winter[/name_u] [name_f]Isolde[/name_f] - Nicknamed [name_f]Winnie[/name_f], I do like [name_u]Winter[/name_u]. Not sure how wearable it is, so this combo is still a GP.

[name_f]Tosca[/name_f] [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] - I know someone named [name_f]Tosca[/name_f] so may not use this [name_m]IRL[/name_m], but I’ve always thought it was awesome. [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] explained above.

[name_m]Arrow[/name_m] [name_u]Reid[/name_u] - I’m loving [name_m]Arrow[/name_m] lately. I go back and forth between [name_m]Arrow[/name_m] and [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] though. [name_u]Reid[/name_u] is one of my all time favourites.

[name_m]Simon[/name_m] [name_u]Rhys[/name_u] - For boys I am always drawn to two-syllable, soft, S names. [name_m]Simon[/name_m] fits that bill. [name_u]Rhys[/name_u] is my [name_u]Reid[/name_u] alternative if I want to go with a Welsh name.

[name_u]Dean[/name_u] [name_u]Everest[/name_u] - I love [name_u]Dean[/name_u]. It feels retro, long haired, surfer guy (to me at least - I know some people think it’s not old enough for a revival). [name_u]Everest[/name_u] is a nod to mine and DH’s passion for climbing - not that we’ve ever climbed [name_u]Everest[/name_u]. I wouldn’t use it as a first, but I like the flow here.

[name_u]Lennox[/name_u] [name_m]Grant[/name_m] - I adore [name_u]Lennox[/name_u], and [name_m]Grant[/name_m] has the same feel as [name_u]Dean[/name_u] to me. If I ever have twin boys they’d be [name_u]Dean[/name_u] and [name_m]Grant[/name_m].

[name_u]Sullivan[/name_u] [name_m]Davies[/name_m] - This is mostly to get to the nn of [name_u]Sully[/name_u] which I love. [name_m]Davies[/name_m] is for my late FIL [name_m]David[/name_m].

[name_m]Renan[/name_m] [name_u]Flynn[/name_u] - There’s something about [name_m]Renan[/name_m] (re-NAHN) that I love. The softness, sound, look, everything! Still playing with middles for it, so [name_u]Flynn[/name_u] isn’t permanent.

[name_u]Spencer[/name_u] [name_m]Otis[/name_m] - Again, love those soft two-syllable S names. [name_u]Spencer[/name_u] is such a nice sounding name to me, and would fit well on a child and adult. I’ve entertained the idea of using it on a girl since I love it and the nn of [name_u]Penny[/name_u], but I still prefer it on a boy. [name_m]Otis[/name_m] is just fun and rolls nicely with [name_u]Spencer[/name_u].

[name_u]Sidney[/name_u] [name_u]Roy[/name_u] - two syllableS, soft, and starts with S! One of my “older” names, though could be vintage? [name_u]Roy[/name_u] is late FIL’s middle name.

[name_m]Miles[/name_m] [name_m]Gordon[/name_m] - I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_m]Miles[/name_m], but my aunt’s dog is [name_m]Milo[/name_m] so that’s why this comes off the list every so often. Sometimes it bothers me, sometimes not! It’s also one of my most popular names, usually around #85. [name_m]Gordon[/name_m] is a nod to, who else, [name_m]Gord[/name_m] Downie.

• [name_f]Iris[/name_f] Alara - Alara is a name I am really found of despite negative reviews from family/friends and I want it to be more popular/well known as an international name too so I combined it with [name_f]Iris[/name_f] which is a popular name on NB.
• Mavera Lolan - Mavera is a place name I really like despite being non Turkish name, Lolan on the other hand is an historical name that isn’t used anymore, which is a shame tbh
• [name_f]Maysa[/name_f] [name_m]Arin[/name_m] - [name_f]Maysa[/name_f] is the name of my favorite cartoon character! [name_f]Maysa[/name_f] and Bulut the main characters make a good sibset too. [name_m]Arin[/name_m] is a name I started to like, at first it was an idol name and a GP since I didn’t know it was also a Turkish name. After discovering there is a Turkish name [name_m]Arin[/name_m] too I added it to my list.

• Akel Balamir - I found Akel when I was having a edgy “I hate names ending with -el phase” which doesn’t makes sence I do like [name_m]Daniel[/name_m] ever since I was a child but they are rare in Turkish. Balamir is a historical name and I like the similarity to Faramir/Boromir which makes it a geeky name.
• Kutlu Ataman Boz - Kutlu is a honor name, I don’t choose honor names but Kutlu honors both of my uncle’s at the same time, two birds with one stone. Ataman is a historical name after the founder of Ottoman Empire, whose name was [name_m]Otman[/name_m] a variation of Ataman before changing to [name_m]Osman[/name_m]. Boz is the Turkish word for grey. I love [name_u]Grey[/name_u] as a name and seeing it was making me sad so I thought maybe I can use Boz instead? My next attempts will be Tulki and [name_m]Kurt[/name_m] instead of [name_m]Fox[/name_m] and [name_m]Wolf[/name_m] tbh.
• Timuçin Erem - Timuçin is my attempt to like cedillas, umlauts and dotless I we have in our language. There are so many names I like but can’t use due to peculiar letters. Erem was an alternative to Eren at first, a name I love but can’t use since there tons of Erens around me + Eren Jaeger connection although he may have Turkish heritage himself, I found Erem by chance and it became an instant favorite, it has a great meaning too!

[name_f]Aurora[/name_f] [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] “[name_u]Rory[/name_u]”- [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] is an honor name for my sister whose mn is [name_f]Dawn[/name_f]. [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] is just a name that I’ve always loved and I think it goes so well with [name_f]Aurora[/name_f]. “[name_u]Rory[/name_u]” is just such a fun nn and would work so well for a little girl, I think.
[name_f]Geneva[/name_f] [name_f]Irene[/name_f] “[name_f]Neva[/name_f]/[name_f]Eve[/name_f]”- [name_f]Geneva[/name_f] is just such a beautiful name, I think. and it’s an easy yet uncommon way to get to the nns [name_f]Neva[/name_f] and [name_f]Eve[/name_f]. [name_f]Irene[/name_f] is an honor name for my grandma and I think it adds so much to an already beautiful name. I think “[name_f]Neva[/name_f]” is such a unique name and [name_f]Eve[/name_f] is abeautiful name with a strong history.
[name_f]Leandra[/name_f] [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] “[name_u]Andy[/name_u]” -[name_f]Leandra[/name_f] is a way to honor my mom. I also love the meaning of the name! I think [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] just has a nice flow and really rolls off the tongue. “[name_u]Andy[/name_u]” is a really playful, fun nn that can also age with the little girl into a young woman.
[name_f]Alessia[/name_f] [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] “[name_f]Sia[/name_f]” - [name_f]Alessia[/name_f] is a was to honor my Dad. [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] is just the middle I have for now. I’m not set on it. I just no I want it to start with R and end in a consonant. “[name_f]Sia[/name_f]” Is a cute nn but I’m not settled on it either because of the singer.

