[name_m]Dante[/name_m] is more my partner’s pick than mine. I really love [name_u]River[/name_u] too. I love the sound and the meaning. People will definitely know how to pronounce and spell it. [name_f]My[/name_f] only issue with it is that it doesn’t really pair well with the family name [name_u]Axel[/name_u], which I would love to use as a middle name (it’s tradition in my family to name all boys [name_u]Axel[/name_u] as middle name). [name_u]River[/name_u] [name_u]Axel[/name_u] sounds a little like a location on a map or something. What do you think?

Dante really is a lovely name, I just like the others more!
Oh, I love [name_u]Axel[/name_u]! It’s one of my favorites. What a lovely name to have for a family tradition!
I see what you’re saying about [name_u]River[/name_u] [name_u]Axel[/name_u]. However, I also think both [name_u]River[/name_u] and [name_u]Axel[/name_u] feel established enough as names, that [name_u]River[/name_u] [name_u]Axel[/name_u] mostly comes across as a very cool combo! I think it’s a name that’s very on trend with other current names. Also, most of the time, he’d be known as just [name_u]River[/name_u], or [name_u]River[/name_u] Lastname. So I don’t necessarily think it should stop you from using the name if you really love it!! I think the meaning behind the name is more important than making sure the name is “perfect” sounding, if that makes sense!
I also think [name_m]Viggo[/name_m] [name_u]Axel[/name_u], [name_m]Elio[/name_m] [name_u]Axel[/name_u], [name_m]Cassian[/name_m] [name_u]Axel[/name_u], and [name_m]Dante[/name_m] [name_u]Axel[/name_u] sound really great!

So difficult to just choose one! I love [name_m]Elio[/name_m], [name_m]Eben[/name_m], [name_m]Viggo[/name_m], [name_m]Cassian[/name_m], and [name_m]Dante[/name_m]. A lovely list!

That is true. [name_u]Axel[/name_u] means ‘shoulder’ in Swedish, but still it’s a very popular name there. [name_u]River[/name_u] also means ‘clawing’ in Swedish, so I don’t know how I feel about naming a kid Clawing Shoulder. [name_m]Elio[/name_m] [name_u]River[/name_u] or [name_m]Elio[/name_m] [name_u]Axel[/name_u] have nice rings to them though. The last name would be [name_f]Sura[/name_f]. Maybe [name_m]Elio[/name_m] [name_u]Axel[/name_u] [name_f]Sura[/name_f]…
I like the name [name_m]Elio[/name_m] because of its sound, the link to the sun ([name_m]Helio[/name_m]) and the character in Call Me By Your Name.

Oops, I should’ve specified that I meant the meaning it has for you. So with [name_u]Axel[/name_u] being a family name, and [name_u]River[/name_u] being a name you really love (and presumably makes you happy)! Personally I think as long as the actual meaning isn’t completely terrible, it shouldnt be the reason you discard a name you really love. Especially because most people won’t think of or know of the meaning! For example, I was close friends with an [name_u]Axel[/name_u] before getting more into names, and I never knew what his name meant! [name_m]Just[/name_m] that it was a very lovely name. that’s just me though, I know other people feel differently about it, and hold meanings to more importance!
[name_m]Elio[/name_m] also sounds lovely with both [name_u]River[/name_u] and [name_u]Axel[/name_u]! [name_f]Do[/name_f] you like double middles? Because [name_m]Elio[/name_m] [name_u]Axel[/name_u] [name_u]River[/name_u] is very handsome too!
Are [name_m]Elio[/name_m] and [name_u]River[/name_u] your top two choices? I know some people bring both names with them, and choose whichever suits the baby more! Perhaps you could do that!
Either way, I think you have a beautiful list, and they all go very nicely with the last name too!!

With the middle name Axel, I’m going to vote for Eben.

The thing I like about Eben Axel is that it’s very close to my dad’s name Bengt Axel. And I’m a total daddy’s girl. :blush:
