[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there.
I’ll list them from my favorite to least favorite:
Girls-
[name_f]Olive[/name_f] Joyce-I love love [name_f]Olive[/name_f]! It’s quirky & vintage & lovable & floral but not frilly. The nn [name_f]Livy[/name_f] is really cute as well. [name_u]Joyce[/name_u] isn’t a personal favorite of mine, but I’m guessing that it’s an honor name. [name_f]Olive[/name_f] [name_u]Joyce[/name_u] sounds pretty good. But it might sound a bit like [name_f]Olive[/name_f] Juice…Can I mix & match? [name_f]Olive[/name_f] Clementine?! [name_f]Olive[/name_f] [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] is good too.
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] Hugo-I love [name_f]Violet[/name_f]. Almost as much as [name_f]Olive[/name_f], but it doesn’t sound as pleasant to me when said out loud. It’s still a great name w/similar vibes though. [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] flows nicely, even though [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] is really masculine. Again, guessing it’s an honor name. I like [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] as another option.
[name_u]Hazel[/name_u] Winona-Hazel is nice. It’s smart & warm & vintage & a little artsy. A tad over done, but a good choice none the less. I’m not into [name_f]Winona[/name_f], but I do like this combo. It flows well in sound & style & is unexpected.
[name_u]Sloane[/name_u] Merle-I’m assuming that this is a girl name. It’s kind of unisex, but I prefer it for a girl. I think that it’s really sleek & stunning. [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] [name_u]Merle[/name_u] flows okay, even though it’s not my favorite pairing two unisex names together. Would prefer something more feminine like [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] or [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] [name_u]Ruby[/name_u].
[name_f]Nell[/name_f] Violet-I absolutely love the name [name_f]Nellie[/name_f], but not [name_f]Nell[/name_f]. Go figure. I guess it just seems bland. I’d prefer it as a nn either way. [name_f]Nell[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] sounds good though for what it’s worth.
[name_f]Mavis[/name_f] Jo/Celestine-I love Maeve; I think maybe I’m not ready to accept [name_f]Mavis[/name_f] for a comeback yet. It’s not unpleasant though. [name_f]Mavis[/name_f] [name_f]Celestine[/name_f] kind of fancies it up, which is fun.
[name_f]Jovie[/name_f] Isobel-I honestly think that this sounds super cute (the combo & just Jovie), but it also feels made up is why I don’t care for it. I wonder if it could be a nn for [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]. Oh! [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] nn [name_f]Jovie[/name_f] sort of makes sense.
[name_f]Bronte[/name_f] Clementine-I don’t know how to make the accent mark on my keyboard, which is reason enough as to why that is just kind of tricky. I don’t dislike the name [name_f]Bronte[/name_f] that much…& I love the [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] part. It just feels a little pretentious unless…unless you’re a big fan of the author. If you are, then this is neat!
[name_f]Celestine[/name_f] Briar/Violet/Holland-I think that [name_u]Briar[/name_u] may flow the best, & is a somewhat unexpected choice. Ceelstine is pretty in theory, but a bit much for me. I like just [name_f]Celeste[/name_f] instead.
[name_f]Diana[/name_f] Ruby-I like [name_f]Diana[/name_f] in theory but not actually saying it or seeing it. Really not sure why. I think it just feels dated. [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] is darling though.
[name_u]Salem[/name_u] Isobel-I don’t think that I like [name_u]Salem[/name_u]. It doesn’t have a pretty sound to me, & it’s kind of associated w/the witch craft trials fiasco.
[name_f]Hestia[/name_f] Joyce/Joan-Not a fan of the sound of [name_f]Hestia[/name_f]. [name_f]Hestia[/name_f] [name_u]Joan[/name_u] flows better though in my opinion.
Boys-
[name_u]Asa[/name_u] [name_u]Wilder[/name_u]-
August/Augustus James-I prefer just [name_u]August[/name_u]. [name_u]August[/name_u] is smart & friendly & old fashioned & outdoorsy. And it has the cute nns of [name_m]Augie[/name_m], [name_u]Gus[/name_u] or [name_u]Ace[/name_u]. I want to like [name_m]Augustus[/name_m], but it’s just too much.
[name_m]Edgar[/name_m] Hugh/Woolf-I adore [name_m]Edgar[/name_m]. You rarely hear it, but I just find it the most charming of the ‘Ed’ names. [name_m]Edgar[/name_m] [name_m]Hugh[/name_m] is dashing. I’m not big on [name_m]Woolf[/name_m] as much, & the ‘r’ into the ‘w’ is awkward.
[name_u]Kit[/name_u] Valentine-I think that I’d prefer [name_u]Kit[/name_u] as a nn, but either way this is just adorable.
[name_m]Victor[/name_m] Samuel/Orion-Orion is interesting, but I just love [name_m]Samuel[/name_m]. [name_m]Victor[/name_m] [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] flows great. I don’t like [name_m]Victor[/name_m] a ton, because I think that it sounds kind of harsh. But it’s a nice enough unexpected choice.
[name_m]Monty[/name_m] James-Monty is kind of cute, but I can’t get into it. I feel like it sounds be a nn too, but I’m not sure what for.
Wybie James-Wybie looks & sounds kind of adorable, but it seems sort of not like a name. Maybe as a nn for [name_m]Wilbur[/name_m]? [name_u]Or[/name_u] really [name_u]William[/name_u] might work.
[name_m]Hugo[/name_m] Oz-Hm. The combo feels sort of abrupt, & I don’t like [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] as much as other Berries seem too. It feels sort of snooty. I think that just [name_m]Hugh[/name_m] is sweeter. Either way, I like the combo of [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] [name_u]Valentine[/name_u].
[name_m]Klaus[/name_m] Orion/Truman-Either mn sounds fine. I think [name_u]Orion[/name_u] is more fun. [name_m]Klaus[/name_m] isn’t awful…maybe too much like [name_f]Santa[/name_f]. Not sure why I don’t like it. I like [name_u]Claude[/name_u] a lot, which is similar.
[name_u]Valentine[/name_u] James-While [name_u]Valentine[/name_u] is fun for a mn, it seems a bit much to wear as a fn.
[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps.
