I love A names. They’re beautiful. [name_f]Arianwen[/name_f], Aderyn, [name_f]Aveline[/name_f], [name_f]Amaryllis[/name_f]… There are so many I love. I cannot stand N names. [name_m]Even[/name_m] names that most berries seem to love, like [name_f]Nora[/name_f] and [name_f]Naomi[/name_f], sound ugly to me. I am yet to find a single N name I like. Sorry for anyone with N names, I’m not trying to be rude they just don’t appeal to me.
So what are your most loved and least favourite letters?
I love round letters. B, C, O, R, etc. And dislike letters with straight lines, like X and K.
It makes my list a bit more challenging because sometimes I love a name but hate the letter, as is the case for [name_f]Xanthe[/name_f]. If I write it out by hand, I can make the X cursive and everything is fine, but seeing it printed or on the screen with that stick straight X just looks hideous to me!
I agree with @ameliawilliams.
I hate the letters D,K,X,T and V. They’re all so ugly and I have a really hard time coming up with names I like that start with those letters.
I really like A, E, C, and S. There’s just something about them. Maybe it’s because all of my favorite names start with those letters.
I think the letter S is what my most favorite names usually start with- [name_f]Stella[/name_f], [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f], [name_f]Senna[/name_f], [name_f]Sunniva[/name_f], [name_u]Sage[/name_u], [name_f]Signe[/name_f], etc., but I also have this lisp that makes my S’s come out extra sharp and hiss-y when I say them. I’d never noticed it until my SO pointed it out to me. So, S is my favorite and least favorite also.
I like the soft sounds of S, F, H, and the soft C sound. Examples: [name_f]Sofia[/name_f], [name_f]Sarah[/name_f], [name_f]Felicity[/name_f], [name_f]Francine[/name_f], [name_u]Felice[/name_u] [name_f]Hailey[/name_f], [name_u]Halle[/name_u], [name_f]Cecily[/name_f], [name_f]Ciera[/name_f]…
I like G, X, Z, K, and V.
It’s hard to get into B, N, S, and W.
I tend to like A names but we won’t be using those.
Sometimes there are just a few exceptions to the rules but by enlarge…
I like: H, E, L, M, O, V
Dislike: B, K, F, D, X, Y, S, Q, J
I love vowels (I is probably my least favourite for the most part), rounded letters, and letters with soft sounds (M, F and H, the TH combo). There are some exceptions to this rule, but for the most part, these are my go to letters.
e.g (vowels): [name_u]Artemis[/name_u], [name_f]Esther[/name_f], [name_f]Agnes[/name_f], [name_f]Opal[/name_f], [name_f]Ursula[/name_f], etc.
rounded letters: [name_f]Bunny[/name_f], [name_f]Dossie[/name_f], [name_m]Prosper[/name_m], [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f], [name_f]Bettina[/name_f], etc.
soft sounds: Ferelith, [name_u]Vesper[/name_u], [name_f]Novella[/name_f], [name_m]Moe[/name_m], [name_f]Flora[/name_f], [name_f]Hestia[/name_f], etc.
The same rules apply to boys names too.
I’ve done starting letters and sounds/syllables.
Favourite starting letters: A, P, M, L, S, C
Favourite sounds: Th, or/au, ph, ay, ar/ra
Least favourite/used starting letters: N, Q, U, R, D, K
Least favourite sounds: Sh (in the middle of names), een
I don’t particularly like B names, but that’s just it. I love round letters, and have very poopy handwriting, so all letters are particularly rounded for me - but I don’t like the b sound
I only like one N name, and that’s [name_f]Nell[/name_f]!
On my list, I have a lot of A, H and M names.
Not necessarily as starting letters, but within the name:
[name_u]Love[/name_u]: L, N, R, S
Dislike: B, G, W
ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ
Favorites: B,C,V,G, basically strong letters
Least favorites: A, H, J, K, R, basically soft letters lol
For reasons I’m not too sure of I find myself liking names starting with E, M, W, and V
I dislike F, I, K, O
[name_f]My[/name_f] favorites begin with F, J & M. I dislike those beginning with Z, X and Q.
