I’ve always been fascinated by names, my sister included. We could spend hours talking about what names we would use for our kids and I thought it would be interesting for people to post what their childhood favorites were and if they actually used any. For me I remember my first pair being [name_f]Miley[/name_f] (no idea as a child of the nineties where I got this), [name_m]Jason[/name_m], and [name_f]Ella[/name_f]. [name_f]My[/name_f] sister was [name_f]Lauren[/name_f] and [name_f]Mary[/name_f]. [name_f]My[/name_f] choices changed almost yearly progressing to [name_f]Michaela[/name_f], [name_f]Angela[/name_f], [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_u]Ashley[/name_u] (I had discovered Full House), [name_f]Sharon[/name_f], [name_u]Marty[/name_u] (my Back to the [name_u]Future[/name_u] phase), and [name_f]Cara[/name_f]. Then [name_f]Gabriella[/name_f], [name_m]Landon[/name_m], and [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]. Then my sister finally changed to [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] and [name_f]Emma[/name_f], and I thought [name_f]Violet[/name_f], [name_f]Rose[/name_f], and [name_f]Willow[/name_f] was all that. The only one that ammounted to anything was [name_f]Gabriella[/name_f], which I used as a middle name. I’m so excited to see everyones answers.
I remember [name_m]Xavier[/name_m] and [name_m]Zachary[/name_m] and [name_f]Alyssa[/name_f] and [name_f]Felicia[/name_f]. [name_f]My[/name_f] tastes have changed.
I loved [name_m]Timothy[/name_m] “[name_m]Timmy[/name_m]” as a child. I think there was a [name_m]Timothy[/name_m] in preschool or kindergarten I must have thought was a nice child. [name_m]Timothy[/name_m] is fine but I didn’t use it and will not use it.
[name_f]Holly[/name_f] was my favourite name for ages. Its not one I’d choose now.
At one point I had a whole list of favourites (I wish I could find it or remember them all now) - there were some like [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] and [name_f]Alice[/name_f] which I really dislike now. Others like Lititia (I thought that’s how you spelt [name_f]Letitia[/name_f]) I still quite like but wouldn’t use. And then there’s [name_f]Araminta[/name_f], which I still love and would consider using (but would probably get vetoed by hubby!)
Boys I remember liking [name_u]Hayden[/name_u]. Also wouldn’t choose it now. As a teenager I came up with the idea of [name_m]Zachary[/name_m] [name_m]Joshua[/name_m] [name_u]Toby[/name_u]. I’ve ended up with a [name_u]Toby[/name_u] and could well end up with a [name_m]Zachary[/name_m] in the future if hubby and I can agree on [name_m]Zack[/name_m] vs [name_m]Zachary[/name_m] etc
When I was younger I liked a lot of trendy names for girls like [name_u]Riley[/name_u] and [name_u]Madison[/name_u], which I would never use now. I think the first girls name I liked that is more my style now was [name_f]Adriana[/name_f]. I used it for my first character ever, I pronounced it more like [name_f]Audriana[/name_f], until I figured out the correct pronunciation. I still like [name_f]Adriana[/name_f], but for me it is too tied to the character for use. At that time, I also really liked [name_f]Thalia[/name_f] and [name_f]Cassandra[/name_f] and [name_f]Selene[/name_f], all of which I still have on my list. It’s weird how I loved names like [name_u]Riley[/name_u] and [name_u]Madison[/name_u], but at the same time loved names like [name_f]Selene[/name_f] and [name_f]Thalia[/name_f], totally different ends of the spectrum.
I wasn’t really fond of girls names yet, but I liked a lot of boys names. I really loved [name_u]Owen[/name_u] and [name_m]Jason[/name_m]. And [name_m]Andrew[/name_m] and [name_m]Aaron[/name_m], and hated [name_m]Phillip[/name_m]. I really loved [name_m]Joshua[/name_m] and [name_m]Samuel[/name_m], [name_m]Luke[/name_m] and [name_m]Walter[/name_m] and [name_u]Jordan[/name_u]. I still really love all of those names (and hate [name_m]Phillip[/name_m]) so I guess my boys style hasn’t changed. I liked [name_m]Zachary[/name_m] too, but I don’t really like that one very much anymore, and I can’t use [name_u]Owen[/name_u].

I remember liking Jonasy and [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] for boys. I liked Rosabell, [name_f]Jennifer[/name_f], and [name_f]Alexandria[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] for girls.
