[name]Hi[/name] everyone! I’m new to this forum and expecting my first (gender unknown) in [name]July[/name].
What do you all think of the name [name]Fabian[/name] for a boy?
We’re looking for something different without being far off the beaten track. So you can get an idea for our style, other names we like:
[name]Owen[/name]
[name]Adrian[/name]
[name]Logan[/name] (though we most likely would not use because it is soooooo popular)
So I guess looking at the list, it’s safe to say that we like names that end in -an/-en and we like names with an Irish/Celtic feel (though DH hates things like [name]Tristan[/name] and [name]Mason[/name]).
What do you all think of these names, especially [name]Fabian[/name]? And do you have other suggestions for similar names?
To be honest, when I hear [name]Fabian[/name] I immediately think of [name]Fabio[/name] “I can’t believe it’s not butter.” So it’s not one of my favorites. I really do like [name]Owen[/name] and [name]Logan[/name], but they are really popular.

I’ve always really liked [name]Fabian[/name]!
[name]Adrian[/name] is very nice too, and I don’t mind [name]Owen[/name], but I really, really, strongly dislike [name]Logan[/name].
[name]Adrian[/name] and [name]Fabian[/name] are handsome, charming and sophisticated; [name]Logan[/name], in my opinion is none of these things. For similar names to [name]Logan[/name], I might suggest:
[name]Gage[/name], [name]Kane[/name], [name]Trace[/name], [name]Mason[/name], [name]Shane[/name] & [name]Brayden[/name].
Well, I like [name]Fabian[/name], he’s got style & verve. I also like that he doesn’t nickname easily.
I knew one a while ago; gorgeous, funny, creative and just all-around nice guy. But it’s still a lovely name.
[name]Owen[/name] is lovely and I love [name]Adrian[/name] almost as much as [name]Fabian[/name].

I really like [name]Fabian[/name]. I know a guy with that name and he is cool, funny, and good looking so I have a positive association. I also like [name]Adrian[/name] but wouldn’t use them together in a sibset. My 2 favorite Irish names are [name]Ronan[/name] and [name]Lorcan[/name].
[name]Fabian[/name] has a long history - it’s a saint and pope name, a Shakespearean name and the name of a 60’s singing hearthrob. I quite like [name]Fabian[/name] as well as [name]Adrian[/name]. Other options are [name]Damian[/name], [name]Julian[/name], [name]Ethan[/name], [name]Simon[/name], [name]Nathan[/name] and [name]Sebastian[/name]. Some of my fave Irish/Celtic names that have an “en/in/an” sound are [name]Lorcan[/name], [name]Tobin[/name], [name]Lachlan[/name], [name]Donovan[/name], [name]Griffin[/name], [name]Graeme[/name], [name]Eamonn[/name], [name]Callum[/name], [name]Ciaran[/name], [name]Quinlan[/name], [name]Ronan[/name], [name]Finnegan[/name], [name]Colin[/name], , [name]Finnian[/name], [name]Sullivan[/name], [name]Torin[/name], [name]Colman[/name], [name]Declan[/name] and [name]Rowan[/name]. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you, in hopes someday there might be another [name]Simon[/name]! It really is an awesome name, smart, neat, handsome and a little bit jazzy. My [name]Simon[/name]'s a sweetie. (don’t tell him I said that!)
[name]Roman[/name]'s another favorite. It’s debonair, suave, handsome & has a rather continental feeling. He’s a beautiful bronze for me. I like the no nickname enforcability of him too. I can see this name doing anything!

I like [name]Fabian[/name] (also like [name]Evan[/name] and [name]Ruben[/name]). I have a friend called [name]Fabian[/name] and his nickname is Fab - almost everyone calls him Fab whether he likes it or not. [name]Just[/name] a thought in case you don’t like that nn!