Favorites:
C- [name_f]Clara[/name_f], [name_f]Cassia[/name_f], [name_f]Camille[/name_f], [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], [name_f]Colette[/name_f] etc…
A- [name_f]Anneliese[/name_f], [name_f]Amelia[/name_f], [name_f]Anna[/name_f], [name_f]Arianwen[/name_f], [name_f]Audrey[/name_f], [name_f]Alina[/name_f] etc…
E- [name_f]Emilia[/name_f], [name_f]Emma[/name_f], [name_f]Elena[/name_f], [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u], [name_u]Eden[/name_u] etc…
M- [name_f]Madeline[/name_f], [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f], [name_f]Melody[/name_f], [name_f]Mira[/name_f] etc…
Least favorites:
B, D, O, I, Q, W, X, Z
For girls I like ‘A’ names the best. For boys ‘J’ names. I love E. as a middle initial, I think it has nice symmetry. I don’t like many ‘K’ names it seems like a harsh letter to me.
Another person that loves [name_f]Arianwen[/name_f] yay!!!
I love A, C, E, F, J & L and like D (on boys), M, R, S, T and V (on girls).

I really struggle with B (especially on girls), G (unless it’s [name_f]Ginevra[/name_f]), K (unless it’s [name_f]Kiera[/name_f]), N (I dislike them all pretty much. [name_f]Nina[/name_f], [name_f]Nora[/name_f], [name_u]Niall[/name_u], [name_m]Niel[/name_m], [name_m]Nate[/name_m] ew. I tolerate [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m]) & U.
Oh my goodness, yesss! I am so glad I’m not the only one to hate [name_f]Naomi[/name_f]! I’m not a huge [name_f]Nora[/name_f] fan, either. “N” names are hit-and-miss for me. I feel like it has to do with my synesthesia (or what I assume is my synethesia–it’s never been properly diagnosed)–"N"s are generally bright reds and oranges, and they’re just too harsh and fiery-hot for me. I find pastel colors and pinks and purples and yellows and greens much more my thing, haha. I do like [name_f]Nadia[/name_f] and [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] (sometimes) and [name_u]Noah[/name_u] (for a boy), and sometimes [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] and [name_f]Natalie[/name_f], but very rarely will I have an “N” name on my list. I notice I do gravitate (in general) to a lot of “A”, “E”, “C”, and “L” names–and a lot of “B” names for boys, and I’ve started to like a lot of “O” names, too ([name_f]Arianne[/name_f], [name_u]Avery[/name_u] (b), [name_u]Bailey[/name_u] (b), [name_m]Brody[/name_m], [name_m]Boaz[/name_m]/[name_m]Beau[/name_m], [name_m]Caleb[/name_m], [name_m]Charles[/name_m], [name_m]Calvin[/name_m], [name_u]Everett[/name_u], [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f], [name_f]Eleni[/name_f], [name_f]Eva[/name_f], [name_f]Olivia[/name_f], [name_f]Odette[/name_f], [name_f]Odilia[/name_f], etc., etc.).
While I’ve grown to like quite a few “F” names–[name_f]Felicity[/name_f], [name_m]Finnian[/name_m], [name_f]Fiona[/name_f], [name_f]Fiora[/name_f]/[name_f]Fiorella[/name_f], [name_f]Fleur[/name_f]/[name_f]Flora[/name_f], [name_u]Finley[/name_u], [name_u]Flynn[/name_u], [name_m]Finnegan[/name_m], etc.!–I used to hate them more than brussel sprouts and refused to go near them. Much of the time, now, I have them on my list about as frequently as I have “N” names, but I do like quite a few of them.
I feel like X, Q, etc., shouldn’t count because there are so few of them.
And Zs!!! I love “Z” names. [name_m]Zane[/name_m], [name_f]Zinnia[/name_f], [name_f]Zoe[/name_f], [name_f]Zara[/name_f], [name_f]Zenobia[/name_f], Zsofia, [name_f]Zosia[/name_f], etc.–how could you not love their zippy, zany charm?
I love E and M names for girls it seems, and J and M’s for boys. C’s too. I dislike X’s, Z’s, G’s for girls, and I’s for boys.