[name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] [name_u]Michael[/name_u] “Bash” - [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] is just such a strong, handsome name. [name_u]Michael[/name_u] is a way to honor my brother and “Bash” is just such a cute nn. If you read it as I intend it. It’s supposed to point toward Bashful, not angry bashing.
[name_m]Lincoln[/name_m] [name_u]Dean[/name_u]"[name_m]Link[/name_m]"- [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m] is a very handsome name with a strong history, but also one that you don’t hear very often. [name_u]Dean[/name_u] is an honor name for my grandpa. [name_m]Link[/name_m] is a fun nn to bring some youth to a name filled with so much history.
[name_m]Judah[/name_m] [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] “[name_u]Jude[/name_u]”- I really just love the meaning behind these names.

[name_u]Hayden[/name_u] [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f]- [name_m]Haden[/name_m] is a family name, and my grandfather’s middle name. [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] was the name of two of my grandmothers.
[name_f]Rayna[/name_f] [name_f]Irene[/name_f]- [name_f]Rayna[/name_f] is after my mom, [name_u]Ray[/name_u]. [name_f]Irene[/name_f] was my husbands grandmother.
[name_f]Jaclyn[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]- [name_f]Jaclyn[/name_f] was husbands friend who died in a car crash. [name_f]Rose[/name_f] he just likes with it.
[name_f]Olena[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f]/[name_f]Rose[/name_f]- [name_f]Olena[/name_f] is a variant of [name_f]Helen[/name_f] who was my husbands grandmother who recently passed away. [name_f]Marie[/name_f] is my sister’s middle name. [name_f]Rose[/name_f] I like and has been heavily suggested.
[name_f]Jessa[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]- [name_f]Jessa[/name_f] is after my Uncle [name_u]Jessie[/name_u]. [name_f]Louise[/name_f], I took the “[name_u]Lou[/name_u]” from my great-grandmothers name Lougene. (we might change it to Lougene if it comes down to it.)

[name_m]Joel[/name_m] [name_m]Haden[/name_m]- [name_m]Joel[/name_m] is from my husbands name, John, and my middle name, Nichole. [name_m]Haden[/name_m] is my grandfather’s middle name.
[name_m]Remus[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m]- [name_m]Remus[/name_m], we both like. [name_m]William[/name_m] is my husbands middle name.
[name_u]James[/name_u] [name_m]Griffon[/name_m]- [name_u]James[/name_u] is a family name on both sides. [name_m]Griffon[/name_m] we both like.
[name_u]Robin[/name_u] [name_u]Elliot[/name_u]- [name_u]Robin[/name_u] took the “[name_m]Rob[/name_m]” from [name_m]Robert[/name_m], a great-uncle. [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] took the “[name_f]Ell[/name_f]” from [name_m]Ellsworth[/name_m] my FIL’s middle name.
[name_u]Alden[/name_u] [name_m]Cooper[/name_m]- We like the name [name_u]Alden[/name_u]. [name_m]Cooper[/name_m] is my grandmother’s maiden name.

I have way too many names in my signature so I’ll just pick three from girls & boys, the ones that have some sort of meaning to me!

Ellington Grayce - Ellington is the first name my boyfriend took an interest in on this site, ever since then its been an inside thing with us. We’ve both fallen in love with the name for a girl. Grayce is obviously an unusual spelling, its for my grandmother Grayceann.

Florence Rosalie - I have always loved Flora and this name is a (surprising) love of my boyfriends. Rosalie has always been a name I’ve wanted to use, it just sounds so nice and feminine. I also love the meanings together: prosperous or blossoming rose!

Thea Aurora - Thea is a name that I absolutely love, simple sounding yet a powerful meaning. Aurora means dawn which is my mothers name.

Bowman Atlas - These names have no family ties or anything, I just love both of these names. I think it sounds strong without being too out-there. Plus, I love the nickname option of Bowie. So cute. I also like the story of the titan Atlas. I think they go well together.

Holden Ward - I first saw Holden in The Catcher in the Rye, a book that I love. Ward is from my fathers name which is Hayward.

Benson Archer - Benson is a family name of my boyfriends (his middle name) which I just love. Very interesting way to get the nickname Ben! Archer is an inside thing between us and besides, I love the way it sounds.

[name_f]Rosie[/name_f] [name_f]Emmanuelle[/name_f]:
[name_f]Rosie[/name_f] has been my favourite name forever since I was a toddler. More recently, I fell in love with a story that includes a daughter [name_f]Rosie[/name_f], who later grows up to be the main character and a brave, passionate, and strong woman. Recently, in a tragic turn of events, a young girl in my school named [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] was struck in an accident while riding her bike and I feel it is now an honour name to honour her courage in the current situation that has changed the course of her whole life and future. I paired it with [name_f]Emmanuelle[/name_f] because I think it reflects strength and boldness with a light feminine end.

[name_f]Josephine[/name_f] [name_f]Ivy[/name_f]: Possibly the longest-standing combo I have. It’s been here for a few months. [name_m]Even[/name_m] though [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] is not a great favourite, I keep the combo around because both names together sound so wonderful to me.

[name_f]Mila[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f]: In a sister story to the one mentioned above, [name_f]Mila[/name_f] is a brilliant, understanding, artistic, independent, friendly and loving woman and mother to the main character. [name_f]Faye[/name_f] is for the main character’s spunky and smart older sister, spelled [name_f]Fay[/name_f] originally, but I like [name_f]Faye[/name_f] better.

Aila [name_f]Miriam[/name_f]: I’ve loved the name Aila for a few years now but have hesitated to add it to the list because the way I originally found it was because it is the name of a friend, who I generally don’t talk to often but is the older sister of one of my best and closest friends :stuck_out_tongue: . [name_f]Miriam[/name_f] is for another story, a little girl with big dreams and who absolutely loves helping and healing everything and everyone.

[name_f]Calliope[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]: Both names are names I love that I think sound beautiful together. I believe I’ll keep it on the list for a while yet.

[name_f]Iona[/name_f] [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f]: Same reasons as the above statement for [name_f]Calliope[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f].

[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f]: [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] is the author of the story that [name_f]Miriam[/name_f] (explained above) comes from, because she is such an amazing writer and a coding genius. [name_f]Violet[/name_f] is for the bright and gifted [name_f]Violet[/name_f] Baudelaire of the Lemony Snicket series.

[name_f]Eira[/name_f] [name_f]Madelina[/name_f]: I love all pronounciations of the name [name_f]Eira[/name_f], eye-ra the most, however it’s supposed to be pronounced Ay-ra. Although this makes me feel awkward to add it to the list because one of my best and closest friends is names [name_m]Aaron[/name_m], which is very similar. I fell in love with [name_f]Madelina[/name_f] the very first time I heard it and it’s been pending for a combo for a while now.

