adon - it’s like naming a kid sir or the like, sounds very weird to me as a name
benoni - it’s almost identical to a hebrew word, and both this name and the word are negative meanings so… it’s a no from me
bara - i for sure don’t know every name out there, so this is coming from my one connection, which is… literally just the verb create? like literally the second word in the bible/tanach?
I hesitated over [name_u]Adon[/name_u]. I know what it means – but I did meet someone whose name was [name_u]Adon[/name_u] and I decided I liked it.
I have always loved [name_m]Benoni[/name_m] – son of my sorrow – the name [name_f]Rachel[/name_f] gave [name_u]Benjamin[/name_u] as she died. I would never name a child this, though.
[name_m]Eh[/name_m], [name_f]Bara[/name_f]. I do like word names, but I don’t think I would ever name a child this.
[name_f]My[/name_f] own kids are [name_f]Leah[/name_f] [name_f]Gavriella[/name_f] and [name_m]Kalev[/name_m] [name_m]Gidon[/name_m] and have had more than one Israeli criticize his name because of what [name_m]Kalev[/name_m] means in contemporary Hebrew. (His [name_f]English[/name_f] name is [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] so it never really comes up except in shul.)
