I know its kind of lengthy. I tend to like nature-y names for girls, but I also like classic, elegant girls names. Any middle name suggestions would be nice. They dont have to be from this list, Im open to pretty much anything.

I think there all really beautiful especially [name_f]Coraline[/name_f], [name_f]Liliana[/name_f], [name_f]Merida[/name_f], and [name_f]Danica[/name_f]

I love [name_f]Elspeth[/name_f], [name_f]Elowen[/name_f], [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] and [name_f]Jewell[/name_f]. [name_f]Danica[/name_f] and [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] are okay.

[name_f]Elspeth[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f]
[name_f]Lyra[/name_f] [name_f]Gabrielle[/name_f]
[name_f]Elowen[/name_f] [name_f]Camille[/name_f]
[name_f]Jewell[/name_f] [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f]

In general I like them.
My favorites are:
[name_f]Merida[/name_f]
[name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f]
[name_f]Dahlia[/name_f]
[name_f]Jewell[/name_f]
I like but are not quite favorites:
[name_f]Liliana[/name_f]
[name_f]Lyra[/name_f]
[name_f]Danica[/name_f]
[name_f]Elspeth[/name_f]
[name_f]Coraline[/name_f]

I don’t like much:
[name_f]Luna[/name_f] (the lunar associations)
[name_f]Kyra[/name_f]

Here are some names you might like
[name_f]Amaryllis[/name_f] (long but a lot of nickname choices) [name_f]Flower[/name_f] so keeping in the name theme
[name_f]Beryl[/name_f] (a quirky name seems in keeping with your style) nature name [name_f]Beryl[/name_f] is related to Emeralds
[name_f]Blythe[/name_f]
[name_f]Hyacinth[/name_f]/[name_f]Jacinda[/name_f]
[name_u]Sage[/name_u]
[name_f]Sunday[/name_f]
[name_f]Maple[/name_f]
[name_f]Meriel[/name_f] one of my favorites related to the [name_m]Beach[/name_m] ([name_f]Merida[/name_f] is also nice and while obviously too close to use both) I wanted to share this one.

Good [name_m]Luck[/name_m]!

I like:

[name_f]Elowen[/name_f]
[name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f]
[name_f]Lyra[/name_f]
[name_f]Luna[/name_f]
[name_f]Dahlia[/name_f]

[name_f]Merida[/name_f] - TRENDY, EVERYONE [name_m]WILL[/name_m] KNOW SHE WAS NAMED THIS BECAUSE THE MOVIE BRAVE [name_m]JUST[/name_m] CAME OUT
[name_f]Liliana[/name_f] - just ok, eh
[name_f]Elowen[/name_f] - may get confused with [name_f]Ellen[/name_f], doesnt reach out to me, only use if you have a Celtic background, otherwise its out of left field
[name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f] - Paltrow, who sells plain white t-shirts for $100 so i have major bias against this name
[name_f]Lyra[/name_f] - pretty lovely, musical
[name_f]Luna[/name_f] - trendy, but quirky - [name_m]Harry[/name_m] [name_m]Potter[/name_m] connotation
[name_f]Kyra[/name_f] - [name_f]Keira[/name_f] or K-I-ra? if [name_f]Keira[/name_f] spell it CORRECTLY, dont put a child through this
[name_f]Danica[/name_f] - [name_m]Patrick[/name_m], really the only one so she comes straight to mind
[name_f]Elspeth[/name_f] - a ‘trying to make [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] different’ name, and its ok, i prefer [name_f]Lisbeth[/name_f]
[name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] - The [name_m]Black[/name_m] [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f], boring flower name, been there done that
[name_f]Coraline[/name_f] - book & movie, everyone knows it became popular because of it
[name_f]Jewell[/name_f] - might as well name her [name_f]Diamond[/name_f] or [name_f]Sapphire[/name_f] - these gem names are overly sweet and sickening. try [name_u]Ruby[/name_u], [name_f]Pearl[/name_f], [name_f]Peridot[/name_f] ANYTHING else

Thanks everyone, I appreciate it.

Orphanedhanyou- yes, [name_f]Kyra[/name_f] is in fact said like [name_f]Keira[/name_f], and it is spelled CORRECTLY, [name_f]Kyra[/name_f] is a legit spelling. Unless im spelling it Keeruh dont assume its incorrect. [name_f]Elspeth[/name_f] is the scottish form of [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], its an actual name, im not “trying to make it different.” And [name_f]Jewell[/name_f] is my great aunts name, whom im close to and would love to honor.