[name_f]Anna[/name_f] Caramia: I’m not sure if this combo will stick, as I’ve had a hard time coming up with a middle to balance the somewhat plain [name_f]Anna[/name_f]. [name_f]Anna[/name_f] is for my auntie [name_f]Anne[/name_f] ([name_f]Anne[/name_f]-[name_f]Marie[/name_f]), who plays a big role in my life and also for my great-grandmother [name_f]Anna[/name_f], who I hear was a pretty badass Italian grandmother and a crazy cook (panettone is best baked at 4 am, it’s when it rises best). Caramia is a smoosh of Italian words that mean ‘My Darling’, which I came across a few days ago and thought was cute.

[name_f]Doroteya[/name_f] [name_f]Harlow[/name_f]- I love [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] and [name_f]Dorothea[/name_f], but [name_f]Doroteya[/name_f] is easier to prounounce to me. I actually had [name_u]Harley[/name_u] as a mn first, but I feel [name_f]Harlow[/name_f] flows better.

[name_u]Juniper[/name_u] [name_f]Odette[/name_f]- I first heard [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] on a fox on instagram and immediately fell in love with it. [name_f]Odette[/name_f] I first heard on [name_m]Mark[/name_m] Ruffalo’s daughter and I’ve adored it since.

[name_f]Rosalina[/name_f] [name_f]Therese[/name_f]- I’m a big [name_m]Doctor[/name_m] Who fan and I love [name_f]Rose[/name_f], both the character and the name, but it was a bit too short for me as a given name. [name_f]Therese[/name_f] comes from the movie [name_f]Carol[/name_f]. I heard it and just thought “wow!!”

[name_f]Luanna[/name_f] [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f]- This couple I watch on Youtube (Living [name_f]Rosa[/name_f]) have a daughtet called [name_u]Lennon[/name_u], which they call [name_m]Louie[/name_m] sometimes. I thought that was so cute. [name_f]Luanna[/name_f] I first heard on a blogger. I paired it with [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] because [name_f]Luanna[/name_f] is actually more uncommon than I thought, so I wanted a classic middle.

[name_f]Calista[/name_f] [name_f]Melody[/name_f]- I love the meaning. I don’t know if I’d use it on an actual human though.

[name_m]Ianto[/name_m] [name_m]Harrison[/name_m]- [name_m]Ianto[/name_m] is a name I heard on Torchwood. I love the sound ([name_m]Jahn[/name_m]-to). I had the hardest time coming up with a middle. But then I stumbled over [name_m]Harrison[/name_m] and it just fit.

[name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u]- [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] I first heard when I researched [name_u]Salem[/name_u], MA out of curiosity. [name_u]James[/name_u] is a name I’ve always loved.

[name_m]Vincent[/name_m] [name_m]Augustus[/name_m]- I love [name_m]Vincent[/name_m] van Gogh. [name_m]Augustus[/name_m] just seemed to be the perfect middle.

[name_u]Dale[/name_u] [name_m]William[/name_m]- After [name_u]Dale[/name_u] [name_m]Cooper[/name_m] from Twin Peaks and [name_m]Fox[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m] Mulder from the X-Files. I first considered [name_u]Dale[/name_u] [name_m]Bartholomew[/name_m], but I found out that Bartholomew is the character’s mn.

[name_u]Elliot[/name_u] [name_m]Roswell[/name_m]- [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] I’ve adored for as long as I can remember, [name_m]Roswell[/name_m] because I like the sound and also it reminds me of aliens.

Not all in my signature, but some of my favorite combos.

[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]- [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] is after my great grandmother [name_u]Jessie[/name_u] [name_f]Mae[/name_f]. [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] is to pick up the other initial and also because I love the name, [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]

[name_m]Casper[/name_m] [name_u]Chase[/name_u]- [name_m]Casper[/name_m] is after the younger sibling my mother miscarried when I was 12. We never learned the gender, but my heart told me it was a girl. We took to calling the baby [name_m]Casper[/name_m] in the same way most people call their unborn babies Peanut. The miscarriage really sent my world into a whirlwind, but it shaped me into who I am. [name_u]Chase[/name_u] is in honor of my cousin who passed away when I was 13.

Elloren [name_f]Makayla[/name_f]- Elloren is just a name I like, although it could honor my mentor [name_f]Ellen[/name_f], who has been a big part of my family since I was a baby. [name_f]Makayla[/name_f] is after my cousin [name_f]Makayla[/name_f], who has always been there for me and I love dearly.

Alynn [name_f]Michelle[/name_f]- Alynn is after my dad. His middle name is [name_m]Allen[/name_m], I just changed the spelling to also incorporate my mom’s middle name ([name_u]Lynn[/name_u]). [name_f]Michelle[/name_f] is my mother’s first name.

[name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Nicole[/name_f]- [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] was always one of my favorite movies as a kid. Plus, [name_u]Matty[/name_u] and [name_f]Tilly[/name_f] make adorable nicknames. [name_f]Nicole[/name_f] is my middle name.

[name_f]Leona[/name_f] [name_u]Remy[/name_u]-Lejuez- In honor of my maternal great grandmother, [name_u]Jessie[/name_u] [name_f]Leona[/name_f]. [name_u]Remy[/name_u] is from her maiden name, Rimsha, and Lejuez was my grandmother’s maiden name. This is definitely more of a stretch from my style, but I like it because the meaning in it.

[name_m]Graham[/name_m] [name_m]Allen[/name_m]- My dad’s first initial and his middle name. I love the name [name_m]Graham[/name_m] and I love the nickname [name_u]Grey[/name_u] to go with it.

[name_u]Elliott[/name_u] [name_m]Scott[/name_m]- I have always loved the name [name_u]Elliott[/name_u]. [name_m]Scott[/name_m] is my brother’s name.

[name_u]Alden[/name_u] [name_m]Lukas[/name_m]- [name_u]Alden[/name_u] is a normalized vertion of my great grandmother’s maiden name, [name_m]Aldis[/name_m]. [name_m]Lukas[/name_m] is to honor my Dutch heritage and also I just like the name.

[name_u]Noah[/name_u] [name_u]Michael[/name_u]- [name_u]Noah[/name_u] is a name I have just always loved but also the name of one of my best friends. [name_u]Michael[/name_u] is in honor of the baby my mom lost when she was 18, long before me. My [name_f]Rainbow[/name_f] [name_u]Baby[/name_u] status is an important part of what makes me, well, me.

[name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] [name_u]Evan[/name_u]- [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] in variation of my middle name, [name_u]Evan[/name_u] is the middle name of an old friend of mine, but I have always loved it.

