Ezra, Jonah, Avery and more! WDYT?

My friends from college have recently had kids and I thought this would be a pretty good place to share their names. I also found some names from recent birth announcements. A lot of them were interesting. Some popular while others offbeat. I’d love to know what you think!

Boys:
[name]Ezra[/name] [name]Arthur[/name]
[name]Jonah[/name] [name]Blake[/name]
[name]Avery[/name] [name]Silas[/name]
[name]Bryce[/name] [name]Lennon[/name] (family name)
[name]Sutton[/name] [name]Rhys[/name]
[name]Oliver[/name] [name]Beckham[/name]

Girls:
[name]Jules[/name] [name]Amelia[/name] (Yes, just “[name]Jules[/name].” My best friend used this one. Not sure what to make of it)
[name]Leighton[/name] [name]Rose[/name]
[name]Harper[/name] [name]Lila[/name]
[name]Remy[/name] [name]Winter[/name] [name]Grace[/name] (yes, just [name]Remy[/name])

I don’t want to voice my opinion before hearing yours! So have at it

[name]LOVE[/name] [name]Ezra[/name] [name]Arthur[/name]! So handsome! I like [name]Jonah[/name] but not [name]Blake[/name], [name]Silas[/name] but not [name]Avery[/name], [name]Lennon[/name] but not [name]Bryce[/name], [name]Rhys[/name] but not [name]Sutton[/name], and I’m not a huge fan of either [name]Oliver[/name] or [name]Beckham[/name]. As far as girls, I think [name]Jules[/name] [name]Amelia[/name] is kind of cool. I don’t like [name]Leighton[/name] at all, [name]Harper[/name] is ok, and I actually kind of like [name]Remy[/name], but on a girl I prefer the spelling [name]Remi[/name].

I am not a fan of [name]Sutton[/name] either or [name]Beckham[/name] for that matter. I do love [name]Oliver[/name], [name]Ezra[/name] & [name]Jonah[/name]!
I think [name]Jules[/name] seems kind of incomplete of a name but together it flows so I guess it’s not too bad!

I love a lot of these! [name]Ezra[/name] [name]Arthur[/name] and [name]Harper[/name] [name]Lila[/name] in particular, but I am absolutely tickled pink to see [name]Avery[/name] on a boy! I really love [name]Jonah[/name], [name]Oliver[/name], and [name]Rhys[/name], too. While I wouldn’t use [name]Jules[/name] on its own, I do like it a lot and I think it makes a great nn for [name]Juliet[/name], [name]Julia[/name], [name]Juliana[/name], and [name]Julian[/name]. It’s one of those few names/nicknames that I absolutely love on both genders. I have to say, though, I’m pleasantly surprised by [name]Jules[/name] [name]Amelia[/name]. I really like it, for some reason. I think [name]Juliet[/name] [name]Amelia[/name] nn [name]Jules[/name] would have been a better choice, but I’m inexplicably drawn to just [name]Jules[/name] [name]Amelia[/name].

I would have preferred to see [name]Lila[/name] up front for [name]Harper[/name] [name]Lila[/name], but I have to say as a combo, I like [name]Harper[/name] [name]Lila[/name] more than [name]Lila[/name] [name]Harper[/name].

I definitely see what you mean about [name]Jules[/name] [name]Amelia[/name]. It’s interesting but I love your combo of [name]Juliet[/name] [name]Amelia[/name]. [name]How[/name] pretty!

And by the way, I love the names in your signature

The best boy choice to me, by far, is [name]Avery[/name] [name]Silas[/name]. I have [name]Avery[/name] [name]Jamison[/name] on my list for boys and I am really liking [name]Silas[/name]. Two great names. I honestly don’t care for any of the girl names. If the [name]Jules[/name] was actually [name]Julia[/name] or [name]Juliet[/name] I would like it but I’m not a fan of [name]Jules[/name] for a given name or a nickname. I do like [name]Amelia[/name] and [name]Lila[/name] and while I don’t necessarily care for [name]Leighton[/name] for a boy or girl, I think [name]Leighton[/name] [name]Rose[/name] has a nice pretty sound.

