We’re in Australia and I’ve heard of a few [name_m]Zeke[/name_m]’s. My husband is quite taken with the name and keeps coming back to it. I think we’d use [name_m]Zeke[/name_m] as a nn and give him a full name of [name_m]Ezekiel[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u].
I have to admit, it always sounds a little…slimey and unpleasant to me (sorry), but i think that’s probably just me. It is distinctive and [name_m]Zeke[/name_m] makes a cute nn
[name_m]Zeke[/name_m] is cute, but, I don’t know. [name_m]Ezekiel[/name_m]'s always felt intensely religious to me, and I personally don’t like how popular it is (USA top 90). I feel like because of how unusual it sounds and how popular it is nowadays it’ll feel very 2019-trendy in 20 years.
I find [name_m]Ezekiel[/name_m] a pretty ugly name tbh
The only time I think it’s tolerable is when it’s pronounced in a Brazilian accent.
I would just go with [name_m]Zeke[/name_m]
I really like it. I love [name_m]Zeke[/name_m].
If you really aren’t sure, you could use any other name with a prominent Z (or Z sound) and use the nickname [name_m]Zeke[/name_m] or [name_m]Zeek[/name_m]. ([name_m]Zachary[/name_m], [name_f]Azaria[/name_f], [name_m]Isadore[/name_m]…)
I used to think [name_m]Ezekiel[/name_m] was too much, but I’m really loving it lately. It’s such a strong, handsome name! I can see it on a business man or a cowboy, an adult or a little boy. [name_m]Ezekiel[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] is, overall, a great name, in my opinion!
I love the name [name_m]Ezekiel[/name_m]! It’s one of my GPs. I think [name_m]Ezekiel[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] is gorgeous, and [name_m]Zeke[/name_m] is an adorable and very usable nickname. I think [name_m]Ezekiel[/name_m] sounds polished and a bit mysterious, while [name_m]Zeke[/name_m] sounds sweet and playful. I can definitely see this name becoming more popular given the rise in names with the letter z in them, and names that are less mainstream.
I absolutely love the name [name_m]Ezekiel[/name_m]. I wish i could use it myself, but my best friend named her son this, so i can’t
his nick names are [name_m]Zeke[/name_m], and E-Z, but when he introduces himself its always [name_m]Ezekiel[/name_m], also in his elementary school, he is the only one!
It probably isn’t very helpful to hear people simply say they don’t like this name/find it ugly. If there is potential for bad association or teasing, that could be useful advice, otherwise it doesn’t really help you much. There’s not a single name out there that everyone in the world likes, and you are the one calling him by name forever. For the record, I think [name_m]Ezekiel[/name_m] is a very strong and handsome name, but it only matters if you think so too! You said there are Ezekiels where you live, and [name_m]Zeke[/name_m] is a nice and accessible nickname. If you love it, absolutely use it
[name_u]Love[/name_u] the name. I would definitely call him [name_m]Zeke[/name_m] vs [name_m]Zeek[/name_m], he would be called [name_m]Zeek[/name_m] the Geek. When he gets older he has more options with [name_m]Ezekiel[/name_m]. Ez as in eh z. [name_m]Kiel[/name_m] like [name_u]Kyle[/name_u].