[name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] [name_f]Perle[/name_f] - [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] is an honor name for my favorite poet, [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] Plath. [name_f]Perle[/name_f] is the [name_m]French[/name_m] word for pearl, which was my original mn for it. Basically the same thing, sounds the same, just spelled a little different.
[name_f]Amadea[/name_f] Vérité - I just love the name [name_f]Amadea[/name_f] and Vérité is the [name_m]French[/name_m] word for truth, which is what [name_f]Verity[/name_f] means, basically. Again, the same thing and it sounds the same. I’ll probably end up using the American spellings if/when I have daughters, but it’s fun to imagine the [name_m]French[/name_m] spellings.
[name_f]Araminta[/name_f] [name_f]Bluebell[/name_f] - My newest name crush. I just think it’s super cute.
[name_f]Leonora[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] - I love the name [name_f]Leonora[/name_f] and [name_f]Rose[/name_f] goes really nicely with it.
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] Grâce - [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] is gorgeous and [name_f]Grace[/name_f] works nicely. The only difference between [name_m]French[/name_m] and English is the accent and the pronunciation. Again, I’d probably forego the accent.
[name_f]Georgiana[/name_f] [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] - I’ve been thinking on this one for a long time. I like [name_f]Georgiana[/name_f] due to its frilliness, surprisingly, and then [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] just slipped into place in the middle spot.

[name_u]Aoibheann[/name_u] - I love the name, but the spelling/pronunciation concerns are too great to overcome.
Siofra - Ditto.
Deliverance - I love virtue names, but this one is… whew. Couldn’t bestow it on a child.
Mylène - Nobody would be able to spell/pronounce it outside of Francophone areas and they’d always forget the accent.
[name_f]Iris[/name_f] - I love this but my combo with it wouldn’t fit in my siggy. [name_m]RIP[/name_m] to my combo [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_f]Iris[/name_f] “[name_f]Nell[/name_f]” – gone from my signature after a really long time XD

[name_m]Ezra[/name_m] Théophile - I love the name [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] (so many great role models and a wonderful sound, too) and Théophile was a natural evolution of [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] when I got more into [name_m]French[/name_m] stuff.
[name_m]Milo[/name_m] [name_m]Calixte[/name_m] - I searched high and low for a new middle for [name_m]Milo[/name_m] (I don’t remember what it was) when I dove deep into Francophile-ness, and [name_m]Calixte[/name_m] was my choice.
[name_u]Asa[/name_u] Raphaël - Newest name crush. I’ve been crushing on [name_u]Asa[/name_u] for a while now and [name_m]Raphael[/name_m] has been a perennial favorite.
[name_u]Everett[/name_u] [name_m]Adam[/name_m] - I like [name_u]Everett[/name_u] and [name_m]Adam[/name_m] is to honor my stepfather.
[name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] - I’ve loved [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] for years, and [name_u]James[/name_u] is a family name.
[name_u]Rhys[/name_u] [name_m]Augustine[/name_m] - I love the spelling of [name_u]Rhys[/name_u] and [name_m]Augustine[/name_m] is a [name_m]French[/name_m] evolution of the original middle, [name_m]Augustus[/name_m].

[name_m]Roman[/name_m] - again, my combo wouldn’t fit. [name_m]Roman[/name_m] [name_m]Evander[/name_m]; gone from my signature but never forgotten.
[name_m]Peregrine[/name_m] - part of @luneth’s combo [name_m]Peregrine[/name_m] [name_m]Lysander[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u]. All of the parts fit together perfectly and [name_m]Peregrine[/name_m] and [name_m]Lysander[/name_m] have landed on my long list as GPs.
[name_m]Wolfgang[/name_m] - Usable abroad but not in the U.S.
[name_m]Huckleberry[/name_m] - A good MN option. I love it sooooo much though.
[name_m]Leonidas[/name_m] - I could never bestow this on my theoretical son, as much as I like it.

Mine are all in the running for future babies. [name_f]Reina[/name_f] [name_f]Leona[/name_f] and [name_m]Javier[/name_m] [name_m]Alejandro[/name_m] are our first choices (with [name_m]Javier[/name_m] called [name_m]Javi[/name_m] for short), and we’re playing around with various combinations of the others. We’re thinking [name_m]Javier[/name_m] and [name_f]Jacinta[/name_f] would make a nice twin set if, by chance, we end up with girl/boy twins the first time around!

Oh, I love the idea for this thread!!!

[name_m]Callum[/name_m] [name_m]Benedict[/name_m]: My husband and I watch a family who does daily vlogging on YouTube and they have a little boy named [name_m]Callum[/name_m]. My husband randomly told me that he really liked that name, if we ever have a boy. I had heard the name before, but the association really made it grow on me. [name_m]Benedict[/name_m] is a name whose meaning I love (“dove”) and it connects well to our faith, even though it has more of a Catholic feel to it than our personal belief system, but I guess that is a nod to my family’s traditions, too.

[name_m]Dawson[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u]:
We both love the name [name_m]Dawson[/name_m] and this was our top until we came up with our [name_m]Callum[/name_m] combo. [name_u]James[/name_u] is a nod to my husband, as it is his middle name.

[name_m]Timothy[/name_m] [name_m]Powell[/name_m]: [name_m]Timothy[/name_m] is a solid name that we love and [name_m]Powell[/name_m] is a family name on my husband’s side. We aren’t totally sold on [name_m]Timothy[/name_m], though. We also love [name_m]Ian[/name_m] [name_m]Powell[/name_m]. Not sure yet.

[name_m]Josiah[/name_m] [name_m]Moore[/name_m]: [name_m]Josiah[/name_m] is my husband’s old favorite name. [name_m]Moore[/name_m] is after the place we met
[name_m]Cove[/name_m] [name_m]Benedict[/name_m]: We came across [name_m]Cove[/name_m] in a name video. I love how serene and peaceful it sounds, yet it seems versatile enough to picture on any type of man. [name_m]Benedict[/name_m]…yeah.

[name_f]Ada[/name_f] [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f]: We absolutely love the name [name_f]Ada[/name_f]! It’s seriously our favorite girl name! It’s also an added bonus that its meaning is shared with my name  [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] wasn’t mean to be an honor name, but it basically is one. My mom, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cousin all have the middle name [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. My late great-aunt was name [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f]. My late great-grandmother was named [name_f]Mary[/name_f]. My sister and a couple cousins have the middle name [name_f]Marie[/name_f]. The list goes on. I mainly just really love the name. Very classic and old-timey. Plus I wanted something that was a nod to my Italian heritage and it just so happens that [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] is somewhat commonly used by those from my culture

[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u]:
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] is a longtime love of mine. It has many positive historic associations with it, too. Old-fashioned, yet family. [name_u]June[/name_u] is after the month, as it has tons of significance for us. It’s my birth month (same for my brother) and it is the month we met and later (a couple years later) married in.

[name_f]Clover[/name_f] [name_u]Ellis[/name_u]: DH actually suggested [name_f]Clover[/name_f]. He loves it, for some reason. It’s grown on me a lot,b ut I get discouraged because far too many people say it is a cow’s name :frowning: [name_u]Ellis[/name_u] honors both of our heritages. We come from immigrants (most recent being my grandfather, 60-something years ago) and many of them came through [name_u]Ellis[/name_u] Island.

