To tell you the truth, none of those “R” names really appeal to me. [name]How[/name] about something like [name]Rhys[/name]?
@ mischa - I’m glad someone else has some love for [name]Roland[/name], I always get “you’re crazy” looks when I mention liking it [name]IRL[/name]
@julia - I like [name]Rhys[/name] and its on my quite large R list, these were just some of the names on the list I was interested to hear opinions on
I voted for [name]Rhett[/name], and it’s definitely my favorite of the ones you proposed. I would be concerned that [name]Rhett[/name] may be someone popular though. I live in the South and can think of 3 Rhetts under the age of four right now. If you are somewhere other than the South, it might be a great unique name.
I like [name]Rhett[/name], [name]Rufus[/name], and [name]Rigby[/name]. All of them nearly got my vote, but I eventually voted for [name]Rhett[/name], as it reminds me of my beloved [name]Everett[/name]. On its own merits and usability and something I would actually use, though, I think [name]Rufus[/name] would win that. I really love [name]Rufus[/name]!
Good luck!
[name]River[/name] is a guilty pleasure for me. It is very evocative and yet masculine
Of these, it was down to [name]Roland[/name] and [name]Rhett[/name] for me, and while I love [name]Rhett[/name], it’s a little too tied to Gone With The Wind for me, while the Gunslinger connection to [name]Roland[/name] is less of an everyone-in-the-western-world thing.
Of ones not listed, I adore [name]Rhys[/name] (which is related to [name]Rhett[/name]), [name]Reuben[/name]/[name]Reuven[/name], [name]Rex[/name], [name]Raphael[/name]/[name]Rafael[/name] and Raziel. I have a little bit of a soft spot for [name]Rio[/name], too.
I don’t actually have a lot of R boys’ names on my list, other than [name]Rowan[/name]. I do intend to use the middle name [name]Robert[/name] if I ever have a son. From your list, I love [name]Rupert[/name]! Riby is really fun and interesting, and [name]River[/name] is nice too…very manly, outdoorsy image there.
I love [name]Roarke[/name], though it’s never very well received anywhere. I also like [name]River[/name] (my dog’s name!) and [name]Rhett[/name], but as a nn for [name]Everett[/name].
Favorites not on your poll: [name]Richard[/name], [name]Rafferty[/name], [name]Rory[/name], and [name]Reuben[/name].
