I just learned (thanks, internet!) that a friend of a friend’s baby, who happens to be adorable, is also extremely well named. Wait for it: Ch@rlotte @dventure. I cannot get over how much I love this funky, perfect, completely unexpected middle name! [name_m]Just[/name_m] had to share with the berries. Now to come up with a list of quirky, great middles for my own kids…
What about you ladies? Any names you’re fangirling over right now? Any suggestions for AMAZING out-there middles?
I love [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], I will be using for future daughter [someday [name_m]Lord[/name_m] willing]. I also loved Adventure and it’s been on my list forever on girl.
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] Adventure is cute.
I like spunky middle names. My [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]'s middle name is a “normal” one though. However, I did have [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_u]Winter[/name_u], and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] Arachne on my list as well I still love those too.
Yes… I’m with you on this. I don’t know if I would personally do it myself (although I love the idea of it… I’m pretty set on using middles that honor family or friends)…I am SO happy to hear this name in real life. Ch@rlotte @dventure. It’s quite perfect, actually!
I adore the middle name [name_m]Wilder[/name_m] for a boy…I think it makes most names sound more masculine and handsome. Also [name_m]Wolf[/name_m] and [name_m]Stone[/name_m].
Girls… I’m not quite as adventurous with girl names! I want to be! (lol). The most adventurous I have considered for my own daughter (due [name_u]June[/name_u]) is the middle name [name_m]Jack[/name_m], to honor my FIL.
Some that come to mind for both genders: Epic (g), [name_u]Legend[/name_u] (b), [name_m]Lion[/name_m],(b)
Ok…I’m not very good at this. But I am looking forward to reading other responses!
Right now I’m seriously crushing on [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]! It’s never been on my radar but I read it the other day and decided I loved it. My other favorite girls name is [name_f]Hazel[/name_f], I’ve been playing with [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] for a future baby girl.
Really, all of the names on my list are a bit ‘risky’ because my entire family is just SO traditional (boring) with their baby names. Two new baby cousins added to the mix are [name_m]Luke[/name_m] and [name_m]Austin[/name_m] (clearly they didn’t know about nameberry)
I love [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] Adventure! It’s so fun! Other adventurous name combos I adore are [name_f]Thisbe[/name_f] [name_f]Flora[/name_f], [name_m]Stellan[/name_m] [name_m]Leander[/name_m], and [name_m]Peregrine[/name_m] [name_u]August[/name_u]. I also like [name_m]Wilder[/name_m] and [name_m]Wolf[/name_m]. I know a [name_m]Stone[/name_m]! Big sister is [name_u]Piper[/name_u] and they are adorable red-heads!! I also knew an [name_f]Ella[/name_f] [name_m]George[/name_m], [name_m]George[/name_m] for a family member, so I don’t think [name_m]Jack[/name_m] would be THAT strange on a girl.
Yes, this name is wonderful! Is this a new classification of virtue names?
I’ve always thought NASA used some intriguing names: [name_f]Spirit[/name_f], Curiosity, Opportunity, [name_u]Explorer[/name_u], [name_u]Discovery[/name_u], Voyager.
My favorite right now though is probably Seafarer.
I wanted [name_m]Graham[/name_m]'s mn to be [name_m]Diesel[/name_m]. The only reason it isn’t is because the initials. We are crushing on [name_m]Orlando[/name_m] right now
Our son [name_m]Jack[/name_m]'s middle name is [name_m]Heinrich[/name_m], which is the [name_m]German[/name_m] form of [name_m]Henry[/name_m] and my dad’s middle name, which everyone thinks is weird. I like more unusual middle names especially on boys- [name_m]Wolfe[/name_m], [name_u]Grey[/name_u], Cruze- but not on girls for some reason. When it’s on a boy, imo, it seems masculine and fresh but on girls it seems a little ridiculous. I prefer girls to have feminine and soft sounding combos for the most part.
My current girl name crushes are- [name_f]Hazel[/name_f], [name_u]Sloane[/name_u], [name_u]Spencer[/name_u], [name_u]Simone[/name_u], [name_f]Violet[/name_f], [name_f]Iris[/name_f], [name_f]Ivy[/name_f], [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f], [name_f]Evie[/name_f], [name_u]Ever[/name_u].
My current boy name crushes are- [name_m]Eli[/name_m], [name_u]Emmett[/name_u], [name_m]Archer[/name_m], , [name_m]Leo[/name_m], [name_u]Parker[/name_u], [name_u]August[/name_u], [name_u]River[/name_u], [name_m]Pheonix[/name_m], and [name_m]Beckett[/name_m].
It does! And I’ve tried to… but I don’t, unfortunately. It’s partly due to personal associations, and partly due to pronunciation issues. Also, I’m not a fan of it on paper. DH isn’t a fan either.
I go a bit against the grain of most NB and don’t mind gender bending names (in either direction)…although it’s still a bit bold for me. The chances of using it are slim. I know you have a little [name_m]Jack[/name_m] - I assure you it will stay in the middle should we use it on our daughter! (and only if we were to use [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] as a first name - two names are ahead at this point)
You know I don’t mind boy names on girls. I knew two girls in highschool that had the names [name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f] and they went by [name_m]Jax[/name_m] actually.
I know a real [name_m]Stone[/name_m]! [name_m]Stone[/name_m] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] [name_u]Owen[/name_u]. [name_u]Owen[/name_u] was mom’s maiden name and [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] is a family name. He is brother to [name_f]Adalyn[/name_f] [name_f]Gracie[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f], [name_u]Cassidy[/name_u] [name_f]Flora[/name_f] [name_m]Chevy[/name_m], and [name_u]Presley[/name_u] [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f].
Adventure is adorable!
Some names I would use if I built the courage are-
[name_f]Maggie[/name_f] [name_f]Holiday[/name_f]
[name_f]Aria[/name_f] [name_u]Winter[/name_u]
[name_f]Tigerlily[/name_f] [name_u]Bryn[/name_u]
[name_m]Maddox[/name_m] [name_f]Elle[/name_f]
[name_f]Liberty[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_u]Briley[/name_u] Estuarine