[name_f]Alena[/name_f] [name_f]Caroline[/name_f]: [name_f]Alena[/name_f] is a name from my family tree that I love. [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] is another name that I love and is a nod to my sister-in-law.

[name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] [name_f]Juliette[/name_f]: This has really personal, religious significance to me. It is so hopeful…but I won’t share much on this because of Nameberry rules.

[name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Annunziata[/name_f]: I love [name_f]Claire[/name_f]…came across it in a book! [name_f]Annunziata[/name_f] is a family name.

[name_f]Kate[/name_f] [name_f]Margot[/name_f]: [name_f]Kate[/name_f] is after a college friend, [name_f]Katie[/name_f], who made an impact in my life. [name_f]Margot[/name_f] is a name that I like, plus it honors two of my grandmothers without being too obvious (my mom hates them both).

I feel as though most of my girl names I have picked because I like the sound and the meaning not because there is a personal connection whereas Many of my boy names have some sort of personal connection or specific inspiration.

[name_f]Leontine[/name_f] [name_f]Esme[/name_f]: I think these names flow beautifully together and it sounds incredibly elegant in my opinion, almost regal.

[name_f]Calliope[/name_f] [name_f]Parthenia[/name_f]: This name shows my love for Greek names. I love [name_f]Calliope[/name_f] as a unique alternative to [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] and I love the nickname [name_f]Callie[/name_f]! I can just imagine a little [name_f]Callie[/name_f] running around my house.

[name_f]Greta[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f]: A more traditional sounding “old lady” name that still sounds beautiful on a little girl I think. [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] is the name of my great grandmother and I think it goes well wih [name_f]Greta[/name_f].

Aurembiaix [name_f]Honor[/name_f]: This is such a strong powerful name to me. I am OBSESSED with the name Aurembiaix. It’s so unique and it has such a great namesake! If you’re not familiar with it, I strongly suggest you look her up. [name_f]Honor[/name_f] just seemed like the logical middle name with to go with this given the history behind it. And it flows so well. I want to use this name so bad. I have spent a lot of time imagining how my little [name_u]Ari[/name_u] would turn out.

[name_f]Verity[/name_f] [name_f]Georgiana[/name_f]: I just love this name! It’s so cute and unique without being too crazy. [name_m]Just[/name_m] simple and nice.

[name_m]Caius[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m]: [name_m]Caius[/name_m] is definitely at the top of my favorite boy names list. I would use the nickname [name_u]Cai[/name_u]. And [name_m]William[/name_m] is the name of my great grandfather whom I would love to honor.

[name_u]Raven[/name_u] [name_m]Magnus[/name_m]: [name_u]Raven[/name_u] is inspired by my love for [name_m]Edgar[/name_m] [name_m]Allen[/name_m] [name_u]Poe[/name_u] and the namesake “The [name_u]Raven[/name_u]”. I think the name is so cute on a boy! And I think the name [name_m]Magnus[/name_m] is incredibly strong and beautiful.

[name_m]Walden[/name_m] [name_m]Amadeus[/name_m]: Another literary inspired name. [name_m]Walden[/name_m] is inspired by my love for “[name_m]Walden[/name_m]” by [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]David[/name_m] [name_m]Thoreau[/name_m]. I’m an environmentalist and minimalist and [name_m]Walden[/name_m] is a huge influence to me. And again, I love names ending in -us. Strong and manly.

[name_m]Franklin[/name_m] [name_m]Pierce[/name_m]: [name_m]Franklin[/name_m] is my grandfathers name who I am very close to and I would love to use the nickname [name_u]Frankie[/name_u]. [name_m]Pierce[/name_m] is a nod to my mother’s side of the family. It is my great grandmother’s maiden name.

[name_m]Felix[/name_m] [name_m]Yancey[/name_m]: I think the name [name_m]Felix[/name_m] is super cute and works well on a little boy or a grown man. And I also partially like this because it is a subtle nod to the place I grew up in. The county I am from is named after [name_m]Felix[/name_m] Grundy. [name_m]Yancey[/name_m] is not a name I particularly like on its own but it is a family name that has been used for Generations in my dad’s Native American family so I really want to incorporate this name somehow in the future.

I don’t have combos made yet, so I’m just going to list the names

[name_u]Meredith[/name_u]: my grandmother’s middle name, and a middle name I plan on using for my future children.
[name_f]Jade[/name_f]: an honor name to my favorite color, green, and sort of an honor name to my dad, [name_u]James[/name_u].
[name_f]Pearl[/name_f]: my great grandmother’s name, who died before I got the chance to meet her.
[name_f]Victoria[/name_f]: this is the name of a personal hero of mine, as well as my favorite name.
[name_f]Sarai[/name_f]: the middle name of a close friend & inspiration.
[name_f]Renee[/name_f]: a variation of my best friend’s name.
[name_f]Serena[/name_f]: sort of an honor name for my hero, as it means peace and tranquility.
[name_u]Shannon[/name_u]: the first name of another close friend and inspiration, someone who means a lot to me.
[name_f]Helena[/name_f]: a variation of my other great grandmother’s name, [name_f]Helen[/name_f].
[name_f]Susan[/name_f]: a family friend’s name

[name_m]Andrew[/name_m]: the masculine version of my great aunt’s name, [name_u]Andrea[/name_u]
[name_u]James[/name_u]: my dad’s name
[name_m]Thomas[/name_m]: my uncle’s name
[name_m]Theodore[/name_m]: my brother’s middle name
[name_u]Jordan[/name_u]: my other brother’s middle name
[name_m]William[/name_m]: my grandfather’s name
[name_m]Joseph[/name_m]: my dad’s middle name
[name_m]Jackson[/name_m]: a variation of my grandpa [name_m]Jack[/name_m]'s name

[name_u]Everett[/name_u] [name_m]Arrow[/name_m] - [name_u]Everett[/name_u] is a name that my partner loves that I wasn’t so sure of at first but it grew on me and now I adore it. I love it’s connection to the meaning “brave”. [name_m]Arrow[/name_m] was chosen because an arrow represents moving forward even the path is constrained by bow, which stands for struggle in your life. When you pull the bow back, arrow gets released from the bow. In short, bow propels the arrow forward and helps to seek a better thing in life.

[name_m]Callum[/name_m] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] - I love [name_m]Callum[/name_m]'s meaning “dove”, which reminds me of my mother and childhood. We get a family of doves that build a nest and have babies in our backyard every year. [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] is my grandfather’s name, he passed away a few years ago.

[name_m]Arthur[/name_m] [name_m]Peregrine[/name_m] - [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] is my grandfather’s name. [name_m]Peregrine[/name_m] is after the main character Miss [name_m]Peregrine[/name_m] in [name_m]Ransom[/name_m] Riggs novel “Miss [name_m]Peregrine[/name_m]'s Home for Peculiar Children”, a favourite series of mine.

[name_m]Clark[/name_m] Valour - [name_m]Clark[/name_m], I love because of it’s connection with Superman. I am a big nerd and love all superhero films. Valour was chosen for it’s meaning of “brave”.

