I am a [name_f]Katelyn[/name_f], so I am incredibly biased, but I love this spelling! I think it looks complete, and is a pretty intuitive spelling imo. A great name, whatever way you spell it
Ooh, and I also like that it is easy to get [name_f]Kate[/name_f] & [name_f]Katie[/name_f] from the [name_f]Katelyn[/name_f] spelling. Personally, I think [name_f]Kait[/name_f] and [name_f]Cait[/name_f] look a little strange.
Thank you so much for your opinion!
[name_f]Katelyn[/name_f] is a lovely name. Growing up, I had a friend named that and was always a little jealous of her, haha! I agree about the “[name_f]Kait[/name_f]” and “[name_f]Cait[/name_f]” looking a little weird; right now I can’t decide if I like the [name_f]Katelyn[/name_f] or the [name_f]Kaitlyn[/name_f] spelling more.
Thanks again!
I [name_f]ADORE[/name_f] the name [name_f]Kaitlyn[/name_f]!! I also like [name_f]Kaitlin[/name_f], [name_f]Kaitlynn[/name_f] and [name_f]Catelynn[/name_f], but [name_f]Kaitlyn[/name_f] is my favourite spelling
I like [name_f]Kaitlin[/name_f] the best. When you can choose between a C or a K I prefer the K (No I’m not a kardashian fan).
I’ve always preferred [name_f]Caitlyn[/name_f]…[name_f]Katelyn[/name_f] would probably be my second choice.
A friend of mine os [name_f]Kaitlyn[/name_f] - and when I first saw it, I found it odd, but now i find it actually the most appealing way to spell it. (and no, not out of bias - we aren’t overly close). I prefer K to C when it comes to names, and it seems to be the most unique spelling which I really like.
I much prefer [name_f]Caitlin[/name_f]. Sometimes the most stream-lined and understated feels the most stylish.
[name_f]Caitlin[/name_f] pronounced “[name_f]Kate[/name_f]-[name_u]Lyn[/name_u]” is what happens when people see an Irish name and mispronounce it.
[name_f]Caitlin[/name_f] should actually be pronounced “Coyt-LEEN” or cat-LEEN.
However the “kate-[name_u]Lyn[/name_u]” sound with the [name_f]Caitlin[/name_f] spelling has become so popular and so prevalent that even in [name_f]Ireland[/name_f] now there are girls called [name_f]Caitlin[/name_f] pronounced [name_f]Katelyn[/name_f] - not many though!
It does have a lovely sound but for this reason I’d go with [name_f]Katelyn[/name_f]
I like the look of [name_f]Caitlin[/name_f], but [name_f]Katelyn[/name_f] is the prettiest alternative spelling in my opinion.
I agree! I used to not like it because of a bad association, but it’s growing on me. I love how sparkly and beautiful it is.
haha, I’m not a kardashian fan either, and I prefer K to C as well. Thank you!
Thank you!
I had a similar experience; I thought the spelling was strange at first, but now I really like it. Thank you
Thank you for your thoughtful comment!
That’s interesting! I didn’t know that. You learn something new every day, I guess! Thanks
Thank you
I grew up with [name_f]Caitlin[/name_f], [name_f]Katlynn[/name_f], and [name_f]Katelyn[/name_f] - always preferred [name_f]Katelyn[/name_f].
I’m a [name_f]Kaitlin[/name_f], so I’m obviously also biased, lol. I prefer my spelling because I think it looks symmetrical. Without the y it feels more balanced to me? I like the way the a i t l i n looks? [name_m]How[/name_m] the ai match the in with the taller tl in the middle? Again, I’m biased, and that’s probably weird, lol. [name_f]Katelyn[/name_f] feels weird to me because of the space that the e makes between the t and the l, but if you’re going for the name [name_f]Kate[/name_f] and the name [name_u]Lynn[/name_u] put together then it makes the most sense. [name_f]Kaitlyn[/name_f] is fine too, but again, to me the y makes it feel back heavy. Regardless, it’s a great name!
I prefer [name_f]Caitlin[/name_f]. Its less overused and trendy looking, and the original spelling. It seems much more refreshing and I think it looks beautiful. Ks are a bit kardashian, and [name_f]Caitlyn[/name_f] is Jenner to me now. Of the more trendy ones [name_f]Katelyn[/name_f] and [name_f]Kaitlyn[/name_f] are equal to me
I went with my spelling although I should have probably gone with the traditional [name_f]Caitlin[/name_f].
I went with [name_f]Caitlin[/name_f], as (apparently in opposition to everyone else in the thread lol) I prefer C to K! Haha. I even think [name_f]Cait[/name_f] looks really pretty, and probably prefer it to [name_f]Kate[/name_f] by a small margin.
I absolutely [name_f]ADORE[/name_f] [name_f]Katelyn[/name_f] rn, I don’t quite know why. It’s just been an impulse love for the past month or so.
I as well grew up with many different spelling variations of the name. Thank you for your opinion!
I completely agree! The “in” at the end really helps balance it out. There is something I love about each of these spelling variations - it’s so hard to decide! I love the spelling [name_f]Kaitlyn[/name_f] right now, but it might change…
I agree; [name_f]Caitlyn[/name_f] reminds me a lot of Jenner. I know someone [name_m]IRL[/name_m] named [name_f]Caitlyn[/name_f], and she says she gets comments all the time about how that spelling is so tied to the Kardashian/Jenner family right now. Thanks for your comment!
Thank you for your opinion!
Seems you’re in the minority here, haha! Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment
I totally agree! I haven’t liked the name for very long, it’s totally an impulse love. It’s so sparkly and pretty though, I love it
I was thinking of this just last night!
I tend to see the C spellings as being the ‘proper’ spellings. I think I like [name_f]Caitlyn[/name_f] the most. However I like pretty much all of them!
