Family Names

So, I’m not pregnant yet, but I’m ready to start trying. I’ve been thinking a lot about what I might name my future child, and I’m really curious what some of you guys would do with my particular situation.

I don’t already have children but I’m really close with my sisters so my niece and nephews would be like siblings to my baby and I’d want my little one to have a name that fit… Kind of like a sib set. We currently have:

[name_m]Thomas[/name_m] [name_u]Aiden[/name_u]
[name_f]Kaitlynn[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]
[name_u]Curtis[/name_u] [name_m]Greyson[/name_m]

I’m really into family names and/or honoring family names, some of the names that I really like from my family are:
Girls: [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_f]Rowena[/name_f] (mom – [name_u]Love[/name_u] her name), [name_f]Summer[/name_f], [name_f]Mavis[/name_f], [name_f]Rachael[/name_f], Liana . Also [name_f]Elaine[/name_f] is my middle and it’s kind of a big deal in my family (almost every woman on my dad’s side for 8 generations has been named [name_f]Elaine[/name_f].)

Boys: [name_u]Curtis[/name_u] [name_m]Raymond[/name_m], [name_m]Kirk[/name_m] (Dad), [name_m]Kenneth[/name_m], Ames, [name_m]Joshua[/name_m], [name_m]Eric[/name_m]

Lastly, here are a couple of names I just really like because I like them:
Girls: [name_f]Ariadne[/name_f], [name_f]Freya[/name_f], [name_f]Elin[/name_f], Ygritte, [name_f]Emma[/name_f]/[name_f]Emily[/name_f]/[name_f]Emiliana[/name_f] (or some variation thereof), Rhane
Boys: [name_m]Gavin[/name_m], [name_m]Conor[/name_m], [name_m]Liam[/name_m], [name_u]Fionn[/name_u]/[name_u]Finn[/name_u], [name_u]Niall[/name_u], [name_m]Cillian[/name_m]

Okay. What do you guys think would work with my family? What are your suggestions? Girl names/Boy names… It doesn’t matter, I’m just looking for some inspiration here.

  1. I would go with 2 syllable
  2. If it’s a boy and ends in s that’s a bonus
  3. I would use your middle for a girl middle
  4. The two that start with the same sound and have simila r middles in assuming are siblings, I wouldn’t begin your children’s names with those sounds and let them have their g middle names , or they honestly all look like sibs
  5. Only choose first names beginning with different letters, so no T, C or K sib s
  6. Family names are great

[name_m]Miles[/name_m]
[name_m]Atlas[/name_m]
[name_m]Davis[/name_m]
[name_m]Fergus[/name_m]
[name_m]Gaius[/name_m]
[name_m]Harris[/name_m]
[name_m]Lucas[/name_m]
[name_m]Niles[/name_m]

Important
But there’s a pattern - each child has 2 syllable first, different inituals , boys names end in different s endings and girls middle has s sound ending and her first name has a different n sound ending and so do the boys middles. It’s very carefully planned, even down to k&c same sound different letter first initials and matched middles for the two… If these children are all siblings I would not join the pattern as I feel like unless they say otherwise I would think it’s sort of their thing and mAybe you can create your own similar pattern!!!

[name_m]Cross[/name_m] out all names beginning in t k c
And ending in s sounds
[name_m]Say[/name_m] you write [name_f]Elaine[/name_f] for your girl middle nd choose a first.
Now say choose another -n sound middle for another girl … What sounds should their names e d in… Not s or n
[name_f]Do[/name_f] you want them to match
Choose your end sounds for boys firsts and middles. I
Make a similar sib set that fits right in but allows them their separate pattern… If all of your sisters well-designed kids all share this pattern then by all means though it’s a group thing and then my initial thoughts.

[name_f]Rowena[/name_f] [name_f]Elaine[/name_f]
[name_f]Diana[/name_f] [name_f]Daphne[/name_f]
[name_m]Liam[/name_m] [name_m]Eric[/name_m]