Boys:
[name]Ezra[/name] [name]Arthur[/name]
[name]Jonah[/name] [name]Blake[/name]
[name]Bryce[/name] [name]Lennon[/name]
[name]Oliver[/name] [name]Beckham[/name]

Girls:
[name]Remy[/name] [name]Winter[/name] [name]Grace[/name]

I am tripping over toddler/ baby [name]Harper[/name]'s in my college BA’s. Funny because then I see their mom son FB complain they “had no clue it was so popular”. But seriously, over the past 2 or so years there has been at least one if not two in a list of 20 or so names. I remember one time there were two [name]Harper[/name] [name]Grace[/name]'s even. I had thought of it as “itellectual trendy” but after Posh and [name]Beckham[/name] named their wee one this its going to be popping up everywhere.
I really like [name]Ezra[/name] [name]Arthur[/name] and the others are either ok or nms. [name]Leighton[/name] is probably my least favorite name although I am sure she is adorable.

I don’t really like any of them - they just sound almost like they were trying too hard to think of something unique, but to still be “normal” - I want people to dive in or not try so hard, you know? Btw, [name]Love[/name] love love love love all your names. Gorgeous! And congrats on your 6th. We are adopting and hoping for more than 1 this time around so we’ll have 6.

I dislike [name]Avery[/name] for a boy. I think it is just mean. Sorry.

[name]Ezra[/name] [name]Arthur[/name] & [name]Jonah[/name] [name]Blake[/name] are both really appealing to me, but I’ve loved [name]Ezra[/name] for a hundred years or so.

I also like [name]Silas[/name] and [name]Rhys[/name].

The only girls names there I find palatable are [name]Lila[/name] and [name]Winter[/name].

Boys:
[name]Ezra[/name] [name]Arthur[/name] - Like [name]Ezra[/name], don’t care for [name]Arthur[/name]
[name]Jonah[/name] [name]Blake[/name] - [name]Both[/name] of these are just ok names, i[name]MO[/name]
[name]Avery[/name] [name]Silas[/name] - [name]LOVE[/name]. Such a handsome combo
[name]Bryce[/name] [name]Lennon[/name] (family name) - [name]Bryce[/name] is dull, [name]Lennon[/name] is ok
[name]Sutton[/name] [name]Rhys[/name] - [name]LOVE[/name]! Two strong, handsome names. Great combo
[name]Oliver[/name] [name]Beckham[/name] - Cute. Like [name]Oliver[/name], not sold on [name]Beckham[/name]

Girls:
[name]Jules[/name] [name]Amelia[/name] (Yes, just “[name]Jules[/name].” My best friend used this one. Not sure what to make of it) - I really like it. I think [name]Jules[/name] stands well on its own. Pretty combo
[name]Leighton[/name] [name]Rose[/name] - [name]Don[/name]'t care for [name]Rose[/name], just seems like a filler name. [name]Leighton[/name] is cute
[name]Harper[/name] [name]Lila[/name] - Cute, although [name]Harper[/name] is a little too popular for my taste these days
[name]Remy[/name] [name]Winter[/name] [name]Grace[/name] (yes, just [name]Remy[/name]) - Cute. I always only pictured [name]Remy[/name] on a boy before, but my friends named their little girl [name]Remi[/name] [name]James[/name]. I love it now, but wish they would have given her a more feminine middle name

Thank you [name]Ashley[/name]!
I love your children’s names as well. [name]Jude[/name], [name]Zara[/name], [name]Cruz[/name] & [name]Ever[/name]. [name]How[/name] pretty!

“Mean” how?

The girls’ names all veer slightly masculine, which is interesting, but I don’t think that I really dislike any of these names. I actually like [name]Jules[/name] on a girl. I made a post about it ages ago here and I pretty much got shut down, but I do have a definite fondness for it.
