I’ve taken a liking to the name [name_f]Fanny[/name_f], but would prefer to see it used as a sweet nickname. I am having trouble finding a formal name beyond [name_f]Myfanwy[/name_f], [name_f]Dymphna[/name_f], Euphrosyne. Any ideas?
I am assuming fanny doesn’t mean vagina where you are from then? 
[name_f]Francesca[/name_f] and [name_f]Frances[/name_f] come to mind.
My thoughts!!! [name_f]Fanny[/name_f] could NEVER be used here in the UK for that reason, but perhaps it doesn’t have that association elsewhere.

No am not from the U.K. but I have met people from the U.K. whose names were [name_f]Fanny[/name_f], they never mentioned anything about a vagina, just that its rare and an extra special name to them. where I live, [name_f]Fanny[/name_f] is out dated, like [name_f]Mabel[/name_f], [name_f]Ethel[/name_f] and the likes, and rare. I like the Victorian feel of [name_f]Fanny[/name_f], or at least that is the image the comes to mind when I hear the name. [name_f]Fanny[/name_f] and [name_f]Minnie[/name_f] and [name_f]Bessie[/name_f], it brings back a different era. But since I’m not located in the U. K. I shouldn’t have to worry. But wasn’t fanny used there in the U.K until about WWI? I think I read somewhere that is was really popular then died out, unlike where I live, where it didn’t have much of a moment. Anyway, it is sad to here that such lovely name has taken on such an awkward meaning. It feel like the word cool, and how it has evolved. I still like [name_f]Fanny[/name_f] though.
[name_f]Fanny[/name_f] means bottom/butt where I live in the US. I thought your post title [name_f]Fanny[/name_f] and beyond was tongue in cheek referencing the behind.
Yes, I’m from southern u.s. and it’s a silly term for bottom/rear end. Like “get your fanny over here right now” or “you bet your fanny, I did!”.
Yeh, it’s taken on the vagina/vulva meaning in NZ too… but could change with the younger generation? I don’t know. It did used to be a popular name back in the day.