[name_u]Rowan[/name_u] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] - [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] was the first name I ever fell in love with. I saw it in 2002 in People Magazine when [name_u]Brooke[/name_u] Shields used it for her daughter. It sparked my love of names. [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] is after my best friend who’s middle name was [name_f]Mae[/name_f], I also love the Irish mythology connection.

Freyja [name_f]Marie[/name_f] - Freyja is a name we both just love, I love the connection to Norse mythology. My partner likes the spelling of the original Norse name. [name_f]Marie[/name_f] is after my mother in laws middle name and the middle name of a nurse who changed my life when I was hospitalized.

[name_f]Margot[/name_f] Edelweiss - [name_f]Margot[/name_f] is a name we both love, and I love it’s meaning of “pearl”. Edelweiss is for the song from The Sound of [name_f]Music[/name_f].

[name_f]Etta[/name_f] [name_m]Peregrine[/name_m] - [name_f]Etta[/name_f] is a name we both love. [name_m]Peregrine[/name_m] is after the main character Miss [name_m]Peregrine[/name_m] in [name_m]Ransom[/name_m] Riggs novel “Miss [name_m]Peregrine[/name_m]'s Home for Peculiar Children”, a favourite series of mine.

[name_f]Henrietta[/name_f] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] - [name_f]Henrietta[/name_f] is after my great grandfather who’s middle name is [name_m]Henry[/name_m] which is a favourite name of both my partner’s and myself but unfortunately it’s too common for my tastes. I also love that it gives us the nickname [name_f]Etta[/name_f]. [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] is after my best friend who’s middle name was [name_f]Mae[/name_f].

[name_f]Willa[/name_f] [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] - Willasue is my grandmother’s name, I absolutely love it. I changed it around to [name_f]Willa[/name_f] [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] so that it would honor my grandmother Willasue, while also not being as out there and also honoring my sisters who have the middle name [name_f]Sue[/name_f] and the name [name_f]Anna[/name_f] in their names.

[name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] Nightingale - [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] is my great grandmother’s name. Nightingale is after the song by [name_f]Demi[/name_f] Lovato.

[name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] - [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] because it means “she who brings happiness”. [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] because of the flower and the meaning of remembrance day behind it.

[name_m]Forrester[/name_m] [name_u]North[/name_u]- I love trees. I love the forest. I love the [name_u]North[/name_u]. What more is there to say

[name_u]Sky[/name_u] [name_u]Remington[/name_u]- I love the open air, the sky and everything in it. The stars, moon, sun and airplanes! Therefore, [name_u]Sky[/name_u]. [name_u]Remington[/name_u] is a little harder to pin down why I love it. It’s something about the sound, look, and potential of nickname [name_u]Remy[/name_u] if I’d use it as a first. And I think the gun reference might make my boyfriend a little more open minded to it, since he’s a hunter at heart, so that’s a bonus!

[name_u]Brighton[/name_u] [name_m]Fox[/name_m]- I once knew the darlingest little boy with the most courageous story, named [name_u]Bright[/name_u] and I fell in love. I am not sure I am brave enough to use just [name_u]Bright[/name_u] alone, so I found [name_u]Brighton[/name_u] and it was perfect. Nn [name_u]Bright[/name_u]. I love foxes and I love the quick, sharp feel of the name [name_m]Fox[/name_m].

[name_f]Azura[/name_f] [name_f]Star[/name_f]- [name_u]Blue[/name_u] is my favourite colour. I would love to use just [name_f]Azure[/name_f] but unfortunately it doesn’t flow at all with boyfriend’s last name so [name_f]Azura[/name_f] it is, which is a absolutely gorgeous variant. Nn [name_f]Azure[/name_f]. I have something for stars, I can’t resist anything with stars. So many of my clothes have stars on them, my room is full of stars, etc. So [name_f]Azura[/name_f] [name_f]Star[/name_f].

[name_f]Aurora[/name_f] [name_u]Blue[/name_u]- I love the north as I said, and a big part of that is the aurora borealis. I like the nn [name_u]Rory[/name_u] too. But I do worry about [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] becoming too popular for me, so I’ve paired it with the uncommon [name_u]Blue[/name_u]. As previously mentioned I love the colour [name_u]Blue[/name_u].

[name_f]Araluen[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f]- I don’t know where I discovered [name_f]Araluen[/name_f], but it was love at first sight. All the perfect sounds combined in one name, and a beautiful meaning to complete it. (It means somethings like “the place of water lilies”). [name_f]Eve[/name_f] is a longtime love of mine, that I feel is the perfect blend of familiar but unexpected, to pair with [name_f]Araluen[/name_f].

[name_f]Indira[/name_f] [name_u]Oakley[/name_u]- [name_f]Indira[/name_f] is just a most beautiful name. I love the nn [name_f]Indie[/name_f]. [name_u]Oakley[/name_u] is partly from my love of trees, my whole family in general has a thing for oak trees. And [name_u]Oakley[/name_u] is also a nod to my boyfriend.

[name_f]Pandora[/name_f] [name_u]Willoughby[/name_u]- [name_f]Pandora[/name_f] is another name I just cannot resist, the sound and the most darling nickname (that I found on nameberry), Panda. I adore panda bears. [name_u]Willoughby[/name_u] is also the tree connection again, I love willows.

[name_m]Enoch[/name_m] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] - I fell in love with [name_m]Enoch[/name_m] after hearing it in the movie Miss [name_m]Peregrine[/name_m]'s Home for Peculiar Children. [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] is my grandfathers name.

[name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] - [name_m]Henry[/name_m] is a favourite of both mine and my partner, it’s also my great grandfathers middle name. [name_u]James[/name_u] is my fathers name.

[name_f]Calla[/name_f] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] - [name_f]Calla[/name_f] [name_f]Lilies[/name_f] are my favourite flowers and a flower that reminds me of my grandmother. [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] is after my best friend who’s middle name is [name_f]Mae[/name_f].

[name_f]Elowen[/name_f] [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] - [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] is just a name that I love and my partner agreed to. [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] was my grandmothers name.

[name_f]Hannah[/name_f] [name_u]Leigh[/name_u] - [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] has always been a favorite name of mine. It’s sweet and easy to spell/pronounce, but not overly common. I also love that it’s a Hebrew name like mine ([name_f]Jessica[/name_f]) and that it means “[name_f]Grace[/name_f]”. [name_u]Leigh[/name_u] is my middle name.

[name_u]Finlay[/name_u] [name_f]Sage[/name_f] - [name_u]Finlay[/name_u] is the first name DH and I have agreed on, and I’m thrilled! I love that it’s a Scottish/Irish name, which is mostly where my family is from. It’s a great unisex name, making it easy to use for a boy or girl. We plan to use it if we have a little girl. [name_f]Sage[/name_f] means “wise”, which is what we know she would be.

