I’ve got quite interested in this recently so I’m interested to hear which ones people like I don’t just mean goddesses, can be the muses or any other female figures at all! Thank you
Ancient Greek names in general are fine also, even if not explicitly mentioned in mythology.
[name_f]Persephone[/name_f], [name_u]Hero[/name_u], [name_f]Ianthe[/name_f], [name_f]Astraea[/name_f], [name_f]Atalanta[/name_f], [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] and [name_f]Calliope[/name_f] are some of my favourites
I’m really fascinated by Eileithyia - it looks so pretty and feminine and I love how it sounds, but I do think the spelling is a bit of a handful - Ilithyia is an alternative I think.
I also like [name_f]Calliope[/name_f], [name_f]Athena[/name_f], [name_f]Astraea[/name_f], [name_f]Eudora[/name_f], [name_f]Ariadne[/name_f], [name_f]Ianthe[/name_f], [name_f]Phaedra[/name_f], [name_f]Evadne[/name_f], [name_f]Theia[/name_f] and [name_f]Ismene[/name_f]
My #1 is [name_f]Gaia[/name_f], and as it hasn’t yet been mentioned, I just had to add it (in particular) here.
I love so many Greek [name_u]Legend[/name_u] & Mythology names but one I want to highlight, and suggest you read about is [name_f]Atalanta[/name_f] – her name means “equal balance (between man and woman)” and between the meaning and the legend itself, such a brilliant, strong, brave and progressive character for a little girl to be named for!
I also love [name_u]Hero[/name_u], [name_f]Gaia[/name_f], [name_f]Thisbe[/name_f], [name_f]Ianthe[/name_f], [name_f]Io[/name_f], [name_f]Ariadne[/name_f], [name_f]Xanthe[/name_f]…
[name_f]Thalia[/name_f]- My LO’s name and muse of comedy
[name_f]Effie[/name_f] can be the Anglicized version of Efterpe, another muse
[name_f]Athena[/name_f]- needs no explanation
[name_f]Nerissa[/name_f]- “from the sea”
[name_f]Nerida[/name_f]-nereids were a mythical sea being
[name_f]Althea[/name_f]- means with healing power (love this meaning!)
[name_f]Ione[/name_f]- ancient nature name (violet stone)
[name_f]Kasiani[/name_f]- ancient name meaning cinnamon
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f], [name_f]Iris[/name_f], [name_f]Theia[/name_f], [name_f]Selene[/name_f], [name_f]Maia[/name_f] and [name_f]Luna[/name_f] are my favorites. I guess I gravitate toward two syllable names lately
I have two daughters: [name_f]Olympia[/name_f] and [name_f]Pandora[/name_f].
Other Greek names I like are:
[name_f]Atalanta[/name_f]
[name_f]Athena[/name_f]
[name_f]Althea[/name_f]
[name_f]Calliope[/name_f]
[name_f]Cassiopeia[/name_f]
[name_f]Hermione[/name_f]
[name_f]Penelope[/name_f] (but it is too popular for me)
[name_f]Persephone[/name_f]
Echo, [name_f]Calliope[/name_f], [name_f]Ariadne[/name_f] & [name_f]Briseis[/name_f] I’d consider using. [name_f]Psyche[/name_f] is a guilty pleasure, it’s my favorite story, though for obvious reasons probably shouldn’t be used on a modern day baby.
