February..the month of love...

So, I am still searching for a name and it dawned on me that I legally became my daughter’s mother in February. Soooo i was thinking maybe I could use a name that had to do with the season.

My first thought was winter or wynter which i like a lot but i bet some of you have some great ideas that have to do with the color red or love.

thanks!

i just thought of ruby and valentina. any others i missed? thanks!

[name]Scarlett[/name]
[name]Carys[/name] (Welsh name meaning ‘love’)

[name]Scarlet[/name] - an obvious choice.
[name]Crimson[/name] - I’m not sure it’s been used before. Easy to spell. Pretty.
[name]Maggie[/name] - from the idea of magenta, which is pink
[name]Rudy[/name] - from “ruddy” but more pleasant
[name]Winter[/name] - easy to spell
[name]Sherry[/name] - instead of cherry, which is red
[name]Claire[/name] - from claret (wine) which can be red
[name]Rosalind[/name] - meaning “[name]Red[/name] dragon” in Spanish; shakespeare reference, plus it’s just pretty and has the word rose
[name]Seraphina[/name] - means ardent. Also, any name that means love or ardent would work well.

Names I wouldn’t suggest: vermilion, snowflake, wynter, berry, garnet… basically word names or misspelled word names.

I love the suggestion of [name]Carys[/name], Welsh for love. [name]Aimee[/name] is French for loved.

[name]Love[/name] [name]Carys[/name]!

Also

[name]Dulcie[/name] - means “sweet”
[name]Garnet[/name]
[name]Kerensa[/name], Cornish, means “love”
[name]Noa[/name] - The name meaning website “Behind the Name” says that [name]Noa[/name] is a Japanese name that means “love”.
[name]Ruby[/name] - I think someone already said [name]Ruby[/name], but I second or third it.

Romantic literary and real-life characters:

[name]Beatrice[/name], as in [name]Dante[/name] and [name]Beatrice[/name]
[name]Cressida[/name]
[name]Eve[/name]
[name]Heloise[/name]
[name]Juliet[/name]

some afterthoughts I had:

[name]Holly[/name]
Winterberry (meaning holly), [name]Winter[/name] for short. It’s very bold.
[name]Nevada[/name] (means “covered in snow”)
[name]Amanda[/name] (“much loved”), including all its derivatives: [name]Mandy[/name], etc.
[name]Rosa[/name] [name]Carolina[/name] - a type of wild rose
[name]Flora[/name], [name]Fleur[/name] and other flower names

when i was due in february our girl name was ruby valentina, we ended up having a boy! i know the name is a quite “themey” but i love it =)

I don’t know why… I just keep thinking about this post.

[name]Carmine[/name] - (latin) meaning vivid red
[name]Rory[/name] - either as a nickname name or with a longer official name. It’s Irish meaning red king. [name]Aurora[/name]. [name]Lorelai[/name], there are lots of names with the nn [name]Rory[/name].
Coraz”n - [name]Cora[/name] for short. In Spanish, it means “heart”.
[name]Varda[/name] - (hebrew) meaning “rose, pink”.

I don’t know where you live, but where I live Camellias are in bloom. [name]Camellia[/name] would make a cute name, I think. I’d use the nickname [name]Millie[/name].

[name]Valentine[/name] is sweet, I prefer it to [name]Valentina[/name].

[name]Love[/name]:
Amour
[name]Amabel[/name]
[name]Annabel[/name] and variations
[name]Caron[/name]
[name]Suki[/name] - means loved one
[name]Aiko[/name] - beloved child
[name]Esme[/name]
[name]Imogen[/name]
[name]Priya[/name]

Colors: (red, pink and purple are all February to me)
[name]Scarlett[/name]
Fuschia
[name]Lilac[/name]
[name]Lavender[/name]
[name]Indigo[/name]
[name]Rory[/name]
[name]Ruby[/name]
[name]Phoenix[/name]
[name]Violet[/name]
[name]Ianthe[/name]
[name]Primrose[/name]
[name]Rhoda[/name]
[name]Zaria[/name] - rose in Arabic
[name]Amethyst[/name] (this is the birthstone, too!)

oh i like the previous suggestion of violet, as its the birth flower for feb!

thanks for all the great suggestions!!
