Thoughts on this name?
It’s spanish and pronounced Far-O-lee-tO (far like car and tO like go). It sounds best with a spanish R, but is pronounceable in english.
It means little lantern and is another term for Luminaria. Does this give it a religious meaning in your opinion? I’m not religious myself

in terms of the meaning, it’s definitely not religious (why would it be?) but I do think it’d be kinda weird in a Spanish speaking country. -ito makes a noun small (like how you mentioned) so I feel like it’d a little weird on an adult

I agree, I don’t think it could work in a spanish speaking country. I live in a place with a lot of spanish speakers but still mostly english so I think that would help with pronunciation some.
I was thinking about the religious connection because Luminarias / Farolitos are used around christmas time and are connected to christianity in various ways
ah okay, I didn’t know that. I guess you’ll have to get input from religious berries for that.

I’m not aware of the religious meaning (it’s not a part of my faith, at least). To me the pronunciation is quite intuitive. I think it could work if you have the heritage to back it up, though I can’t see it working for someone who is very Anglo IYSWIM.
