English speaker (me): fay
Other European cultures (eg. Spanish, [name_m]German[/name_m]): fah
Yup, I’d say [name_f]Fay[/name_f]-bee-an. But I wouldn’t be surprised to be corrected to Fah-bee-an.
I went to school with one he pronounced it [name_f]Fay[/name_f]-bee-ann.
[name_f]Fay[/name_f]-bee-an. Name of my co-worker, who is Hispanic and that’s how he pronounces it
I pronounce it [name_f]Fay[/name_f]-bee-an. I also knew one who pronounced it the same way.
It’s one of my aunt’s friends’ surname and they pronounce it [name_f]Fay[/name_f]-bee-in
I say [name_f]Fay[/name_f]-bee-an. I really like it, but only with that pronunciation.
Yup! This. Exactly…
When I speak English I say [name_f]FAY[/name_f]-bee-ən when I’m speaking [name_m]German[/name_m] it’s FAH-bee-ahn.
I say fah-bee-an. I have grown up with Greek, Spanish, Italian, Filipino and Japanese relatives though, so I don’t know whether or not that makes a difference. That’s how they all said it.
