Hi everyone!

A question for you today!

What are your favourite fictional sibsets? Ones that you love, ones you think work well - even if you wouldn’t use them?

You don’t have to necessarily like the characters and the sets can come from anything from TV to comics to books :slight_smile:

Mine are:

Miles and Flora (Turn of the Screw - Henry James)
Eliot and Miranda (White is for Witching - Helen Oyeyemi)
Ginevra and Augusta (Villette - Charlotte Bronte - I really want to know the names of the other six sibs)
Anthea and Imogen (Girl meets boy - Ali Smith)
Astrid and Magnus (The Accidental - Ali Smith)
Ethan and Caleb ‘Cal’ (BBC Casualty - not ones I’d use but I think they just mesh so well)
Dorothea and Celia (Middlemarch - George Eliot)
Fergus and Flora (Waverley - Walter Scott - yeah, Flora appears twice on this list)

Evey and Dill from Witch by Finbar Hawkins comes to mind. :black_cat:

Also, Ophelia and Laertes from Hamlet - their mother must have named them because I don’t believe Polonius would have such good taste. :smile:

[name_f]Desiree[/name_f], [name_f]Fifine[/name_f] and [name_f]Georgette[/name_f] are so perfect, all the ones from Tenant of Wildfell [name_m]Hall[/name_m] are fabulous too. The To the Lighthouse set are gorgeous too!

@Luminen [name_f]Evey[/name_f] and [name_u]Dill[/name_u] are lovely, and yes, [name_m]Laertes[/name_m] and [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] are so cool (yeah, will go with their mother choosing them!)

I have three, each for a *slightly* dissimilar reason:

[name_u]Nesta[/name_u], [name_f]Elain[/name_f], & [name_f]Feyre[/name_f] Archeron from A [name_m]Court[/name_m] of Thorns and Roses series by [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] J. [name_m]Maas[/name_m]. I just feel that this is a well balanced fantasy-esque set. They just go so well together and sound like an actual sibset whereas a lot of times literary sibsets don’t really imo.

[name_f]Juliana[/name_f] [name_u]Jules[/name_u], [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f] [name_f]Livvy[/name_f], [name_f]Eveleen[/name_f] [name_f]Evie[/name_f], [name_f]Isadora[/name_f], [name_f]Violet[/name_f], & [name_f]Clara[/name_f] Savoie from the Stay a Spell series by [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] [name_u]Cross[/name_u]. This is a more “paranormal” series set in [name_u]New[/name_u] Orleans. The characters are sisters and I just love how vintage eclectic their names are, how they each feel individual but also feel like the same parents named them.

[name_u]Ash[/name_u], Smite, [name_f]Hope[/name_f], & [name_m]Mark[/name_m] [name_m]Turner[/name_m] from the [name_m]Turner[/name_m] series by [name_u]Courtney[/name_u] [name_u]Milan[/name_u]. They’re all actually “named” bible verses (i.e. Smite after [name_u]Genesis[/name_u] 8:21, where Smite is just a “nickname” of the full verse which is his “technical” name). I just find the idea of having a whole bible verse as your name rather fascinating and even though each sibling has a “nickname” of sorts from the whole verse they still go pretty well together imo.

When I was younger I loved the Bobbsey Twins books (I read the more recent editions, not the originals, but the names are the same) – [name_u]Bert[/name_u], [name_f]Nan[/name_f], [name_f]Flossie[/name_f], and [name_u]Freddie[/name_u]. The first two are b/g twins and the younger two are b/g twins.
