My mum’s name is [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], and while I love it - I feel as though I can’t use it because it’s my mum’s name. I like [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] and [name_f]Isabella[/name_f], which share [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]'s meaning, but I dislike how popular they seem (I know a lot of [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f]'s/[name_f]Isabella[/name_f]'s/[name_f]Isabel[/name_f]'s/[name_f]Isobel[/name_f]'s). I’d like to use a NN for [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], but I’m not sure which one. I’ll list my favourites, and if you could choose your top 3-5, that’d be great!
*If you have middle name ideas, feel free to suggest them!
[name_f]Betsy[/name_f]
[name_f]Bettina[/name_f]
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f]
[name_f]Ellie[/name_f]
[name_f]Elsa[/name_f]
[name_f]Elsie[/name_f]
[name_f]Libby[/name_f]
[name_f]Lily[/name_f] (My mum was named after [name_f]Queen[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] II, so her grandmother often called her [name_f]Lilibet[/name_f]).
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f] is hands-down my favorite [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] nn. Actually, I like [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] enough to use it as a stand alone name, which could also be a good way to honor an [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f].
A couple other nn I love from your list are [name_f]Elsa[/name_f] and [name_f]Libby[/name_f]. (Similarly, Liddy is another option that is adorable!)
For middle names, [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] (or [name_f]Eliza[/name_f]) [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] is on my short list of favorites
[name_f]Libby[/name_f] is my favorite, I’ve always loved it.
[name_f]Lily[/name_f] is nice, too.
[name_f]Elsa[/name_f]
Other nn for [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]
[name_f]Liv[/name_f]
[name_f]Liz[/name_f]
[name_f]Lizzie[/name_f]
[name_f]Elle[/name_f]
[name_f]Betty[/name_f]
[name_f]Liza[/name_f]
[name_u]Issa[/name_u]
[name_f]Beth[/name_f]
[name_f]Lizeth[/name_f]
[name_f]Bebe[/name_f]
I adore [name_f]Bettina[/name_f]! It’s quite unusual, yet familiar, easy to spell and pronounce, sophisticated and spunky at the same time… such a gem! I also like [name_f]Betsy[/name_f], [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] and [name_f]Elsie[/name_f], but personally I would prefer some longer forms. [name_f]Lily[/name_f] is lovely, too, although really overused.
From your list, [name_f]Betsy[/name_f] is probably my favorite.
[name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] is my top girls name and I plan to call her [name_u]Elia[/name_u]. I personally prefer [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] with an “s” rather than a “z”.
My favorites are [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] and [name_f]Libby[/name_f]. I’m not really a fan of [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], and I have yet to find a name I love that would give me [name_f]Elsie[/name_f].
Lizby/Lizbe or [name_f]Elle[/name_f] would be personal favorites of mine. My top 3 from the ones you listed would be [name_f]Libby[/name_f], [name_f]Lilibet[/name_f], and [name_f]Lily[/name_f].
I like [name_f]Essie[/name_f], but if people have a hard time seeing [name_f]Betsy[/name_f] or [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] as a proper first name, I’m not sure [name_f]Essie[/name_f] would go over well
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f] and [name_f]Libby[/name_f] are my favorites. I would use [name_f]Elsa[/name_f] and [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] if it were spelled [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f].
I love [name_f]Liza[/name_f] and [name_f]Eliza[/name_f], but think they are enough to stand on their own. When it comes to [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], I love the name, probably for a middle. But I find myself wanting to use the nickname as the name, if I like it that much and plan to use it on the child all the time. My favorite nickname for it is [name_f]Bizzy[/name_f], which I would love to use as a first name, probably like [name_f]Busy[/name_f], but never would. It’s too out there, even for me.
Haha, my mum’s a [name_f]Liz[/name_f] and my dad calls her [name_f]Lizzy[/name_f], but she hates [name_f]Lizzy[/name_f]/[name_f]Lizzie[/name_f] because of [name_f]Lizzie[/name_f] [name_m]Borden[/name_m]. I mentioned [name_f]Elspeth[/name_f] to her, and she actually said she wished she was [name_f]Elsbeth[/name_f]/[name_f]Elspeth[/name_f] sometimes, because there were so many [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]'s when she was born.
I like [name_f]Libby[/name_f], [name_f]Beth[/name_f], [name_f]Bess[/name_f], [name_f]Tibby[/name_f]
I don’t like any of the [name_f]Eliza[/name_f], [name_f]Elise[/name_f], [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] type ones.
And I find ones like [name_f]Elspeth[/name_f], [name_f]Betsan[/name_f], and [name_f]Bettina[/name_f] to be hard to pronounce/spell/understand–feels like calling a [name_u]Kimberly[/name_u] → Berlik or something, lol
[name_f]Betsy[/name_f]! I also love [name_f]Bess[/name_f], [name_f]Buffy[/name_f] and [name_f]Betty[/name_f] (cutesy B names are my thing I guess). [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] and [name_f]Leeza[/name_f] are so pretty as well.
