Thoughts on [name_m]Fabian[/name_m]? I’ve fallen head over heels for it these past few days. I feel like it fits in right with other NB’s vintage darlings, and I ADORE the -ian ending. It’s well-known but not too common, and I think the main reason it’s growing on me is [name_m]Fabian[/name_m] Rutter from House of [name_m]Anubis[/name_m] (a Nickelodeon show I grew up on) which I’ve been rewatching. It has that nerdy vibe, but I also think it totally workson all personalities and ages!
[name_m]Can[/name_m] you also suggest some middles? So far I’ve come up with [name_m]Fabian[/name_m] [name_m]Achilles[/name_m], thoughts on that? [name_f]Do[/name_f] the two names clash with one another, style-wise? I really love [name_m]Fabian[/name_m]! I think it’s handsome and criminally underused.
We’ve actually considered it ourselves for a boys’ middle, but unfortunately we both have a not-so-great personal association. The name itself is one of those perfect “sweet spot” classics – everyone knows it, but few are using it, and it has a lovely soft-meets-strong sound. I love nicknames Fab, Fabe… even [name_u]Fable[/name_u] or [name_f]Fay[/name_f]. They give it a storybook charm.
I like [name_m]Fabian[/name_m] [name_m]Achilles[/name_m] but I think I’d prefer [name_m]Fabian[/name_m] [name_m]Achille[/name_m] (ash-EEL, it’s the [name_u]French[/name_u] form and I think simultaneously super dashing and a tiny bit more grounded).