[name_f]Merida[/name_f] - I adore this name! The Brave association doesn’t put me off, and if anything, the character is a positive role model for girls.
[name_f]Liliana[/name_f] - Pretty, but very frilly. I prefer simply [name_f]Lily[/name_f]. Other interesting variations are [name_f]Lilia[/name_f] and [name_f]Lillith[/name_f].
[name_f]Elowen[/name_f] - Gorgeous!
[name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f] - [name_f]Lovely[/name_f], but some of the other names on your list are more special.
[name_f]Lyra[/name_f] - I immediately think of the [name_u]Golden[/name_u] Compass character. Not bad, but not captivating.
[name_f]Luna[/name_f] - Also, strong [name_m]Harry[/name_m] [name_m]Potter[/name_m] association; lovely name, but for me not as unique as some others on here.
[name_f]Kyra[/name_f] - I prefer [name_f]Keira[/name_f] spelling purely for aesthetics. It’s not my favorite off of this list.
[name_f]Danica[/name_f] - I dislike this name.
[name_f]Elspeth[/name_f] - Another name that I adore! So beautiful.
[name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] - Not bad, but I prefer [name_f]Thalia[/name_f].
[name_f]Coraline[/name_f] - Has the [name_u]Neil[/name_u] Gaiman association, but I love the name. Not as much as some others, but still, very unique and whimsically beautiful.
[name_f]Jewell[/name_f] - I understand its personal significance, but I’m not a fan of this name. Perhaps in the middle slot? [name_f]Elspeth[/name_f] [name_f]Jewell[/name_f], [name_f]Merida[/name_f] [name_f]Jewell[/name_f] and [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] [name_f]Jewell[/name_f] are all lovely candidates.

after thinking it was familiar and looking it up again, i realized some connotations for [name_f]Lyra[/name_f], due the His Dark Materials trilogy.

while people can believe whatever they want to believe and write what they want to write, the author [name_m]Philip[/name_m] Pullman’s heart just doesnt seem in a good place. supposedly he held book ‘screenings’ by telling kids ‘this is a bad book, dont read it’ and then leaving the room to see if they’d give into ‘human nature’ to look. it feels like hes coming from a ‘ha! im right!’ kind of perspective

this kind of ‘devil’s advocate’ really just makes me sad for people and the world. so no matter how lovely i could never use this name

[name_f]Merida[/name_f] – Nice enough, but very tied to the film ‘Brave’. She’s a great character though, and I’m sure most little girls wouldn’t mind being named after a Disney heroine, so don’t let that put you off if you love it.
[name_f]Liliana[/name_f] - Elegant
[name_f]Elowen[/name_f] – Nice balance of familiar and unusual, as well as being a nature name (Cornish for ‘elm tree’). I imagine she’ll have a lot of people mistaking it for [name_f]Eowyn[/name_f] and asking whether her parents were [name_m]Lord[/name_m] of the Rings fans though!
[name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f] – Never really been keen on this name. It always sounded a bit weak to me.
[name_f]Lyra[/name_f] – Great! This name has a lot of punch for being quite short, and is very feminine without being too frilly or cutesy.
[name_f]Luna[/name_f] – Not really a fan of this one.
[name_f]Kyra[/name_f] – Nice.
[name_f]Danica[/name_f] – I don’t like this one, but that’s just because I have an irrational dislike for names beginning with ‘[name_m]Dan[/name_m]’ (e.g. [name_m]Daniel[/name_m], [name_f]Danielle[/name_f]).
[name_f]Elspeth[/name_f] – [name_f]Love[/name_f] it! I have a weakness for Scottish names.
[name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] – [name_f]One[/name_f] of my favourite flowers names.
[name_f]Coraline[/name_f] – I instantly think of the [name_u]Neil[/name_u] Gaiman book, but I don’t think that’s a bad thing. It has a nice sound to it.
[name_f]Jewell[/name_f] – Not my favourite but, given the personal significance, perhaps it would make a sentimental middle name?

(PS. [name_m]Don[/name_m]’t mind orphanhanyou’s comments. I’ve seen a few things this poster has commented on assuming that any name or spelling variant they haven’t heard of before is ‘made up’, even if it’s perfectly legitimate, or negging on familiar names for being ‘done before’. You really can’t win!)

[name_f]Merida[/name_f]- It’s a pretty name, but I would use it because I didn’t love the movie Brave and I think everyone would assume I love the name because of the movie.
[name_f]Liliana[/name_f]- A bit too frilly for me.
[name_f]Elowen[/name_f]- Pretty
[name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f]- It doesn’t really roll of my tongue.
[name_f]Lyra[/name_f]- Pretty
[name_f]Luna[/name_f]- It’s growing on me every day, but my first thought is still “[name_f]Luna[/name_f] Lovegood.”
[name_f]Kyra[/name_f]- I think that with this spelling a lot of people are going to be pronouncing it “kie-rah” instead of “kier-uh.” Personally my favorite spelling is [name_f]Kiera[/name_f], but I’m biased because that’s my own name
[name_f]Danica[/name_f]- [name_m]Don[/name_m]'t like it at all.
[name_f]Elspeth[/name_f]- Pretty, but it doesn’t roll of the tongue very well.
[name_f]Dahlia[/name_f]- I always think of the [name_m]Black[/name_m] [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] murders.
[name_f]Coraline[/name_f]- I [name_f]LOVE[/name_f] this name. [name_f]Coralie[/name_f]'s too sweet but [name_f]Coraline[/name_f] hits all the right notes.
[name_f]Jewell[/name_f]- I don’t like it that much. I’d go with a gem name instead of literally naming my child “[name_f]Jewell[/name_f].”
