I’ve noticed that a lot of my favorite names lately have some kind of Greek origin to them. What are your favorite Greek names? What do you think of mine?
[name_f]Xanthe[/name_f] - love the sound, the uniqueness, and the meaning “golden/yellow” I wanted to use it for a daughter because we knew she would most likely have blond hair.
[name_f]Apollonia[/name_f]
[name_f]Aphrodite[/name_f] - I adore this name.
[name_f]Clio[/name_f]
[name_f]Delta[/name_f]
[name_f]Dora[/name_f]
[name_u]Echo[/name_u] - DH and I said that if we got a kitten we would call her this.
[name_f]Gaia[/name_f]
[name_f]Olympia[/name_f] - stunning.
[name_m]Andreas[/name_m]
[name_m]Apollo[/name_m]
[name_m]Basil[/name_m]
[name_u]Elias[/name_u]
[name_m]Gregor[/name_m] - I would love to see this name being used.
[name_m]Matthias[/name_m]
[name_u]Orion[/name_u]
For the last several months I’ve had a severe crush on Psamathe - pronounced I think kind of like [name_m]Timothy[/name_m] but with “sah” in place of “tih” at the beginning. Apparently Psamathe is the “goddess of sandy beaches”. I adore it. I’d consider it for the middle name spot (because realistically, not a lot of people in [name_f]Canada[/name_f] would know how to say or spell it so I’d feel bad putting it in the first name spot).
i love [name_f]Ariadne[/name_f], [name_u]Artemis[/name_u] and [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] ( i could me mixing in ancient roman names, my bad if i did).
