Wow, thanks for the massive response so far guys!
Let’s see what’s the common denominator in terms of individual names…
[name_f]Opal[/name_f] is nice in theory, but problematic due to traces, speech impediments is what they truly are, of a regional accent in my native language. I can’t get the -al right.
[name_f]Odessa[/name_f] has a lovely sound, but I associate it with the city in Ukraine too much to regard it as a name.
[name_f]Olive[/name_f] is adorable!
[name_f]Octavia[/name_f] - classy but more middle name material
[name_f]Odile[/name_f] - how could I forget, I have it on my list!! [name_u]Love[/name_u] it.
[name_f]Ottilie[/name_f]/[name_f]Ottilia[/name_f] - this translates better as a first name than [name_f]Octavia[/name_f] but I still find it a tad heavy as a first but this could potentially convince me one day as a first because even though it’s frilly it’s still somehow got a lighter quality to it.
[name_f]Oceane[/name_f] - lovely, this is actually pretty usable, but I’d personally have to overcome the fact that I’m literally naming my child ‘[name_u]Ocean[/name_u]’ and am doing a bad job at hiding it.
[name_f]Oceana[/name_f] - partly solves the [name_u]Ocean[/name_u] issue, but I find myself preferring [name_f]Oceane[/name_f]
[name_f]Odilia[/name_f] - is like a nice mix of [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Odile[/name_f]!
[name_f]Odette[/name_f]/[name_f]Odetta[/name_f] - I like it but I have a hard time picturing what a little girl with this name would be like
Olivie - does sound nice, but looks unfinished (everyone’s going to think you dropped an r)
[name_f]Oriana[/name_f] - sweet, but feels like a rip off now [name_f]Ariana[/name_f]'s so popular.
[name_f]Ondine[/name_f] - I used to love this but I think it’s a bit on the clunky side right now
[name_f]Olwen[/name_f] - I am conflicted about this one, on the one hand I love it, on the other hand I feel it’s a tad too masculine due to the fact that it’s nearly [name_u]Owen[/name_u]
[name_f]Orinthia[/name_f] - now that’s interesting! it has a kind of mystical quality to it
[name_f]Orina[/name_f] - sounds awkward when I say it
[name_f]Orsa[/name_f] - spunky and fun in English, weird in my native language despite nearly identical pronunciations
[name_f]Olympia[/name_f] - I like this more as a middle, it’s really frilly and has a strong association that I wouldn’t dare to take on as a first
[name_f]Ottoline[/name_f]/[name_f]Ottiline[/name_f] - it’s intriguing
[name_f]Oliana[/name_f] - this one’s interesting because I currently am rediscovering the whole ‘ian’-in the middle type of name, so definitely adding that one
[name_f]Olivette[/name_f] - this one’s oddly compelling, like you can imagine any type of girl with this name even though it’s so specific. I like it!
[name_f]Oriole[/name_f] - I had this one figured out for boys, but then as [name_m]Oriol[/name_m] so I find it weird on a girl
[name_f]Odelette[/name_f] - looks too much like omelette…
