I like [name_u]Aria[/name_u] on her own, but I think she’s sooo fun as a nickname for the sweet and whimsical [name_f]Ariadne[/name_f]! I also like her as a short form of [name_f]Arrietty[/name_f] and [name_f]Araminta[/name_f].
I like [name_f]Ariadne[/name_f] a lot! It’s reminiscent of other names like [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] and [name_f]Hermione[/name_f] but less commonly seen.
I love the sound of [name_f]Ariane[/name_f] but for me it’s too close to aryan, making me think of WWII. [name_f]Ariana[/name_f] inevitably makes me think of [name_f]Ariana[/name_f] [name_f]Grande[/name_f]. [name_f]Arianwen[/name_f] feels delicate and ethereal but again I can’t help thinking of WWII a little
(Even though [name_f]Ariana[/name_f] has the letters too, I don’t react the same with [name_f]Ariana[/name_f]. Maybe because of how prolific the singer is, or the fact that the common name component of -ana kind of distracts me from it?)
I love the name [name_f]Ilaria[/name_f] too, and I think [name_u]Aria[/name_u] could be short for that! [name_u]Or[/name_u] even an unexpected nickname for Maria/Mariana.
Arianne/Ariane is my favorite - she was in my top 3 for years! The other names are nice but little compares to [name_f]Arianne[/name_f] for me. Also a big fan of [name_f]Ariela[/name_f], and I think you could claim [name_u]Aria[/name_u] for her, even though the [name_u]Ari[/name_u]- and the -a are split up by the “el”.
And I suppose I would say a nickname; I like just [name_u]Ari[/name_u] way more than [name_u]Aria[/name_u] myself, so I would be using [name_u]Ari[/name_u] regardless of if my options were just [name_u]Aria[/name_u] or [name_f]Arianne[/name_f]. But I do like that [name_f]Ariela[/name_f] or [name_f]Arianne[/name_f] are more unusual than just [name_u]Aria[/name_u].