[name_f]Lisbeth[/name_f] [name_f]Marin[/name_f] - [name_f]Lisbeth[/name_f] is a variant of [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], which is the middle name of both my grandmothers, my sister, and DH’s mother and sister. We like that it’s different but not too “out there”. [name_f]Marin[/name_f] is a female variant of DH’s middle name, Marnyn.

[name_m]Elijah[/name_m] [name_m]Frank[/name_m] - [name_m]Elijah[/name_m] is DH’s favorite boy name. To quote Nameberry, it’s “the name of the Old Testament prophet who went to heaven in a chariot of fire.” We figure we can’t set our son up any better than that. [name_m]Frank[/name_m] is the first name of DH’s grandfather and father.

[name_u]Kirby[/name_u] [name_m]Allen[/name_m] - DH loves [name_u]Kirby[/name_u]. I keep it on our short list because he’s made it a point to tell me he likes the name, which is rare for him. I feel like it could turn into a nickname, as I can’t see it aging well as a first name. [name_m]Allen[/name_m] is my father’s middle name.

[name_f]Briar[/name_f] [name_u]Francis[/name_u] - Another unisex name we love. [name_f]Briar[/name_f] feels cozy and it goes well with our last name. [name_u]Francis[/name_u] is a more formal variant of [name_m]Frank[/name_m]. It also works for a girl, making it a front runner for us once we get pregnant.

It’s really cool reading everybody’s explanations of their names. I love how everyone has come up with their beautiful/handsome combos and/or names

Here are mine using the current names in my signature:

Anaxandra [name_f]Melody[/name_f] [name_u]Pepper[/name_u]: Anaxandra was the name of the leading female character in a book I read in high school called “[name_f]Goddess[/name_f] of Yesterday.” It was an amazing fictonal book set during Trojan war. Anaxandra is also an Ancient Greek name meaning “defending men” and was the name of a famous female artist from that time period. I have a strong love of Greek names. It’s also nice that it’s familiar yet different. [name_f]Melody[/name_f] was a name I loved as a kid and [name_u]Pepper[/name_u] I first found in a book in middle school and thought the name was cool.
[name_f]Annabeth[/name_f] [name_u]Onyx[/name_u] [name_f]Demetria[/name_f]: [name_f]Annabeth[/name_f] I love because of the [name_u]Percy[/name_u] [name_m]Jackson[/name_m] books. Those books may as well as been my childhood. [name_f]Demetria[/name_f] I fell in love with as a kid (it’s [name_f]Demi[/name_f] Lovato’s real name, which is where I first heard it if you don’t count the spelling [name_f]Demitra[/name_f] used in Spy Kids 3) Also, it’s a variant of [name_u]Demeter[/name_u], a goddess name that doesn’t sound nearly as beautiful as others like [name_f]Athena[/name_f] and [name_u]Artemis[/name_u]. [name_u]Onyx[/name_u] I discovered in the series Vampire Kisses. (I never did finish reading this series) and I thought it was a super cool name. I love it way more than the more common [name_f]Opal[/name_f], anyway.

[name_u]Artemis[/name_u] [name_f]Adabella[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]: [name_u]Artemis[/name_u] is my favourite Greek goddess. I’ve always thought the name was strong, yet feminine. [name_f]Adabella[/name_f] I discovered I think on another baby name site and thought it was cute. I pronounce it more like [name_m]Add[/name_m]-uh instead of Aid-uh like how [name_f]Ada[/name_f] is pronounced though. Not sure if that’s quite correct. I love both pronunciations though. [name_f]Jane[/name_f] I love because of [name_f]Jane[/name_f] of the Volturi. They were naturally my favourite back when I was a Twihard teenager, lol.

[name_f]Athena[/name_f] [name_f]Lilith[/name_f] [name_u]Reed[/name_u]: [name_f]Athena[/name_f] has easily been in my favourite goddess names since the very first book I cracked open about the [name_m]Greco[/name_m]-[name_m]Roman[/name_m] gods. I think it was “[name_f]Juliet[/name_f] [name_u]Dove[/name_u], [name_f]Queen[/name_f] of [name_u]Love[/name_u]…” [name_f]Lilith[/name_f] is a newer love. I didn’t fall in love with it until the last year. [name_u]Reed[/name_u] is my sister’s middle name and I just adore it! And I’m not one to care for family names much.
[name_f]Bianca[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Xanthene[/name_f]: [name_f]Bianca[/name_f] I fell in love with when reading the [name_u]Percy[/name_u] [name_m]Jackson[/name_m] books. I think several names on this list will have that reason. I’d known someone with the name in elementary school, too. We weren’t friends, exactly. [name_f]Violet[/name_f] I love because that name is my childhood. Boxcar Children, Series Of Unfortunate Events, [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] and the Chocolate Factory. Oh, and the Incredibles. Too bad it’s so popular though. I would love to have it in the first name spot.

