Fay/Fae/Faye the Forest Fairy

Hello all.

I have taken a liking to the name Fae/Fay/Faye recently as a possible middle or second middle. I love that it means “fairy” but isn’t super childish (because as much as I love Pixie, my husband would never ever let me use it…even though he loves Otter for a boy, but that is another post for another day). My question is…which spelling is more appealling to you and why? Which one feels more “fairy”?

My opinions…
Fay: I know this the “traditional spelling” which gives it a lot of appeal to me as I don’t tend to like variations…however…
Fae: This is probably my favorite. When I think of fairies (or faeries), I tend to associate this more with them. Does it look too kre8tiv?
Faye: I like this one too, but it doesn’t feel as magical. I just like it because I love Faye Dunaway.

I like the [name_f]Faye[/name_f] spelling the best. I think it looks the most complete. I love the sound of [name_f]Faye[/name_f]/[name_f]Fay[/name_f]/[name_f]Fae[/name_f]. It makes a great middle name since it doesn’t rhyme with most names. I love it!

[name_f]Faye[/name_f] has really started to grow on me! I used to watch a [name_f]Fae[/name_f] and a friend from HS has a [name_f]Faye[/name_f]. I go back and forth on preferring those two spellings. I’d probably go with [name_f]Fae[/name_f] if I was going for an ethereal feeling.

[name_f]Fae[/name_f] is the most fairy-like to me. [name_f]Faye[/name_f] the most like a name.

I think [name_f]Fae[/name_f] is usable, and very fairly-like.

[name_f]My[/name_f] favorite spelling for [name_f]Fay[/name_f] is actually [name_f]Fey[/name_f]. Out of the spellings you have listed, I like [name_f]Faye[/name_f] the best but I really don’t think you can go wrong with any of them.

I like the [name_f]Faye[/name_f] spelling, with the E ending it seems more beautiful and like a name rather than word.

I love this name and all of its spellings!! Fei is probably my favorite, 飞 meaning “fly” or “winged,” so even though it’s in a completely different language and text, it has a similar meaning. ( :

Today, this is my order of preference, but Phae is usually higher.

  1. Fei
  2. [name_f]Faye[/name_f]
  3. [name_f]Fey[/name_f]
  4. [name_f]Fae[/name_f]
  5. Phae

[name_f]My[/name_f] favorites are [name_f]Fae[/name_f] and [name_f]Fey[/name_f]. [name_f]Fae[/name_f] feels the most fairy like to me. I don’t think it looks kre8tiv, more… gilded. It looks antique.

[name_f]Fae[/name_f] is beautiful and definitely my favourite.

It’s not Kr8ive in the slightest. Faeries in plural are sometimes referred to as the [name_f]Fae[/name_f] or just [name_f]Fae[/name_f].

Actually considering it for a middle/second middle myself!

I think [name_f]Fae[/name_f] is definitely the most fairy-like, but overall, I love [name_f]Faye[/name_f] the most. It’s one of my favourite names.

[name_f]Fay[/name_f] has always been my favourite spelling, but I also tentatively have [name_f]Fey[/name_f] on my list of guilty pleasures…

I love, love, love [name_f]Fae[/name_f]!!! So much! I love the closeness the spelling has to faerie, and just the fact it has the ‘ae’ that I love. Somehow I find it more magical and whimsical and amazing.

I love this name! [name_f]My[/name_f] favourite spelling is [name_f]Faye[/name_f] <3 I like Fae but I do think it’s a little too ‘kre8tiv’, though that’s just my opinion :stuck_out_tongue:
