[name_f]Augusta[/name_f] – I’ve always really liked this name, I like that it’s uncommon yet familiar, and how it feels grand and historic yet still grounded and down-to-earth.
[name_m]Lionel[/name_m] – Such a cool and underrated choice. I like both pronunciations, and the fact it has ‘lion’ in it. It feels cool and laid-back yet also professional and buttoned-up, and could fit any personality. [name_m]Leo[/name_m] is also a great nickname.
for girls, I have to go with saskia. it’s a longtime fave for me—so perfectly balanced with femininity, spunk, and badassery, and with a particularly badass meaning
for boys, ive always liked lysander! it has a lovely soft strength that I love for boy names
[name_f]Saskia[/name_f] - so sweet, feminine and underused! [name_f]Sissy[/name_f] would be such a cute nickname (Lavinia is adorable and a very close second) [name_m]Lionel[/name_m] - I’m just obsessed with the fact that this name contains the word [name_m]Lion[/name_m]!
I love your list! I choose [name_f]Augusta[/name_f] (Lavinia came close) because it’s just so elegant, royal and sweet. And [name_m]Lysander[/name_m] from the boys list (I also love [name_m]Daphnis[/name_m] and Sylvan). Such a fairy prince name. All three are so ethereal and whimsical
[name_f]Clelia[/name_f]
I had never heard of [name_f]Clelia[/name_f] until she joined your list, but I was immediately taken with her! Such a soft, lilting sound. Very melodic and whimsical.
[name_m]Sylvan[/name_m]
I had [name_m]Sylvan[/name_m] on my list for awhile a couple years back. I still find him so handsome and dashing. He is the night in shining armor who saves the day at the end of a very good fairytale.
[name_f]Lavinia[/name_f] ~ I’ve been finding her quite mesmerising lately – the V, the transportation to past centuries, the cadence of enunciating all those syllables.
[name_m]Laertes[/name_m] ~ he’s so satisfying to say! Substantial but delicate
[name_f]Saskia[/name_f] → a long time favourite, sassy, bright and cool, with plenty of kick and sparkle. Reminds me of stars and mountains but glitter too. Nicknames Sassie, Sass, [name_f]Kia[/name_f], [name_f]Kiki[/name_f] and [name_f]Sasha[/name_f] are cool too!
[name_m]Lysander[/name_m] → mystical, poetic, and woodsy and I love the literary vibes and gentle elegance of it. Also nicknames [name_m]Sandy[/name_m] and [name_f]Sasha[/name_f] are great!
this was super tricky and it was almost [name_f]Clelia[/name_f] and [name_m]Laertes[/name_m]!
[name_f]Saskia[/name_f] - I have loved [name_f]Saskia[/name_f] for many years. The unusual sound - that “sk” in the middle! - and Nordic feel are very endearing.
[name_m]Sylvan[/name_m] - I would love to see this on a little boy. It’s cute and lively and has a lovely meaning.
[name_f]Heracleia[/name_f] is so gorgeous! I’m drawn to so many ancient Greek names, and this is just such a wonderful combination of sounds. It has a certain reality to it, but it feels light and fun too.
And my darling, sweet, beautiful [name_m]Lysander[/name_m]. This one was easy. What can I say? I just adore everything about him. I love the sound, the meaning, the strong, but soft, gentle, caring feel it has. It’s unusual, but simple and familiar.
This is so hard!! For girls, I would have to pick [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f], as I recently fell in love with her again. I love how she feels playful, sweet, and floral while still being vintage- such a springtime name and reminds me of garden flowers, raspberries, flowing dresses, and that feel-good spring vibe you get when the sun comes out for the first time. However, [name_f]Augusta[/name_f] comes in a very, very close second. I’ve loved her for a very long time because of her bold sound and warm feel!
For boys…I would choose [name_m]Lysander[/name_m] because I like his poetic feel and soft green colours like fresh leaves and herbal tea. I also like the [name_m]Shakespeare[/name_m] connection to A Mid-Summer Night’s [name_f]Dream[/name_f]! [name_m]Lionel[/name_m] (an honour for me), and [name_m]Sylvan[/name_m] come in second.