[name_u]Ellington[/name_u] [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]: I fell in love with the name [name_u]Ellington[/name_u] the moment I cracked open “All The Wrong Questions” It’s so elegant and sleek. [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] I fell in love with when I read “The Importance of Being [name_m]Earnest[/name_m]” in my last year of high school. [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is an interesting love. It’s new, I fell in love with it this year. My parents were so close to naming me it. They wanted a [name_u]Charlie[/name_u], but hated [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]. Hysterically, I just had a class with a group project with TWO [name_f]Charli[/name_f]/[name_u]Charlie[/name_u]'s. Lol. I guess I lucked out. This is my favourite combo on the list at this moment.
[name_f]Erika[/name_f] Arsinoë [name_f]Blythe[/name_f]: [name_f]Erika[/name_f] I loved since I was a kid. I’d have to guess it was because of the [name_f]Barbie[/name_f] “[name_f]Princess[/name_f] of The Pauper.” Arsinoë I just adore. It’s my all-time favourite name and I’d change my name to it if I didn’t think my mother would flip out on me for getting rid of the honour name she gave me. I fell in love with that name because of a [name_f]Cleopatra[/name_f] documentary one of my sister’s was watching. [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] I never considered a name until I watched that “My Littlest [name_f]Pet[/name_f] Shop” show. I thought it was cute. I’m just worried about naming a kid that anywhere in the name because favourite boy name is [name_m]Gilbert[/name_m]…
[name_f]Josslyn[/name_f] [name_f]Pallas[/name_f] [name_f]Bree[/name_f]: [name_f]Josslyn[/name_f] I’ve loved since elementary school. Kind of had a small kid crush on a girl with that name (it’s not weird when you keep in mind that second-grade me probably didn’t think it was a crush) I just loved that name. [name_f]Pallas[/name_f] I love because it’s one of [name_f]Athena[/name_f]'s names. Also, yes a little because it sounds like [name_m]Palace[/name_m]. I kind of imagine a girl with like dark olive skin, straight black hair, with a blue hat over her head. If I decide to have biological babies, somehow the likelihood of a baby with these criteria are not particularly likely.
[name_f]Serafina[/name_f] Nightshade [name_f]Noelle[/name_f]: I knew a girl named [name_f]Serafina[/name_f]. With this spelling yes. Plus, I love the fiery sound to the name. Nightshade I really love as a girl’s name. I’d put in the front spot but I think people wouldn’t hire my daughter with that name. Too bad. I love how strong it is. [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] I just adore. Teenage Dirtbag and “It’s Kind Of Funny [name_u]Story[/name_u]”
[name_f]Aeliana[/name_f]- Fell in love with this name when I saw it in an Ancient [name_m]Roman[/name_m] name list once. It’s super pretty
[name_f]Arabella[/name_f]-I discovered this one about the same time and place I found [name_f]Adabella[/name_f]. It’s super popular though which is sad.
[name_f]Drucilla[/name_f]-Main character of “Time Of The Witches.” Super cool name
[name_f]Minerva[/name_f]-Ancient [name_m]Roman[/name_m] goddess name. I just adore it. I knew someone named it too.
[name_f]Xanthe[/name_f]- Fell in love with this name because of the book “[name_m]Troy[/name_m].” I wouldn’t recommend that book. I didn’t like it much.
[name_f]Valerie[/name_f]- I’ve loved this since I was a kid
[name_f]Mallory[/name_f]- Same as [name_f]Valerie[/name_f].
[name_f]Fawn[/name_f]-Started liking this name because…. I think there was a Bratz doll named [name_f]Fawn[/name_f] or a pixie in Tinkerbell and I thought it was cute? Can’t remember now. It makes a cool middle name.
[name_f]Margot[/name_f]- I’ve loved this name for the longest time! I definitely prefer this name to the spelling [name_f]Margo[/name_f].
Polyxena- I discovered this name in the same book as [name_f]Xanthe[/name_f], but there was also a Trojan princess named this name (not the same character as was in [name_m]Troy[/name_m]). She was one of [name_m]Achilles[/name_m]’ lovers.
[name_f]El[/name_f]żbieta- I just love this name! It’s so pretty! I was looking up more [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] variants and I just fell in love with this name!
[name_m]Alec[/name_m] [name_m]Ivan[/name_m] [name_m]Apollo[/name_m]-[name_m]Alec[/name_m] I love for the same reason I love [name_f]Jane[/name_f]. The “witch twins” were my favourite Twilight characters. [name_m]Alec[/name_m] is also my second-favourite name. I would have loved a spinoff book just about them. [name_m]Ivan[/name_m] (Ee-vahn) I love because of Hetalia. It gets tiring hearing Anglo people pronounce it I-van, so unfortunately I’d probably never use it as a first name. [name_m]Apollo[/name_m] I love because of the Gods. I’d totally use this name as a first name with boy/girl twins if my partner whenever I get married would let me. As long as the other kid was named [name_u]Artemis[/name_u]. I’m a nerd like that.
[name_m]Gilbert[/name_m] [name_m]Adrian[/name_m] [name_m]Demetri[/name_m]-[name_m]Gilbert[/name_m] I love because of Hetalia (it’s my favourite name too.) The nn [name_m]Gil[/name_m] is super cute as well. [name_m]Adrian[/name_m] I love because of Beastly, and [name_m]Demetri[/name_m] is another Twilight love. I think I might also love it for the reason I love [name_f]Demetria[/name_f] and [name_f]Demi[/name_f] too.
Lovino [name_m]Garrison[/name_m] [name_u]Blaize[/name_u]-Lovino is my fifth favourite boy name at this point. Another Hetalia name! They’ll be a lot of these in the boys names. Me and my current partner also have a close connection with this character. [name_m]Garrison[/name_m] I love because of the trilogy “School of Fear.” I highly recommend these books even though they’re for kids. [name_u]Blaize[/name_u] is just super cool.
[name_u]Nico[/name_u] [name_m]Prosper[/name_m] [name_m]Atticus[/name_m]-[name_u]Nico[/name_u] I love because of [name_u]Percy[/name_u] [name_m]Jackson[/name_m]. I love this name. Fourth favourite name I think. [name_m]Prosper[/name_m] I love because of “The Thief [name_m]Lord[/name_m].” It’s also the name of a character in “All The Wrong Questions.” [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] I’ve loved since I read To Kill A Mockingbird back in middle school.
[name_m]Perseus[/name_m] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] [name_f]Ciel[/name_f]: [name_m]Perseus[/name_m] is one of my favourite demigod names! [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] I love because of Hetalia but also because of [name_m]King[/name_m] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m]. [name_f]Ciel[/name_f] is my current second favourite boy name. I love it because of [name_m]Black[/name_m] [name_m]Butler[/name_m]. The only problem is my not-an-anime-fan’s son is named [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] after the character in [name_u]Reign[/name_u] and I’m not sure she’d be amused if I used this as a first name. [name_u]Ever[/name_u]. Sad though.
[name_m]Prosper[/name_m] [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] [name_m]Achilles[/name_m]- I normally don’t use the same name twice on my signature anymore, but I didn’t notice I did until now. Whoops. Oh well. [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] I love because of “A Chronicles Of [name_f]Narnia[/name_f].” He was my favourite Pevensie. [name_m]Achilles[/name_m] I love because of the Greek [name_u]Hero[/name_u].
[name_m]Scipio[/name_m] [name_m]Matthew[/name_m] [name_m]Klaus[/name_m]-[name_m]Scipio[/name_m] I love because of “The Thief [name_m]Lord[/name_m].” [name_m]Matthew[/name_m] because of Hetalia, and [name_m]Klaus[/name_m] because of “A Series Of Unfortunate Events.”
[name_m]Osiris[/name_m]- I really love this Ancient Egyptian god name. Wouldn’t be a good first name, but really awesome middle name.
[name_m]Ajax[/name_m]-I love this Ancient Greek [name_u]Hero[/name_u] name!
[name_m]Alois[/name_m]-I love because of [name_m]Black[/name_m] [name_m]Butler[/name_m]. I was slightly less enchanted when I learned it was the name of Hitler’s father so it’s been degraded to middle name only, unfortunately….
[name_m]Romano[/name_m]-I love this name because of Hetalia. Also, it’s a super cool common Italian name.
[name_u]Daryl[/name_u]- I have to admit I love this spelling of this name because of The Walking Dead (the show, obviously, not the comics.) I don’t like other spellings such as [name_u]Darryl[/name_u] or [name_u]Darrell[/name_u].
[name_m]Foster[/name_m]-I’ve always been fond of this name for a middle….
[name_u]Seth[/name_u]-I love this name! For a middle, it’s too popular. I’ve always adored it though.
[name_m]Ian[/name_m]-Fell in love with this name because of “The Host.” Too popular for a first now though.
[name_m]Pollux[/name_m]- I really do love my Ancient Greek names. Unfortunately, it will never be used in a twin name because I don’t like [name_m]Castor[/name_m] at all. I’m really nerdy with twin names. I think my partner will have to bring me down from crazy pairing twin names if I ever adopt/have twins.
